There's not much info on what this series is about, or what will make it worth to watch on MAL...

Can anyone that has watched the ONA or knows more about the director/script writer give some more insight on what to expect, please? ^-^'

I can't really say, since I've just seen it without subtitles and I can't actually understand japanese, but what I got is that there is this post-apocalyptic world, where only seven people live, all sisters. They fight against "insects" ("mushi") for land, food and water. One day, a weird boy appears from nowhere and makes Rin (one of the girls) suspect, because they were the only humans in the world until now.
I think it is something like this, and I hope I didn't spoil anything about the actual anime.

This one looks weird but it's original anime which is always plus for me.

But it seems that studio hasn't produced something worth mentioning so far.

Just as a sidenote "Mushi" sounds quite similar to the german colloquial word for pussy, which hopefully does not set a flag for the ingenuity of this anime, because from the titlescreen there it looks promising to one of the older fighting animes from the 80/90's...

Except one of the most popular shows of 2017, both in sales and in critical reception xD

This is from Tatsuki, the same director of Kemono Friends, which was a big hit that year (and has a second season airing in a few days that people are hating in advance, precisely because Tatsuki was fired). A lot of people are pointing at similarities in style already from episode 1.

I don't know that show, however clearly it isn't for me. PV touchs every prejudice I have.

The CG is horrible but if you can get used to it, you'll find a world and a fanbase of artists and doujin works who could end being as huge as tohou (and a greedy company who disregarded this and fired the reason of this success)

"Mushi" means bug in Japanese...

I wonder if Kemurikusa is a bizarre alternative take on "Cells at Work"? Some kind of an allegory where rails stand for the the circulatory system, etc. The tree-matron appears to be seriously ill, the chibis somehow multiply by cloning (stem cells), etc.

I also have a faint suspicion the crimson girl troupe are actually the antagonists and those "bug monsters" are fighting them for a good reason but that won't be revealed until the last 1-2 episodes.

Ok that sounds interesting.

It's probably someone after an explosion or something and is in pieces, like robocop and the fewest white cells that remain (the redhead girls) are trying to fight off the bacteria and all sorts of stuff.

Doesn't it more sound like Earth Defense Force? You know giant bugs and the JSDF, I mean EDF, fighting alongside...
