| For the longest time the ones written by KANLen09, RiverRode, Karhu, and Stark700 were the highest rated ones, but the positions have suddenly been swept by 4 of the most negative reviews of the show. It looks highly abnormal to the point of being manipulated. Here are 3 snapshots of the show's page at different points in time (using the web archive wayback machine) Nov 4 2018 Dec 21 2018 Jan 6 2019 All the most highly voted reviews (both positive and negative) have been published within 1-2 weeks of each other and have been on the site for about the same amount of time. Starting in January, the most negative reviews begin getting a surge of votes to the point where they are now the most highly rated on the page. However, the show's overall viewer count and rating have not significantly changed in the same time. This activity looks highly suspicious to the point of being done by sock puppets. |

| Trolls doing their thing. This is an obviously orchestrated manipulation, the reason behind I wonder. There's probably a group of people out there who have fun with these kinds of acts. |

Re:Zero has been seen by hundreds of thousands of people on this site so unless you have access to things like the voting logs, it is more difficult to detect who is fraudulently voting for certain reviews, based on the sheer size of its fanbase and the people who hate the show. Conversely, Revue Starlight has only been seen/scored by about ~10,000 people, a relatively small number. It is very easy to detect abnormal activity on the page, such as a review arbitrarily gaining almost 100 votes in the span of a week. |

| Big and huge shoutout to @TheKillerAngel for this forum. Quite honestly we've all seen trolls even here in this community, but to the point of manipulating/spamming ghost votes is just dead wrong. Thankfully MAL doesn't have the dislike button (otherwise blood will be shed). And it's true that Revue Starlight doesn't have a big fanbase, like only 10k members, so to see this issue persist (since the last month or so), there must have been a prank (or multiple troll accts) in the works. So if you can, upvote the reviews from the regulars (at the time of end broadcast), plus myself included. @ycleped do update here on the mod's findings. |
