Indeed. And this is exactly how the Level 0's win these fights, since they can't rely solely on their power and therefore have to use their brains. The higher someone's level, the more they end up thinking not only that they can beat anyone with their power alone, but also that their power is the only weapon they have. |

Also, don't forget that sometimes they get bit cocky and that in a way backfire against them e.g Accel |

So many groups with stupid names (member, school, item, etc... seriously?) fighting each other, and mercenaries, and I'm not sure what each side is fighting for... Here is a spoiler of everything. Academy City (hereby shortened to AC) is a dictatorship with the board director Aleister at the top, he rules the Science side with an iron fist, so obviously a lot of people hate his guts and wish to personally strangle his androgynous neck. Unfortunately the man is invulnerable, so most Dark Side organization don't want to end up as a corpse for plotting his death. But suddenly 930 event happened, AC got invaded by a foreign power, a lot of Dark Side organization see this as a opportunity and proof that Aleister is not an Omnipotent Evil Presence that can't be defeated. So 2 of them tried to rebel while AC's main army is busy grinding France to a paste. Those 2 groups were BLOCK and SCHOOL. BLOCK is responsible for governing some of AC's collaboration organizations, essentially they are suppose to be part of AC's inquisition, if anyone doubts AC's absolute dictatorship, they are to be reported and "disappear". SCHOOL is one of AC's black ops, they handle shit like assassination and guarding secret research that aren't suppose to see the light of the day. So these 2 organization rebelled, and the other 3 while still disliking Aleister (Except MEMBER who all suck Aleister's androgynous dick) doesn't want the rest of AC to suffer for BLOCK and SCHOOL's rebellion. So they fight each other. End result, everyone except GROUP got destroyed, Aleister's dictatorship remains, and GROUP got the consolation prize of learning that there are more darkness lying in the formation of AC. (Something so obvious and pointless, that AC's top literally at one point says, it is pointless to try erasing AC's darkness) In short, everyone lost, except Aleister and Hamazura Shiage. Thanks. That helped out alot, although even knowing that before watching, i'd still not be able to tell wtf the esper's abilities are and if I care about them getting killed or not. |

Hamazura fight get butchered while Accel vs Kakine get almost unlimited budget works!!! still didn't save this anime though... Frenda get killed without any context, i'm saying this because most of my friends who are anime watchers only keep asking me why Frenda get killed... Still salty that they butchered Hamazura fight because this is one of those times where we can see how good Hamazura in using tools to defeat his enemies, compare to Touma and Accel... |

Also lol at Misaka having trouble with Mugino, she was exhausted and still beat Mugino with next to no real injuries. |

KasuraS said: I thought Mugino lost her right eye and her arm Mugino just abandons her comrades and flees away alone. In that case, she is not better than Frenda, who gets tortured and solds them. I'm pretty sure J.C.Staff has censored her torture scene and her death scene as well. The fight between Accel and Kakine could be improved quite a lot. I will be satisfied if they bring the same animation quality as Frenda vs. Misaka in Railgun S or at least Vento vs. Touma in Index S2. This episode is really too rushed. The whole arc is worth of 5 episodes, instead of 3. Renzoku_Rentou said: Hamazura fight get butchered while Accel vs Kakine get almost unlimited budget works!!! still didn't save this anime though... If anything, JC Staff showed more of Frenda than the novel did, in the novel she's gone from most of the novel and just pops up already dead, in this one they gave you both context and actually a look into what their "interaction" was like. |

Bad bait mate.Next time at least wit a few moths and fill your list a bit before trying to start shit. Nah, instead of calling insulting everyone that disagrees with you. Back what you say up. I got the line right there “…Haaamazuraaa.” Suddenly, a voice came from behind him. He spun around and saw Mugino Shizuri standing blood-covered on the other side of the bridge. Some of it was her blood, but some was from someone else. He recognized the thing that she was dragging in her right hand that looked a bit like an old rag. “Frenda…” Technically, it was only her upper half. Wherever it had gone, her bottom half was gone and something dark red was dripping from the cross-section. “That’s right. It seems she was afraid of School so she betrayed Item and then hid. So I had to do a little purging. …What are you doing? You don’t need any purging, do you?” Mugino let go and Frenda fell to the ground. She didn’t even look towards Frenda. In the end, that’s all Frenda was – all a comrade was – to Mugino. Hamazura’s face stiffened upon seeing what, unlike Takitsubo, was clearly a corpse. Even so, he did not hesitate. He gave the girl on his back to Yomikawa and spoke quietly. “…Please go.” “Hamazura. As I said, I’m in Anti-Skill. I can’t have a child shielding me h-...” “Go!!” yelled Hamazura cutting her off. “I know you can’t ignore a murder case, but she’s well beyond that level! I can’t get into the details, but Frenda was fairly skilled herself. That woman is someone who could kill her in one blow! That’s why I’m telling you to take Takitsubo and go!!” After saying that, Hamazura looked at the unconscious Takitsubo with an expression that looked like it was about to collapse And I can just as easily make more lines, because unlike you I at least bothered to double check on the things I'm upset about, in this case Yomikawa didn't even HAVE an reaction to her death, not one we'd know from the LN anyways |

Like, there are actual parts of the Hamazura and Mugino section that got seriously cut and needed more time, however Frenda's death of all things? That didn't need anymore than the anime already gave it considering they had already extended her scenes in the entire damn novel |

Another one, for Kakine's awakening, the whole thing about that being a new power was actually revealed to be a mistranslated line, turns out by awakened they meant full length wings as he discovered something new with his powers and wanted to experiment. "Now the position of the #1 and #2 of Academy City were about to be reversed. This was neither a bluff nor an exaggeration. He now believed even if he fought against all the armies in the world, and even every esper in Academy City, he could emerge victorious and unharmed. “Hahaha!! Uwahahahaha!!” Kakine laughed and waved his completely awakened six wings down at Accelerator. He no longer saw Accelerator as a threat, and only wanted to experiment on something nearby. The next moment, Kakine Teitoku’s body was pressed into the asphalt by a great power. “Wha…!?” He didn’t understand what just happened. 194 " Tl;dr if you read OT15 and it said Kakine got a new power in that moment and the word splat is there, then that old fan translator actually added lines instead of what happened, as far as js06(our current translator) has said. |

Huh, I actually thought it was strange but Yomikawa really just randomly shows up like that, this is the first time she was mentioned after she had already left with Rikou “Stop, Accelerator!” A loud voice sounded out from outside his view. From the crowd gathered a familiar face jumped out. Wearing a green jersey that was ridiculously unfashionable, and without any make-up on her face. She was a school teacher and also one of the Anti-Skill peacekeepers. Yomikawa Aiho. She ran straight towards him. “I don’t know where you went, or what this current situation means. But, all I have to say is this: Give me the gun. That’s not something you need |

Kakine was always pretty retarded though, nothing really did change except for the fact that he believed he had discovered a new trick made his wings bigger and that trick he never got the chance to do. In this case though, its more of a lack of narration, he never really changed in that fight, and I guess one could've been tipped off because that "awakening" was only ever mentioned in that one fight |

Not that it actually bothers me though, that fight was pretty hectic in a public place and while the actual fight itself was pretty short who knows how long Accelerator was beating on Kakine's half grounded body |

MAL's database is retarded. Index always was a side character. Touma,Accelerator and Shiage were mains since their debut. Also, Misaka doesnt have a role yet so I have no idea what you mean when you say spin off characters. Was it those 3 eps? Shiage and Accel did stuff , as main characters while surrounded by other side characters. |

What the fuck is this trash writing? Why are lvl 0s defeating lvl 5 espers when they realistically should have no chance of winning?! Mugino had all the time in the world to kill Hamazura, instead she walks after him like some crazy psychopath when her ability is fast and effective at long range. I swear it’s as if the author can’t write a different fight sequence. Hamazura might as well be Touma’s brother with his lecturing and stupid one punches to win fights. Accelerator Vs Kakine was underwhelming. If Accelerator can trap in the ground then why didn’t he fucking do that Touma?! Because Touma has a shit ton of plot armour, that’s why. This arc has been trash. Rushed plot points, terrible pacing, too much meaningless deaths, way too many characters who weren’t properly introduced, stupid organisations like ITEM SCHOOL BLOCK GROUP MEMBER fighting for unclear reasons which I don’t give af about and not enough explanations. The story was all over the place. |

Well for one thing, Him during Accelerator versus Touma literally had never been in an actual fight, and no dealing with people who he never had to take seriously doesn't count. He also did that while black wings was active, which he didn't have at the time Also, Mugino walking after Hamazura like some crazy psychopath makes sense...considering she is practically a psychopath, but also she didn't want to destroy the body crystal |

The story was all over the place. This is what happened when you trying to cover 9 volumes into 26 episodes. They completely ruined one of the best arc of Toaru series like a garbage in the anime adaptation, most of the story plot of this arc was either being butchered (Hamazura fight, Frenda's death) or it's completely ruined so hard (Kakine's fight, Accelerator's black wings) thanks to our director god Nishikiori who only care about HD background scenes and fan-service moments. Not even the voice actors' performance and few action scenes can save this arc from being butchered so hard. I will rather prefer the MMO version of this arc (And even the Idol Accelerator parody version) over this. |
