Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato Sequel Anime Film Opens in Spring 2019 with Focus on Mumei _________________________  DMM Games revealed during a stage presentation at the Tokyo Game Show 2018 event on Saturday that the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato (Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri: Unato Kessen) sequel anime film will open in Japan in spring 2019. Tickets will go on sale for the film on October 20. Director Tetsuro Araki stated at the event that the film will focus on the character Mumei. The film will take place half a year after the story of the original television anime series. Araki previously stated that the film isn't a spinoff but a sequel. The official website for the anime lists the film as the "middle volume." DMM Games is also producing a PC browser/smartphone game for the franchise titled Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri -Ran- Hajimaru Michiato (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress -Revolt- Beginning Tracks). The anime will also stream on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video simultaneously with the theatrical release. The event also revealed that Shinichiro Miki will play the new character Kageyuki.  Tetsuro Araki is returning to direct the film at Wit Studio, and is also the film's scriptwriter. Code Geass creator Ichiro Okouchi, who wrote the TV series' scripts, is credited with organization. Haruhiko Mikimoto (Macross 7, Gunbuster) is credited with the original character design, and Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Aldnoah.Zero) is returning to compose the music. Shochiku Media Division is distributing the film. EGOIST will perform the theme song "Sakase ya Sakase." The film will also feature a returning cast. The film will focus on the character Mumei. | the main tv show was disappointing to me, so hopefully the sequel wraps up a lot of the plot holes that were left at the end, and hopefully put a conclusion to the story. |

| I wonder why MAL hasn’t put the Spring tag for this movie yet even though the Studio and Director/Producer have declared that the movie will air sometime in this upcoming Spring Season. Really looking forward to this movie nevertheless! Key visual and the teaser both look absolutely breathtaking, I hope the Storyline will be as good too! |
