| Another really solid episode. As a horror episode, I'll agree that it wasn't scary but that's not a problem for me. For one, Yami Shibai was only ever remotely good at that in season one, and even then a lot of them concluded with lame jump scares (the build up was often good though!). Actually though I wasn't going to care much for this, getting warned not to do something then the person does it anyone is an annoying cliché as is the whole not opening the door thing, at the very least it's not the first time Yami Shibai tackled that device (The Umbrella Woman from season 1, one of my favorites/one of the more frustrating ones). So I'm really glad the guy stopped him. It's a little lame that "ghost" Takeru basically outlined the backstory with his dying, that was an unnecessary line of dialogue since the clip we saw later was enough but that quibble aside, this was nicely constructed. I think the ending has some strong shot composition, with the the dad sitting down in front of the snowbody of Takeru, and and hugging once switching over to the bird's eye-view where he states he knows Takeru wouldn't want to leave his mother all alone. The perspective shift can almost be seen as the ghosts perspective, maybe Takeru looking down on his father (not that I think it was Takeru necessarily, considering the old man's tales it's likely not but still). Also, really liked the music in this one. |
| Instead of a scare jump we got a suprise ending. He did not open the door and the ending was kind of sad. Did not expect it to end like this. Good episode! |

| The poor kid had died. But I don't think it was the ghost of his kid calling out. It was something else So glad the husband made it out alive and the mom wasn't left all alone. I think he had gone to the mountain to fulfil his son's last wish. |
