I understand his character, but it's still pretty annoying that he doesn't fight back.

This was super cool! We had the main commentator out of his supporters reveal the thing I've been saying this whole time, he just wants to see a fight like a kid in a schoolyard to feel alive. He's started drooling like a typical Fukumoto villain.

But more importantly, I was expecting to fear Nakane. Yet, his shounen-esque appearance and lack of words and what he stands for... it's all made me purely like him. Last chapter he saw Kurosawa, assessed the situation and then smiled before telling him to go with him. He was happy to see an adult he could fight.
The fight this chapter showed that this is someone who lives for the literal fight that Kurosawa glorified. This guy fights because he enjoys it in the most pure form, he fights to live. The other delinquents fought unfairly to belittle others and feel good about themselves. To get back at the world. However, Nakane is the first fair fight that Kurosawa has gotten into and he seems to be doing it solely for him, to feel alive, to enjoy himself fighting a strong opponent and giving it his all. He's like a likable shounen villain. Seriously.. I bet this guy wouldn't go down if you hit him with a bat and if he did lose after he gave it his all I bet he would be happy too. I even think he would stop his cronies from helping him if he started losing.

For Kurosawa to realize what Nakane is doing himself makes me think two things. Kurosawa may either realize this is the guy he glorified as the ideal human, the most human you can be, until his doubt made him reconsider and perhaps he will be reminded to fight to feel alive and give it his all in a glorious brawl. Or he may realize this isn't the kind of living for him.

Every chapter of this is amazing, wow.

I also think fighting back here would open himself up for counter attack which he may be afraid of.

Obviously, most would be afraid. But that approach is rather pointless in a street fight.

Sadly he's in over his head and went along with Nakane unprepared. At this point it's kinda a one way street fight even mentally.
