10/10 for me. did everything I could ask for in a slice of life anime. I love nearly all the moments, Akiko feeling down, misunderstanding with Saburo, club trip, ricksaw training.......
Maybe it doesn't try anything new or goes all the way as K-ON but it's still so so so satisfying.

Sure, there were a few things to nick-pick. So what? It was fun to watch.

My favorite plays were
- The Koume somersault
- Tomoe's homerun
- The Yuki and Tamaki ball pass play
The Koume somersault was by far my favorite scene of the entire show :D
I was a catcher in little league and on a highschool club. Being solidly built, once I got the ball all I needed to do was get in the runner's way (and not drop the ball)...but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate finesse!

Well they gave it their all and managed to put the boys against the wall. They went from not being able to catch a ball properly to competing against them at a pro level, that's impressive.
Yuki's catch looked insane and props to her for continuing. Same to Kyouko, that dive was pretty cool along with the scene where one girl does the splits.

Noriko in the end pitches in with some help as well. She'd be a great asset to the team again, maybe not in game but working alongside Anna in providing tips for the girls. Noe also does that job fairly well. Overall they have a good foundation to work with and support as well.

The match overall was very enjoyable. Regardless of the loss, these girls didn't get all teary eyed.
The ending scene was touching. Koume and Saburou seem to finally acknowledge their relationship. I still feel like Koume didn't bother to argue with her father about the engagement because Saburou is a guy Koume can feel safe with or comfortable.

8/10 fun show

9/10. One of those hidden gems for sure.
I can't express in words how much I liked this series. I can't say any bad word about it. Everything was great, starting from beautiful art, great animation through atmosphere, ost, characters, setting, direction and the ending.
Btw. I still know nothing about baseball rules.
Dub = fake crap. Always.

This series had a potential to be one of the best anime out there but it got sprung down for me. it would have been nice if they had won that last game with those boys instead of losing 9-8, or if they were to win in the next season and continue with baseball. I guess in the end Akiko never proved her point to the fullest, if this series overall was about a strong passion about baseball and aimed to promote female empowerment it would be excellent. The series should have been also about their struggles and hardships they faced when trying to break female stereotypes in baseball instead they were lukewarm and they were close to being equal to the boys (not equal). This series never showed equality but showed near equality.

So they lost in end,but since it was more about do what you love, improving and show what you got,so a very fitting conclusion imo.

Koumes father coming at the end to cheer was what I expected, too bad that it felt a bit sudden, think one more episode dedicated to the conflict would've made it slightly better. Well, more episodes in general would've been preferable, but enough with the nitpicking,it was still a great show overall.

Likeable cast, good spirit, lots of comedy, nice values. Top package.

Also nice to see that Koume got her sailor uniform <3 Furthermore, glad that they showed that arranged marriages can work well too, have the feeling that most of the time it's portrayed in a bad light.

8/10 gonna miss this for sure

This show was far better than my expectations. Loved the characters, seeing all the girls starting from scratch and overcoming all the odds was delightful. Also this show succeeded in conveying a very postive message.

I really liked this final episode. The game was exciting! This is the second baseball anime that I've watched, and it's probably my favourite so far!

I'm a little disappointed that they didn't beat the boys, as that kind of shows everyone that girls simply aren't as good as boys, but maybe the fact that they worked so hard and improved so much in so little time shows the opposite? I don't know. I also agree with a previous poster a few episode discussions back that the fact that Koume and Sabouro are arranged to be married by Koume's parents kind of defeats the purpose of the anime, which is fighting for a young woman's choice to do what she pleases, without the societal constraints and expectations. Her dad just decides who she is going to marry, and there is no argument whatsoever?? I think they should have done something about it in the story, at the very least. Akiko was in the same boat, already have an arranged fiance, but at least for her family it's more understandable, as they're rather rich and that's just what rich families do lol

I still do like Koume and Sabouro as a couple lol and the ending where he calls her Koume-san was really cute, anyway. Akiko and her fiance were also cute together, and it was nice to see them become more able to understand eachother, as well as changing his point of view that women should only be in the kitchen.
Overall, it was a good one. I enjoyed the story, characters, the comedy, and the drama.

Great finale! Never expected them to win (they rarely do in these types of stories) but that game was pure hype, especially that split *chef's kiss*

Disappointed that there were no hints of social progress, ie: other schools forming teams or even little girls playing ball with each other or boys. Or even just a general montage of women doing traditionally men's stuff throughout the years.

Anyway, the show was fun. 8 nosedives off a bridge /10
