| You need to watch Yuuki Yuuna first (the 2014 TV series) first. Washio Sumi doesn't explain what you are supposed to know from Yuuki Yuuna, so you'd be going in confused as hell if you watched Washio Sumi first. |
| It's a prequel in the most true sense: a story set before and written afterwards. It's a terminological failure on MAL's part to refer to earlier series using the same word. That said, this could have been completely averted had MAL acknowledged this was part of the same season as the six upcoming episodes set after the first season(I don't know of any other site that'd split things this way). |

Washio Sumi was written before Yuuki Yuuna technically, the anime was just an original sequel to the original LN, with this anime adapting the LN after as a "prequel" to the anime. |
