| Well, the viewership of the anime is overwhelmingly female. So there's that. Then again, so is Kuroko no Basuke. But arguably there's less topless dudes and "I'm fabulous" sparkles, so if you ignore the fujoshi shippers and fanfiction, you can watch kuroko no basuke as an actual sports anime. |

If you're interested in sports shows, there may be other shows that are more focused on sports you could check out. If you're just interested in expanding the types of anime you watch, you can check out Free! to see if it's something you'd enjoy, but you don't need to feel forced to complete it or anything. |
| Okay so, I love answering this question because Free is one of my absolute favorite shows and I love it with all my heart, and I feel like a lot of people misunderstand the anime and what it actually is about so I feel like I need to state my opinion a lot of the time. But to answer the question, I think it's amazing. It's such a heartfelt anime, if you like the SoL genre I don't think you will mind it. It's basically just reverse K-On but it's a sports anime. It's not for everyone and I understand that, but if you just try to look away from some of the fanservice in season 1 I actually think it's easy to understand what it's actually about. I love the friendship between the characters and I think the 2nd season does a lot to move the plot forward as well as it has a lot of character development. |
