I was hoping Sumeragi would put up more of a fight considering she's hardcore enough to collect fingernails. Then again, I guess Yumeko got pretty freaky with the demon eyes and spitting on her face xD I'd be done at that point. She is not evil , she likes taking huge risks but she also wants her opponent to take a huge risk as well cuz feeling the pain alone is not fun (same goes for the other way around) Rich kids always gamble with low stakes , 200K $ is a small gamble when you have millions. However yabami will always try to find a way to make her opponent take a huge risk as well even at the cost of lowering her own chances. Now she tried to blackmail the nail girl by exposing her cheat and ruining her family company but when she saw how much of a pussy the nail girl is yumeko gave up. In other words yabami has no ill intentions. So Yumeko is just in it for the adrenaline rush and the thrills... which I guess would explain her going after the richer students or the ones held in high esteem. I doubt she'd have much fun playing against some noob who "only" bets $100 at a time :P I can't wait to watch her defeat the whole student council... *hopefully* It's not that she would get bored but more that non of them would even dare to gamble against her xD True, although so far since both of her wins are because she saw through the opponent's cheats without them knowing, I would still try facing her in a fair gamble since I'd expect it to be mostly up to luck xP Thought if you can't make her feel excited she would try to break you just like she did with Sumeragi this episode :D Well heck it's all good unless she spits on me... then we got a problem lol |

I don't care abot their faces, I'm here for the mind games only. But this aspect... well... leaves much to be desired. I hate to say this but I can't help but feel that I'm just too smart for this. Should stick to the quiz anime, I guess... |

I don't really get the "I'm too smart for this" thing, though. Is it because of how simple the games are so far? Well, we are only in two episodes so far, and many things do start out simple until a bit later (or maybe much later... or many never. lol), but if you feel like dropping, then that's fine too (though a shame). What is the quiz anime you're talking about, though? I'd love to take a peek. :D |

Ah, so you do read the manga. It's been a while, but if my memory serves me well: Either the game during the time they gamble against either that girl with the starry eyes, the male student council member, or in the game that they play right after, it's not as straightforward or simplistic. Or at least not to me, that is. I think that's a few more chapters later on? Forgot, tbh. Most of the games that went by so far are your ordinary card, gambling, or luck-based games in a bit of a different version or twist, which makes them very straightforward, but they make some very original ones, too, IIRC. And I forgot how that type of Russian roulette went in the manga, but I thought that they've made it in a way for a chance to win or lose in it as well wwith a type of card game condition included, and that Yumeko thought that they've made it in a way that no one would die in it since she doesn't like to kill. Eh. I don't really know. But in any case, I hope it does get better for you. If not, then that's a shame, but understandable. Thanks for telling me the anime, btw. I'll check it out very soon. :) |

The whole rigged card-game concept is getting a little repetitive, there was no difference between this episode and the first. Ultimately, this series is starting to feel like a crazy, short-lived adult version of Shokugeki with all these battles. |

Well, the sequence of events + even the emotions are almost formulaic. Both girls play nice to entice Yumeko to a game -> explanation of the game -> Yumeko loses a round or two -> opponent's attitude turns sour -> mocking facial expressions -> Revealed to have a trick up their sleeve -> MC tries to stop Yumeko who goes insane-> they play for some insane amount -> other girl breaks down -> council takes note. I doubt future battles will be any different. It only makes sense for the newbie to play on their terms which =/= a fair fight. |

Eh. I don't really know. It doesn't matter what type of card game they were playing. You just can't lose in the russian roulette. There is no chance of killing someone if you can use your brain even a little bit. It's so f**ing strange that no one in the manga knew about that. So there is only 2 options. How the anime (and manga) creatively present each battle is also fun to see nonetheless, given the show exaggerates on a lot of things anyway and doesn't take itself too seriously. I guess I have pretty high tolerance in that regard. |

The formula remains even so. She "lost the battle but won the war", if you will. Jabami saw through her opponent's trick and still walked away smiling. To me, her loss was more of a means to move the story as opposed to carrying emotional impact. I believe, in a game of luck where the main character is indifferent of the outcome, seeing through the opponent and emerging from the battle the more confident person is a larger victory to the viewer than actually winning it. |

Russian roulette is something that in russian language is called развод лохов. Don't know how to say it in english. Russians used this game to gain easy money from naive fools. You have a 100% chance of winning even if there is 5 bullets in the chamber, because of the bullet's weight. It's just strange for me to see that Yabami didn't knew about this nor didn't use that on her advantage. Some easy calculations and no one will die today. Cards and luck - it doesn't matter. |

I've figured that it had to do something with the weight of the bullets in the chambers as a reason. Not the reason, but as a possible one. So it does mean spotting whether at the time of firing if the chamber ready has the bullet in it or not, yes? Huh. I thought they did address the sort of thing in the manga in some way in order to make it so that the sort of thing couldn't be predicted from that. Or maybe I just never noticed because I was too dumb or blind? An understandable reason to call either the two girls or the manga in general dumb if this is actually the case. I should re-read that part, even though it's gonna be animated soon. You got me all interested now. lol BTW, I did check out the first episode of that quiz anime you've told me. It was an okay and interesting start. I've enjoyed it, but it was pretty basic, though. Both when it came to the characters and the game. Pretty average characters all-around, with a common joke that was rather repetitive to me. And about the game, they just said some methods (that I think were basic) when it came to playing quiz games with a buzzer that I already knew, and then they were just answering questions normally. Well, it's only been the first episode. I think it has the potential that they'll spice things up more later on with more varied quiz games and whatnot. |

Interesting episode Seems that Ryouta and Yumeko have become friends now which is nice. Hmm seeing Meari get treated like that was surprising. Guess losing to Yumiko has changed her position completely then. The insight into the caste and ranking system thats used in the school was interesting. So gambling ability trumps everything including grades eh. But one loss will cause your ranking to plummet eh. Truly a risky school. Hell of a way to push students to be good though. Even the student council in the school is eccentric lol. For a school that focuses on gambling the members of the SC must be pretty powerful. Meari's punishment i guess would have to be this severe given that she had that much backing from the SC. Yumeko's reaction on hearing the news sure was just her eh. I guess now she wants to challenge the SC as well. Watching the overconfident and rude Meari be reduced to this state sure is entertaining though. So the second game is essentially matching cards with a twist eh. A test of memory and luck eh. Wow this girl sure has a disturbing hobby. Hmm betting nails eh thats pretty unique. Hmm i see a high tech way of cheating at cards indeed. Its nice that Yumeko saw through this girl though. Yumeko's way of warning her opponents before defeating them though lol. Yumeko's perception skills though are really something. It looks like this win has garnered the attention of the whole of the student council on Yumeko though. |

So it does mean spotting whether at the time of firing if the chamber ready has the bullet in it or not, yes? Well, basically yes. Alright. Yeah, if even I could guess the sort of thing as a reason, then I guess it is a pretty basic thing to know about guns, which I pretty much know nothing about. lol At any rate, I went through the game again in the manga. The ability to spot whether at the time of firing if the chamber ready has the bullet in it or not due to weight in order to not lose, that had already been addressed, yes? Not only that, but the whole gun itself as to whether which of them is their own with how many bullets are in while taking it out of the box. Yumeko did the sort of thing with easily knowing which was her own gun compared to Ikishima's in the fourteenth chapter, or the second round of the game that she won and had to choose a gun and shoot, with the clear weight differences the two guns had as Yumeko had never placed any bullets in her gun until the final round (where she basically had no choice but to since Ikishima pressured and cheated even more), and Ikishima always did six bullets until the final round (where she finally did notice and care about the weight difference). Yumeko never planned on losing or winning since she didn't want to shoot anyone or be shot, and she knew she had to pull the trigger whenever she won a round. Ikishima didn't realize the sort of clear weight difference at the time she chose what gun to pull to shoot Yumeko at the first round since she wasn't even focused on that at the time, which made her an idiot tbh, but she did say that she was never trained with using a gun (then again, she did gamble with her life alone by doing a quick Russian roulette round alone, and she also got fooled by Yumeko's little joke in using lipstick in the chambers, so I just think she was stupid). Did I understand what you were disliking about the game and was able to address the sort of thing about it? Or am I still just a blind dumbass missing something here? It's not that I mind you calling the manga stupid or the girls stupid. I just wanted to help you understand, unless it's me that still do not understand here. |

She already noticed the pattern and acted like she didn't, but she didn't think that she'd use the same card patterns until she noticed them in the second deck. Oh well. Great episode! One thing they added was the whole time stop thing. Giving the opponent to explain they're tricks and all. If you think this is impossible, wait till you get the later battles. I absolutely love gambling/game series in general, but I really feel like they're overplaying the "craziness" of the characters here... like it just feels plain unnatural with the exaggerated reaction faces and whatnot. Also it feels like it's mostly the MC winning due to being super OP rather than the solutions to winning the games themselves being all that clever. Idk, I still like it but compared to the likes of Kaiji or Liar Game this is a level or two lower thus far But that's the main point of the series psycho girls addicted to gambling and their facial expressions thosse are the things that made the manga of this anime so big. Same, same. I'm a believer in the 3 episode test, so the show has to give me some kind of substance next week or it's a drop. The OP is fun, everything else is outrageous just for the sake of being outrageous. It's empty and boring. Like you can't have these ridiculous characters without delving into them even in the slightest. |

Ooooh. Great episode. I was so excited with the nail betting XD I hope it won't have the same pattern as always. :/ But it's fun seeing them gambling over another game. :3 |

Lord, I want to see romance in this anime to see how MC will interact with such crazy girls. Especially with the Jabami, which looks like the insane daughter of Miyuki Shiba and Betelgeuse. At the same time, I hope that this role will also be able to show Saori Hayami as capable seiyu, as it was in his time with Yoshitsugu Matsuoka. |

Yumeko is the MC of this series. ^ Suzui is more like the audience surrogate, though he's still listed as a main character (which he is). His significance to the plot compared to Yumeko pretty much puts him behind her. I wouldn't mind romance between Yumeko and the cray cray girls of this academy tho. x'D |

If I recall, there were people saying before that the author stated on his twitter that he didn't plan on any real romance in the series (though that may change). I don't exactly remember why, but I think it's that he can leave it to the fans to believe what they want about his relationship with Yumeko or all of the characters' relationship with each other. |

@Gala_Lion I know, but I meant Ryouta. Although I may be wrong because the adaptation made him a narrator. |

Well, Yumeko does not look like a girl who is interested in this. Or rather, who is interested in guys :D But still I'm scared to imaged her as a wife or mother. @Higanbana-chan Judging by the official art, we have more chances to see Mary / Jabami, lol. |

In the manga he is just the same he is only a MC on paper while Yumeko is the main protag and Mary the second MC of the series. all he does is do the narration and the commentary and give the 2 main girls support some times. |
