It was announced via Japan Expo in Paris on Saturday that a sequel of currently airing Koneko no Chii: Ponponra Daibouken is in production. More information will be announced later.

Koneko no Chii: Ponponra Daibouken is 3DCG anime adaptation of Kanata Konami's Chi's Sweet Home, which was serialized from January 2014 to June 2015 via Morning.

Isn't the first season still airing? Why already announce a sequel? It's a nice anime, but it feels like they're just milking it now.

Help the industry and buy Blu-rays and DVD's.

Frankly I tried the first episode of the 3DCG anime and felt it was lackluster. A lot of things seemed... wrong. Most of the voices were good (Yohei being the exception) but the 3D models threw me off.

I think I'll stick to the manga on this one.

The title for the 2nd season will be Koneko no Chii: Ponponra Dairyokou (こねこのチーポンポンらー大旅行)

Wi-Fi-5 (previously performed Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou OP2) will perform Theme song.

Sundays 7 a.m. via TV Tokyo and similar system on April 8 followed by TV Shinshu.
