| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- It's here! OMG! Mizuno Minami-sensei's latest work! This is gonna be an amazing ride. What a start! I have feeling that Eiji liked Izumi but he gave up on her because of Naohiko. That would explain his laid back attitude towards romance. But I wonder how Izumi felt? Was it mutual but never happened because they didn't have the courage or was it just one-sided? Or was it because Naohiko was courageous enough to actually confess? Izumi's smile at the end was quite enticing! But the past aside, I am also interested in Ikezawa. Already liked her character despite her being the serious type. At least for now I know she is kind as well and knows how to be thankful after lending Eiji the umbrella. I have this feeling that love will bloom eventually with Taichi getting the hammer! I just have to wait! And the final of the six characters appears at the very end of the chapter! I am excited to know the twintail girl who bumps onto Naohiko! It gave me this feeling that they might become together in the story even though Naohiko is in a long distance relationship with Izumi. Ahem. Izumi doesn't have a twintail now like she used to in middle-school. If he's into twintails, ahem. Anyways, a very good start! Since I ended up loving Nijiiro Days, I am expecting something similar or maybe even better this time. The characters are already very interesting and it might not be four separate romance stories this time around! 5/5 |

| Eiji and Ikezawa really remind me of the Mari and Mattsun dynamic. At least Ikezawa already has warmed up to Eiji after he helps save her. This was great. Izumi looks so different with her hair cut, even if her eyes weren't shown and Naohiko stopped wearing his glasses. They who do not know love yet, will come to know new love. I like it when Taichi said love can be fun and painful. While I do like Izumi, it does feel like Naohiko will find new love which is the twintail girl. |
| I heard of this series two days ago, and I was excited!! ^^ I love Minami Mizuno’s Nijiiro Days, so I look forward to reading this story!! Ah ~ Eiji used to be short in middle school and had a growth spurt afterwards, while Naohiko wore glasses in middle school and now wears contact lens I assume. :) Even Izumi now has short hair. People not only change physically, but they also grow as individuals. I look forward to seeing how Naohiko and Izumi’s long-distance relationship will be maintained. And what Eiji’s future love life will look like. LOL, it seems like it’s normal for Eiji to forget to do his homework. And Eiji even forgot about the day of the duty of the library committee members… :P Since Naohiko said Ikezawa is nice to him, I want to see their interactions. “I entered high school and several months went by. I even got used to the new environment. And somehow I’m living happily. It should be like this, but sometimes suddenly, I feel that there’s something lacking. I wonder why…” <- Wow! This is completely understandable! Sometimes life is great, yet there are those moments when you’re simply bored, like there’s some sort of spice missing that you can’t always place your finger on. :/ Hmm…even if Eiji was with Naohiko, Ikezawa could have waited for him. They’re classmates and part of the library committee. Generally, isn’t it more fun to go with someone than go alone? :c Perhaps, Ikezawa really didn’t have a good impression of Eiji, because of his carelessness? LOL, Taichi’s face turned red, when Ikezawa told him and Eiji to not speak loudly in the library!! XD LOL that Taichi finds Ikezawa cute when she’s serious, and he felt that he's lucky she got angry at him. :P (Now, Taichi reminds me of Mattsun, when Mari behaves aggressively to him, from Nijiiro Days…) OMG! When Eiji protected Ikezawa. <33 That was such a magical moment! Eiji didn’t touch Ikezawa, but he had his hands on the shelf, and asked if she was alright. :) Earlier, he even asked if Ikezawa needed help. Despite thinking Ikezawa is scary, Eiji really is a nice person for offering assistance and shielding her. But poor Eiji got his wrist sprained ;_____; Did Ikezawa fall in love with Eiji? LOL! Naohiko’s joke -> “Because you did something rare, like helping a girl, it started raining like this. Now club activities will be muscle training.” Eiji was right, lol; “That has nothing to do with raining, right?” xD LOL at Eiji’s “Since long before, I’m a man that helps other people!!” :P And then there’s Naohiko’s “First time I hear this.” Their friendship is so precious <3 I also forget to look at the weather forecast, Eiji. It’s completely understandable that he forgot his umbrella. But yay to Ikezawa for bringing her umbrella! :D (LOL, I agree with Eiji; she is the type of person who would bring an umbrella. ^^) As expected, Ikezawa asked if Eiji wants to walk with her, under her umbrella. <3 LOL at Eiji being surprised at Ikezawa being nice to him. xD Ah…I see Eiji tried to maintain the bro code, by thinking of Taichi’s crush on Ikezawa, and rejecting her offer. ~ Ikezawa’s cool for saying, “I have no ulterior motives, so relax. It’s just an apology. Since you covered me, thank you very much.” Ikezawa’s honesty is charming. <3 I look forward to seeing Ikezawa and Eiji’s friendship develop. :) Ikezawa was thoughtful to ask if Eiji’s hand is okay. :) Eiji’s “I can handle it” is smooth! But uh-oh… Taichi saw them walking under the umbrella together. >< LOL at Eiji’s cluelessness, when he asked Taichi, “Why do we have to go to a corner?” I love that Eiji was honest with Taichi, so there were no misunderstandings between them. :) LOL, Taichi!! -> “EVEN IF IT WAS AN ACCIDENT, I SHOULD BE THE ONE SAVING HER!! AND SHE’D HAVE SHARED THE UMBRELLA WITH ME!!” Well, Taichi, you didn’t forget your charger in the library and come back to get it, like Eiji did. :P Eiji gave wonderful advice -> “BEFORE PICKING A FIGHT WITH ME, CONFESS TO HER!!” I like this conversation: Eiji: Shouldn’t it be fun when you have a person you like? It doesn’t look fun in the least. I feel bad for Eiji… What did he experience, for him to say liking someone only gave him pain? :( I like Eiji’s maturity, since he wasn’t angry at Taichi for being angry at him. Instead, Eiji told Taichi that it was a mistake to let out his anger on someone else and to calm down.Taichi: …It is. But, it can also be painful. You can understand that much… Eiji: ...I don’t. For me, there was nothing but pain. Awe…but Taichi did look cute later, when he was spazzing about the situation. xD Eiji said, “Even I went through something similar.” <- what was it?? Who is the girl with the twintail who bumped into Naohiko? I wonder what role she’ll play in the story! :) shanimebib said: LOL!! At that time, if I did it this way, even if I thought about it afterwards, it’d be already too late.” This first chapter was an easy 10/10. Great characterization. Does anyone know how often chapters get released? |

Lemonade Scans scanlated this first chapter extremely fast. There's still a one-shot chapter released in Betsuma sister focusing on their time in middle school that needs to be scanlated. |

The one shot that precedes this one covers the middle school days of Eiji and Naohiko and their meeting with the energetic transfer student Izumi. I have really high hopes for this manga. Unlike Nijiiro Days, which has been a straightforward romance between four different couples (which in itself was amazing), I am almost certain this will have a rather complex romance. Here is the current relationships: Naohiko ← → Izumi (long distance) Taichi → → Ikezawa Eiji → → avoids romance Twintails → → bumps onto people Past relationships: (going by the one-shot, read the content inside the tab to understand the dynamics of the relationships of the three characters Eiji, Izumi and Naohiko) Near future relationships: Predictions Ikezawa → → Eiji Taichi → → Heartbroken Naohiko → → Twintails Izumi → → Eiji There is a considerable chance that she might re-transfer and enter their high school lives, you'll know if you read the content inside the spoiler. I found it a bit amusing that Naohiko and Izumi were using LINE yet the topic of their msg was Eiji while Izumi thought it must be fun (because Eiji is there). Btw, I want to emphasize that Eiji is already the best guy in the manga. First and the foremost, Eiji isn't interested in Ikezawa the slightest. He has a personality that is more complex than any of the four guys in Nijiiro Days. On the other hand, Ikezawa is very unlike Mari who is a baby (I love her though). She is exceptionally matured and acts responsibly and thinks rationally. Unlike Mari who hated guys for almost nothing, Ikezawa talks with a lot of conviction. She is different than any of the four girls in Nijiiro Days. Even if I swapped the genders, I cannot compare Mari trying to avoid Mattsun with Eiji trying to avoid Ikezawa. Nor I can compare Ikezawa showing her thoughtfulness towards Eiji from the first chapter to Mattsun who was only toying around with Mari's personality for a long time before developing real interest in her much later. |
