lmao Ye Xiu was so badass in that fight against Tang Rou

kind of felt bad that Tang Rou kept losing, but I guess it was supposed to show the difference of skill between the two

Ye Xiu did well in the Frost Forest dungeon. He came up with good strategies. He doesn't like it when someone says a game is simple. He wreaked the girl multiple times. Her in-game character looks cool. Now she wants to learn more so she can beat him.

That launcher character belongs to Chen Guo (boss of net cafe). Tang Rou doesn't even play Glory.

Awesome, just awesome. This is literally the best Chinese anime I have seen. XD

I loved how Grim got them to clear the raid with only offensive based characters, that was great and the animation for the fight scenes is pretty good too.
That chat conversation that Blue Brook guy had was hilarious, all those middle fingers. XDD

I also loved how Grim beat that new girl at the end to show her that Glory is simply not as easy as she thinks. Grim was totally savage on her with his comments. XD
The duel animation was quite well done too, there was a little animation reuse but that's not a problem.
I also like how he didn't feel sorry for her and return the money she bet.

The manager should just believe Grim that he's the real retired God. XD

Also if anyone wants to know, Bayi is gonna continue subs for this series.

After watching the raw version of episode 4, I don't think that the anime is going to do the manga justice. There's just so much more in the manga and the mc seems even more op because of it. Don't get me wrong the anime is great and all, it's how I first found out about it but the manga just takes the strategy to another level.

YE QIU IS A GOD! Savagery at the end to the max, bruh!

He was triggered cause Guoguo mocked the game (being simple) and he taught her a lesson.

Frost Forest was dope, Ye Qiu owned the place again and impressed the other pros.

Funny thing. The manga doesn't even do the novel justice. It has no where near the amount of information and details that the novel has. So you can imagine that the anime feels very rushed to someone who has read the source. I would have loved to see a perfect adaptation, but unless they had 50+ episodes, it would be difficult and hard to tell all the details and mechanics + skill descriptions. Especially since viewers might get bored of the constant grinding of dungeons.

I was thinking about how they were going to adapt the novel, I guess the answer is skipping literally everything.
That was about 25 chapters of the novel in one episode, haha.

The fighting animations are great and all, but I've seen some comments that this anime skipped a lot of stuff from the source material.

I can see where that's true since they don't explain the specific strategies and the various terms they use, which sucks imo.

On another note, that new girl just got REKT.

Actually it would have been quite a lot better if they showed us how he struggles once again starting from zero even though he is a retired pro, while also using some techniques he learned through the years, instead of 'insta god mode' level without even trying. And maybe do some teamwork instead of giving exact orders to others and making every other character except him feel like a bot.

Lol. There's no way a pro is going to "Struggle."

It's obvious why he gives orders. He was the team captain previously of his old team before he was forced to retire. Honestly, what you're saying makes no sense. And this comes from an anime-only watcher.

Suuure, and having a godlike MC that never struggles with anything is such a better alternative don't you agree? Or maybe I'm an idiot for expecting development.

Expecting development from a "retired" pro in the beginning stages of an opening server. Lol. Have you never played a game where new servers open up? I'm going to assume not, because you don't struggle. I feel like you're just trying to find random flaws that make zero sense.

If you honestly expected a pro player to struggle so early at all, well, Idk what to tell you.

You do know this is at chapter 50 right? out of 1700? The beginning, he have no team, no money to fund a team, no silver gear maxed character and most of all no guild to steal high level field boss. He is OP right now because he is in the middle of a bunch new players, he isn't even that OP considering all the pros can do it, hell Zhang JiaLe literally cannot be beaten by noobs because no noob can deal with the "hundred blossom" play style. If he is struggling right now against noobs and average game players, than he really should just retire, cause clearly he isn't cut out to be a pro anymore.

Ye Xiu's character is far from ready to return to the pro scene right now, he needs a team of more than 6 to even register.

No I've never had the opportunity to play in a newly opened server. And he's made a new character, I thought they'd show us how his character steadily becomes stronger and stronger because isn't that how it goes with MMORPGs?? And PLEASE don't tell me that you find this anime to be absolutely flawless.

Not an excuse, you didn't bother much before declaring him to be "Dumb OP protag with no depth or progress", I prove you wrong by listing how the story goes. The source and show is still the same show, if they explained it and you didn't read or listen, it is your own fault. Also, even in the show they told you he is a retired pro and his new character is pretty low, and he is in the middle of a bunch of noobs and showed the face of other pros. That should be enough info already. They even showed it is the middle of the season of the league so all the pros are busy having matches and training.

I never declared him a "dumb OP protagonist with no depth or progress" I said he's too OP for his level and I would've liked to see his in-game character progress and develop. You would not be here 'talking' to me if the anime actually said everything you said to me in your previous comment, and don't go around assuming things just because you're a fan of the original work and can't take someone criticizing it.

Criticize? You are giving yourself far too much credit, criticize is when you actually know a lot about something. What you said is more like trolling or willful ignorant, the source have been finished for 3 years and is ridiculously famous, there really isn't much excuse to not know what happens next. Also I pointed he is not too OP for his level, his level is pro level, and for Glory which is based on DNF, player skill is far more important than level and equipment, a pro can beat a noob 20 levels higher than their character by taking them out with one combo and lose almost no health in the process. Also there is progress for his character, he is asking materials in order to increase the level of the thousand gear umbrella, otherwise he can't continue playing unspecialized character without being destroyed by other pros.

Look, I'm considerate enough to actually go and google the thing to give you an understanding of the word 'criticizing': "form and express a judgement of (a literary or artistic work)." Tadaaaa.

Excluding the materials for the Umbrella wepaon, how the fuck am I supposed to know the rest when the anime is inconsiderate of the newcomers to the series?? And don't you dare say that it's my fault for not reading the original source cause that's not a fucking reason to leave out important information like that.

And here is the definition of trolling for your effort, "make a deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them", ehm.

The anime did mention and hinted a lot of what I said, you didn't bother to look into it much before posting. Also as far as I see, you are just posting about the show as a whole and didn't care whether this applies to the novel or the anime, you only brought out the "I'm only criticizing the anime, that means I can say whatever I want" card after you found out that there are actually people who read the source and the source actually is highly detailed and explained everything.

Also it is your fault, you want to criticize something, have the decency of actually seeing or reading what you are talking about, a random nobody yapping online is not criticizing, it is called inciting a flame war.

I am posting about the anime because this is the discussion FOR THE ANIME ADAPTATION pal, you know? It says so in the title? "Episode 3 discussion" and not "Volume 1 or 8 or Chapter 58 or 93 discussion"??? And stop fucking twisting my words to whatever suits your need, I said AND I QUOTE:

Also as far as I see, you are just posting about the show as a whole and didn't care whether this applies to the novel or the anime, you only brought out the "I'm only criticizing the anime, that means I can say whatever I want" card after you found out that there are actually people who read the source and the source actually is highly detailed and explained everything.
How am I supposed to know that when I haven't read the novel/manga? The anime hasn't given me that info, and I'm not here discussing about it's source material.
That sounds quite different from what you think I said.

Right, so you think you can denounce this show as a shitty harem OP protag s*itfest like every LN ever and get away with it by saying "I am talking about the anime, so I am always right". Good to know, you know what, if you don't want to learn about the show, then get out. One less idiot in the forum have no impact on the quality of QZGS, cause it is already completed and recorded in Qidian's hall of fame. So, bye bye, don't let the door slam you on the way out.

The funniest part is that you keep insulting the show more than I ever did. Just like that you keep embarrassing yourself even further that you've already had.

Oh, please enlighten me how I have misinterpreted your words? I seem to recall you comparing this to all the other OP protag shitfest littering MAL, so I have no clue how you come to the conclusion that I insulted the show when I merely repeated what you said.

Yes, it is quite embarrassing, I am actually treating someone who is too lazy to use google with an ounce of respect and thinking you would actually even bother looking into the background of a show. Well, I guess it is the habit of MAL to not do any research before shit posting, this forum really have become a slightly more useful /a/. So from now on, I will no longer use actual examples from the story to counter your point, and just assume you are a troll, until you have showed the weakness of the show.

I hope you are proud of yourself.

even in anime's with a manga stuff are changed or cut, but ya i do agree can be frustrationg...you reasd something good, but the anime doesn't goes to same lenght

teamwork is important but it is not everything, especially when the player is good.

Dah.. Yes he is.. It would be more of a surprise if he wasn't, newly "retired" and all.

Well. currently his situation is something akin to a lvl 70 player fighting goblins/kobolds in an RPG (big fish in a small pond).
He ranked very high even among his pro peers (before his "retirement"), so how on earth would that be difficult in any way?
Especially in a game which seems to favor skill over levels (which I assume is more or less a requirement for *paid* pro players to exist).

However, difficulties and whatever may show up later on..depending on how many seasons
this series is supposed to run, and/or how much they skip.

I know right! Those pro teams and their 1-2 man carry cores. Psshh, what do they know. Five-man carry cores are best! Supports are for noobs.

Those retarded real life raid teams who may have to retry a raid boss again and again to ascertain the reaction patterns are doing it wrong. If only they instead stop with role variety and just go full DPS... Full DPS team, best team.

We are talking about PVE tho as obviously pro game team play matters more.

I have seen and have solo'd dungeon bosses before in MMOs so its not implausible for a setting to allow that and in Guild Wars 2, full dps team was the optimal setup in almost everything though that might have changed with the expansion.

@le_halfhand_easy I know I'll just ignore him.

@konatachan80 I understand where your arguments come from, but if the game is mainly skill-based and the player experience is all that matters, then the characters should not have levels and instead have ranks. It doesn't make sense to be 100% played skill based and have craftable items + levels and in-game skills when only the player's experience matters. I dunno, but for someone that only watches the anime, it confuses the hell out of me. (Please no wall of text if you reply, thank you.)

"Adaptation is everything" is not an excuse to post idiotic questions that are obvious to waste the time of veterans. No show can escape their source or else they are a completely different show.

Also low level five man dungeon is not hard to solo in a skill based mmo like glory which is based on DNF. It just takes time and you wouldn't get the optimal record, also he had a team to increase the DPS a bit. Pro league is all about teamwork, why did you think Excellent Era's ranking crashed? It is because the team had issues within it preventing them from cooperating with YeXiu, which was the reason he left. (All of this is shown in episode 1 were if you look at the scoreboard in one of the scenes you could see this)

Glory is 80% skill, 15% equipment and 5% skill points. It is based on DNF but first person. Pro league tests not only the individual player strength, but also teamwork, club strength (demonstrated in silver gear), the strength of their supporting guild and other knowledge such as mathematics.

A Pro team consists of not only the players, but also the development department, news department, and guild department. The top of guilds supported by clubs are paid workers whose job is to compete for materials to support the Pro teams gear.

The highly competitiveness of the game means that matches begin far before the pros meet each other. All the fans contribute to their success as well. And every time
The pros lose the fans riot and in game flame wars and massive PK erupt betweeen the club guilds.
