Yeah he's not voiced in the common, heroine and moon route same as normal Rewrite, but is voiced in Terra. Terra is now literally full voiced.

Talking about the changes in Rewrite+, apparently there were a few more or less major changes in Terra... Do you think they'll be applied in the anime too? Or will the anime be more like the original version we know?

I think they will add the change at the end of the route, having Kotarou remember everything... probably. They deleted the encounter with Sakuya where Kotarou becomes the next Rewriter but maybe the anime will keep it... maybe.

I love this so far. Ive never read the vn (nor do i plan too) but so far the series (season 1 and 2) stand on their own quite well. Id give s1 a 8/10 and s2 a 9.

In the image anitrendz posted it said the votes are from February 21-27, that means some votes of this episode went to that poll as it was released in February 25. If 2 days worth of votes for this epic episode weren't enough to make Rewrite at least make it to the top 10, you can begin losing faith in humanity right about now. Or maybe there just aren't enough people watching Rewrite now because of the infamous 1st season, but there were enough people to put Rewrite in 5th place for one week so probably there are enough people, I'll begin cursing the world now.

Rewrite last ep was good, yeah, but I don't think it's enough to put it in top 3. It was only good compared to the whole episodes of the Rewrite anime. Even if first season was decent, it'd only be looked at as slightly better than decent. And Rewrite is only popular among visual novel readers. Other people watching it are either completionists or just weirdly enough actually liked first season because they have shit taste or a broad mind that can watch almost anything (like me) or just not experienced enough in watching anime that they like almost anything they watch. And let's not forget that there are some more popular shows airing at the same time like Konosuba, LWA, Kobayashi, Kuzu no Honkai, Youjo Senki... Rewrite would barely be able to get to top 10 thanks to all of them. Honestly, if this Rewrite episode actually got to top 3, I'd lose complete faith in humanity... Not like I have much faith left anyway.

I dunno man maybe it's just my biased, crazy Rewrite fan, thinking but I loved it, maybe remembering the VN more than seeing it, though. Anyway I don't care if 8shit does everything wrong I just want everyone to like it enough to go read that epic story in the VN and then make it famous enough that a decent studio like ufotable, white fox, madhouse, damn it even deen, anything but 8shit, makes something the story deserves. Like adapt chihaya or akane route or something at least. As impossible as it seems.

I may have worded things out that way but I feel the same way as you, I don't know how many times I tried to convince people that they should go read the great visual novel I love so much instead. About the remake, I don't think that might ever happen, I mean, yeah, it happened with Kanon and all but the chance for that happening to Rewrite is really low tbh. It might have been better not to get an anime in the first place.

It's not 8Bit's fault...please stop being so ignorant. Blame Aniplex instead.

While the first season was quite ok for me, this second season has been great. Its adapting the content from Moon and Terra very well. The only shame is that they are limited to a very low episode count, which i believe is the main factor that makes the adaptation not near as great as the visual novel.

And i hate how everyone likes to exagerate about stuff.

There is no "perfect visual novel adaptation" so far. Even Steins;Gate is poor if you compare with the VN. There is never going to exist the adaptation of the dreams that you people wish for, because visual novels are a completely different medium for a completely different audience. Stop dreaming and enjoy what you have now.

Welp, you don't need to agree with that ofc, but S;G was better anime than vn imo. They cut off pretty much all unnecessary stuff, it's not like they could put every single scene and detail in the anime adaptation, because nobody would watch it :v This was the best adaptation possible for this medium, kept all the important stuff, added pacing that suits 20 minute episode and it worked out perfectly.
Just because it's a different medium it doesn't have to mean that adaptation has to be unquestionably worse :v

(though obviously in Rewrite case it is)

Yes, of course, VN and anime are two totally different things and nobody should expect a literal 1:1 adaptation, I mean really who would want a guy's 20+ hour inner monologue?. But there ARE decent and great adaptations that pick exactly what needs to be portrayed in the anime from the VN and execute it beautifully. 8Shiit does not, at least not compared to the studios that do and it is their fault one way or another because Aniplex supports many other projects with other studios and they do ok, not that I know too much of the anime business but considering almost all their animes aren't any good in my eyes, that is my conclusion. Don't get me wrong I love the Rewrite anime, I can't hate it, but I hate that it didn't and almost certainly will never get, the adaptation it deserves.

Considering we're talking about Aniplex here I do agree it's partly 8bit's fault in a sense, but then on the other hand it's Aniplex's fault mostly because:

- They gave shitty schedules to 3 shows for that season alone
- 2 of them (Rewrite and Qualidea Code) suffered inmensly for the quality in both production stance and gap stance. One of them I haven't seen yet (D.Gray Man Hallow) but I heard that it was all of the above from some manga readers: Production Company and Staff (especially if they hired the incompetent director behind the garbage that is Cross Ange). It is quite a coincidence in a way but these are my two cents.

Not only that I really can't hate 8bit because they have made some decent stuff for my end (Tokyo Ravens, Susume [the underrated af show], Shounen Maid [underrated af too], Aquarion Evol [which was more of a collab but its still part of them, and I gave that show a 9). In this case in terms of lineups, it isn't as bad compared to Arms (which they have nothing remotely good and I only heard one show from their end is good which I haven't checked yet)

That applies to also Light Novels which are probably the least difficult to adapt but its rather hard to translate them to Visual Format, and just like Kitsu said. Just because it's from a different medium, it doesn't mean its worse than the original.

Heck, some cases that would be the OPPOSITE tho if we're talking about adaptations, some shows can be better than their original source materials (well Usagi Drop is an example... never gonna touch that again, Yamada-kun, D.Gray Man [haven't read the manga but I heard that the anime did it better in terms of world building and characterization which I felt it was great], Gakkou Gurashi (because they added more flavor to it compared to the original source) and I can keep going on mentioning.)

I'm going to go on another rant at Aniplex and 8bit if anyone is going to read this.

Another important thing to keep note is the Blu-ray/DVD sales.

Rewrite Vol. 6 was released last week, so I should see how many Blu-ray/DVD was sold. But looking at this chart: it's no where in the list. The Rewrite anime was a complete disaster for Aniplex and VisualArt's because they are going to lose so much money.

http://www.someanithing.com/6716

Even the planetarian movie sold more than Rewrite vol. 1. This shows how shitty Rewrite is in Japan. I remember a post that showed that Rewrite was the WORST selling Key/VisualArt's anime ever. It's so bad that it's not even on the list for even volume 1. And since every volume sells less than the previous volume, I don't think it's even selling 500 copies (Rokka levels bad) right now. God, I won't even know much the last volume will sell for.

At least every volume of Grisaia sold at least 3000 copies through its 24 episodes. Rewrite has barely sold 1k for volume 1.

And wtf is Aniplex thinking putting only 2 episode a volume? That's 13 volumes for 24 episodes. Who's going to keep paying $60 for an awful product FOR 13 MONTHS ($60 * 13 = $780)? You're expecting people to buy a shitty Rewrite anime for a full year and a month? Anyone who even thinks about buying this will get burned out sooner or later.

For a 2-cours, keep it down to 9 volumes, so buyers don't get worn down. Look at Re:Zero, 9 volumes at $60 each. (9 * $60 = $540) And that includes two FREE cardboard boxes to house all 9 volumes with a lot of extras as well as light novel exclusives and tickets. Re:Zero has more episodes than Rewrite (both have an hour-long episode) but it's cheaper. And Re:Zero is an great adaptation and show compared to this trash of a Rewrite anime (which is bad in everything except music). The 2nd season is OK, but the art/CGI and voice acting are still bad.

And a Re:Zero volume is worth the same as a Rewrite volume. But Rewrite is more barebones and it cost more money. Why is that? You did 9 volumes for SAO, Your Lie in April, and most of your 2-cour shows.

Aniplex is so dumb with its marketing since I guess most of its competent staff is focused on SAO and Fate.

Usually Aniplex's Business Practice is very bad when it comes to DVD/BD Sales. I don't know much about the other DVD and BD episode gaps but in all honesty putting 60 bucks on 2 episodes with only having the cover, some stuff and posters (assuming they give those as extras, not sure but correct me if I am wrong) which are minor and small, it's really being pushy.

That's like Puerto Rico levels of shitty business practices with the tax increase and if I buy it (I will only probably buy one volume because I'm poor as fuck and while it is irrelevant to some degree, the taxes in my country have increased, now the taxes are going to be placed on any site that I buy from and assuming maybe these would be on Amazon... Yeah I'm rekt) then I'm rekt af because of it. I think they could have at least done some decency to add exclusives or add some extra stuff you know? More towards the DVDs or some mini stickers or something. But I ain't sure.

Is it me or Kotori's hair looked longer at 0:11 in the PV? Anyway, I can't wait for it. I imagine that this episode will be about Kotarou joining up Kagari and that it'll end up with Kotarou deciding to join Gaia and betray both organisations (with the next one about Gaia)...

Aniplex is so dumb with its marketing since I guess most of its competent staff is focused on SAO and Fate.
well,if you re die-hard fan of rewrite, do u really care about BD sales.
planetarian is regarded as "gem" project by key, and this time David did adapt planetarian well although it's kinda disappointed.

It's not you really. Her hair is longer. But it makes sense. The reason as to why is because of the gap and time passed while he was in the military. Tho it took him like few years? I think if I remember correctly. This makes sense.

Yeah two years and in two years it takes time for the hair to get to that point, so it isn't much of an issue.

Tho not gonna lie I am expecting some fanarts of Kotori having longer hair sooner or later around after the episode finishes airing in Japan :3 (and yes been looking for fanarts on twitter :P)

TIL that the new Mahouka movie coming in June is being animated by 8bit (and not MADHOUSE). I was like WTF!

Maybe that's why Rewrite looks so shit compared to Grisaia. During the Grisaia TV run, the entire team is working on Grisaia. But during the Rewrite TV run, 8bit used all of its talent to the Mahouka movie over the Rewrite TV series. I'm watching this Mahouka movie PV and it looks amazing.

I think Rewrite came at a bad time because of the Mahouka movie. Otherwise, the visuals would have definitely look as good as Grisaia.

When the hell did Chihaya show up in Terra?
Well.. I'm happy they didn't forget about the Tank joke xD
Tomorrow's episode is gonna show up one of the two scenes where I hated Terra Kagari the most, goddammit, I should get as far as possible from the screen and avoid having any sorts of plates around cuz I might break some stuff lol.

IIRC she appears only in the end after Nishikujou finds her when all shit calmed down and then in the epilogue. But I remember that Kotarou said Nishikujou helped a girl in some way by taking her place in something I don't remember so well, but I thought he was talking about Lucia or Shizuru maybe, didn't even begin to imagine it was Chihaya, so who knows.

And what are you hating poor Kagari for man? xD She is like a little kid who knows almost nothing about the world but still has to worry infinitely about its totally confirmed impending demise, as avoiding that is her raison d'etre, but then is betrayed, and it was betrayal as much as it was an inevitable good choice in Kotarou and any readers' eyes, by the only person she thought was destined to help her, just as she was dreading seeing his previous actions. And yes Kagari is my best girl xD

We never really got to see her at all in the Visual Novel but I think it would be interesting to see how they will work it out for her. Since she was the one that barely got any sort of coverup.

That can be at bad timing too because of the Mahouka Movie. But they announced the official stuff at least staff and such weeks ago (probably around 3 weeks ago I can't even remember right) including the studio behind the movie (staff is more so the same except for the core director which the new one is an episode director that worked for Mahouka), I am not sure if they announced a release for the movie but that can affect the production too during that time.

Actually I do have to go and check on that for a moment.

Haha, I only hate Terra Kagari (Moon Kagari is great) and I have many reasons for that tbh. All she did in Terra route was complain and complain and complain and she was goddamn annoying. She should've seriously just shut the fuck up and not show up at all in Terra... AND she tried to kill MY Akane and also complained to Kotarou why he spared her... I have other reasons but these two are enough so YES, she's to be hated.

Those are justified because this isn't the usual Kagari that we know before Terra Route... and yeah she gets annoying but in some essence that's what makes her like she is in this route. She doesn't understand shit about the human race and how they act so I can't really blame her but I can understand.

I will be genuinely pissed when we get to the later portions of the series if they adapt or showcase what Kotarou did to Kotori. Yes, I know that is justified in terms of his actions, but it really bugs me that he had to treat Kotori like that in that scenario... it gave me a big sour mouth. xD

C'mon I'd think you know that all her actions are totally justified from her point of view, knowing how she had limited time and means to develop her personality and knowledge and thus knows nothing about humans morals and values. And just so you know, if Kotarou hadn't taught her that she shouldn't be seen and hadn't decided not to lie to her saying "yeah she could tell someone about you" as impossible as it was, then as she said, she wouldn't harm any homo sapiens without reason, so your reasons for hating Kagari are now Kotarou's fault hate him not poor Kagari (and yes I agree, Moon is best).

Even though he said all that to her he did it all so that she would get away from all the incoming danger, just imagine him being nice to her and her following him to the Guardian wild party that happened after that, and as Kotarou was really busy protecting a disabled Kagari, odds are Kotori would have been killed. And even later he sends Nishikujou for her so Kotori would then understand Kotarou still did it all for her sake. He had to be THAT bad to her or she still would've wanted to help him. It's all good in the end imo.

I mean as I said, I get that he did it to prevent her from following him further, especially with the specific stuff that he did in the VN, but it kinda does make me feel angry. This is more just a pick here though, it's a pinch of salt I have.

OMG yeah THAT scene is coming DAAMN. I remember when I saw the end of THAT scene in the VN I just kept looking at the words in the screen like for an hour (not really but yeah). I guess THAT scene will be in the final episode as it is just minutes away from the climax.

Kotarou went to get Akane in the city of stone where all gaians were. He was screaming that when Gaians were holding him from taking away their holy woman... Holy shit, I especially love that moment when they got out when his parents and Nagai pushed him outside... Uwah, I really wanna see that scene.
