| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- They really put importance into a scarf this episode...especially one that's so unusual. I think that new girl also falls in love way too easily. Literally love at first sight. The ice skating segment was kinda fun. I find it funny at how nervous Rinne is there. The little girl is scary when she's angry lol |

| Another original story ep. Scarf soul? That's why everyone's afraid of getting choked when received. The girl went to learn to knit scarf and the soul came. The buchou (Endou-san?) is somehow related. She made that scarf a year ago and wanted to give to a senpai she loves, but another girl gave him. So it was jealous and kind of sad that the senpai gave up on it. Thought it would be solved if Rinne receive it, but he's not the one. The one with senpai's type (not so handsome) appeared, and he is gone. A skater girl's soul pushing the children on ice skating. She's waiting to train another kid who hates her and ice skating. He grew up now. Kiss was accidental and became awkward. The letter was to tell him because she was going to move out. It seems like they loved each other but had misunderstanding. About Kain and Renge (w. Sabato returning) next. |

| The scarf one could be better if we thrown Jumonji in the mix but still it was funny seeing Rinne so excited for recieving a present from his crush. The ice skate skit was a pretty moving story and also funny with that punchline. In the next one, the Father of All Years makes a comeback, I am so happy for his return. |
| Heh, that Rinne exit was perfect. Hnng, this Mamiya Sakura. So good.  And that slight blush. Looks like next time we get some Renge x Kain, and she doesn't want him to find out she's a damashinigami. I figured as much from the OP. |

| The first half was simple, but I enjoyed Rinne's desire to have a hand knitted scarf from Sakura :) The second half was a little sad at the end :( But Rinne bailing out of paying for repairs cheered up the mood LOL :) |

| The scarf part was cool because Rinne was super excited about receiving one from Sakura. Poor Yukina-chan, she waited a long time for her first love to come. |

| To me it feels like this show is getting sloppy. Rokudou used his scythe in the presence of others without the haori and they talked to Rokumon in the presence of a normal human. Neither created any reaction. I also wish they would stop explaining the haori every episode. I get that the shinigami tools are a gimmick this series uses but it feels too lazy now. They always have exactly what he needs. It would be more fun if they were at least always defective in some way. On the other hand, i feel that the ice skating story is probably the best one for this series so far. But it would've been better if the grown-up Shizuka would've shown some emotion considering . I'm really not a fan of the one-sided romance that's starting between Rokudou and Mamiya. It wouldn't be a Takahashi show without romance but i don't like how emotionless Mamiya always is. I find it more fun when they're up-front about it like how Ageha is. |
| That girl's voice at 3:07 sounded way too familiar and I looked up Aoi Koga on AnimeNewsNetwork and sure enough, it was her! She is now known for voicing really popular characters like Komi Shouko and Shinomiya Kaguya but you look at her ANN page and you'll see she voiced a ton of extras in the past. And unfortunately, "Female Student B" is the only role she had in RINNE. That scarf's story was weird. In Rinne's universe, it feels like anything could develop consciousness if you put strong enough emotions behind it, no matter what it is. Can't be a Rumiko Takahashi series without one episode of ice skating. And like other Rumic protagonists, Rinne can't skate either. Though it was funny how he quickly ran away at the end. The next episode will feature Kain and Renge. And as the OP implied they both have a thing for each other. Or at least one of them does. Kain is my least favorite character in Rinne. But I think I can tolerate him if it features both Renge and Sabato. |
