Subaru must really be madly in love with Emilia then I suppose - I will of course support any love interest our cute confused little puppy MC wants to chase 8) This episode also eased a lot of qualms I had about Subaru as a character. I think I can finally understand a bit of what went on in his head when he did so many severely irrational things back in the last 5 or so episodes. And I mean, a more sound reason than "subaru_rational_thinking.exe has stopped working due to an unexpected mental trauma" --- edit: --- After all, the way he lived as a NEET before coming to this world really played an important role in his self-image. But we never really saw much of what he was like before he got transported to this world. I feel like this episode finally touched the subject of Subaru's past in a meaningful way, for the first time. All we got before were confident, boisterous self deprecating remarks that came across as if Subaru couldn't care less. |
