| I don't honestly know how many of the AN Club members even check this, so this may not even be viable. Anyway, since observer started this whole tournament mess, he hasn't handled it well (before the debacle, he accidentally eliminated two winning shows between rounds, Scrapped Princess and one other). Anyway, I've wanted to do one better, that makes more sense, so I'm here to pitch my idea. Basically, we'll start with nominations, this will last a few days, and everyone can nominate 5-10 series. From all the series nominated, I'll place them in a fitting bracket (If there are too many for bracket type, I'll do random elimination of the series with the least votes) After that I'll hold voting for each match up for 6-4 hours (But since we're holding it here, I may extend that to a longer time span, like maybe 12), and the series with the most votes at the end of the time period advances to the next round. I may hold multiple matches at once, to speed things along. Anyway, post here if you like the idea or dislike the idea and should just let this die. If you have any suggestions to make this better, then by all means, make them. However, if we're not going to get that many members here voting, there won't be that much of a point. |

We just had a tournament and we're all still covered in mud, and there aren't that many people on here. We should wait for this club to grow. MAL is a great tool, and we get our own forum as an added bonus. I think we should let the tournament idea sit on the back burner for a little while. I'll most certainly participate if there is one, and I'd volunteer to moderate the matches(I don't mean as a moderator, moderator, but having several "official(lol)" people to move the tournament along is a good idea). I think we should just try to get more people to come to MAL and expand the club before rushing into a tournament. That's just how I feel. Everyone is free to use this however they want(I should probably read MAL's actual rules someday), so if you want to go for it, then go for it. I won't try to stop you nor should I. I agree. |
| ^That is of course, the main problem here, members. I can start this whenever, to be honest. If nobody wants to start now, we can wait a few months down the road, and when more members are here, I can kick start this again. As long as this thread is here, people can still make comments and suggestions and whatever. |

Alright, well, for now we'll put this idea on hold for a few months or whenever we get a good amount a members. | I hate dialup, i posted this once already.. When/if we do it, why not make it a daily vote, then everyone is given a chance to vote. I know you may be thinking it will take forever with all those shows but if you do multiple 3 way votes each day they will be eliminated quickly. Example Round 1 Vote 1 Blah vs Blah 2 vs Blah 3 Vote 2 Bleh vs Bleh 2 vs Bleh 3 People vote Vote 1 Blah gets 5 Blah 2 get 4 Blah 3 gets 0 Vote 2 Bleh gets 5 Bleh 2 gets 4 Bleh 3 gets 0 Something like a week later you should have all them done. then: Round 2 (can make 2 brackets here winner/loser bracket, or randomize, or have winner from one vote vs loser of another...so they wont basically be revoting etc) Vote 1 Blah 1 vs Bleh 2 Vote 2 Blah 2 vs Bleh 1 Or something like that. The main problem people had was inability to vote on time and a daily covers all time zones. |
