| It's funny, because when I first read chapter one of the Shugo Chara manga and was introduced to Amu, I couldn't stand her for some reason. With those punky clothes of hers, I was expecting a strong and independent sort of character... but then it turned out she was a girl who was merely pretending to have a strong outside while she in reality was very unsure of herself. I was utterly disappointed. Which was also why I didn't continue reading any further than just one chapter. But once I quite recently started to watch the anime, I fell in love with her after only a couple of a episodes. I don't know about other people here, but I for one had the same problem as a child as Amu has now; namely not being sure of what your real character really is, your true personality. This made me able to identify myself in Amu... or well, at least my childhood self. Then there's also the fact that the girl is so utterly adorable, both in personality and in looks. How can one not love her? <3 |
