Well that was ...kinda sad almost. Not the part that she cried because of the loss but because of this series is almost over ;_;

Maybe we'll get one last spar.

NOOOOOOO I don't want the manga to end. There are many shitty sports manga out there at the moment. Why Teppu? WHY!!

What are they going to publish instead? It seems that they canceled, because it doesn't make sense talking about the next tournament if the author didn't want to go on. It is a shame :( .

I read somewhere (so unconfirmed) that the artist was dealing with health issues, and made this the end. A rushed ending is better than no ending after all. Imagine if the last chapter never came out, because it really gets axed. That would suck balls. At least they left it open for a continuation, because they've been mentioning the G-girl tournament since chapter one.
Let's all hope the series returns one day with a continuation!

Also, chapter 33 is the end. For anyone wondering why there's no chapter "34" is likely because of chapter Volume 6, chapter 26.5 where there's a break between the caged fights. That chapter isn't really relevant to the overall story, but it's a nice extra chapter nonetheless.

We will see I suppose. But they usually give a final chapter even if they cancel the serie. I hope that the author is ok anyway.

MAL is far from being my primary site for literature, which is why I’ve stopped doing single-chapter updates. Baka-Updates and two French sites are far superior—more detailed, complete, and less restrictive. They're perfect for manga, light novel, and book collectors like me, making the process much less stressful and tiring. -g-

I'm really confused atm...

I've never disliked the mc in a manga/anime as much as in this one. Don't get me wrong, it was a good read, but god she has a shitty personality... Not a bad character, but yea...

Would love to see a continuation with the tournament, but if the mangaka is having health issues that seems unlikely.

Oh well, 6/10.

Nice. I really enjoyed Natsuo as character. Complex, quite clearly not the best person out there, but also someone you can relate to.

I really enjoyed this manga, love the main girl, it definitely feels like it was cancelled or stopped too early for whatever reason, still it's an actual ending, not stopped in the middle of a fight, can't say i'm satisfied so i hope that if it had to do with the author one day he continues it.

Damn, it ended. I really enjoyed this, and it gave me similar vibes to Holyland, which is a great thing. Really liked the characters, and it was great to see that Natsuo's brother stopped being a drug addict (that's what I got from looking at him). It would be cool to see a sequel to this one day, since there's so much more that can happen.

I think he was just a regular hikkikomori with no drug addiction involved. Nevertheless, it was good to see him fine by the end. I guess it was the only actual conclusion in this manga, since there are a lot of loose ends in this ending.

Had one hell of a great read, at one point I couldn't stop and had to finish this in one go.

Natsuo was an extremely interesting MC and equally amusing to boot. Yuzuko as the typical hard working girl was nice too( she would make a good sports shounen protagnist) In fact it was cool to read a manga where you could follow the pov of the girl who would usually play the antagonist.

I also liked all the training sessions and of course the fights. Most conclusions came quicker than expected, but that's appropriate for an MMA themed series.

My only gripe was how rushed it was towards the end, even tho it was a satisfying ending. Still feels bad that there's no sequel.

This manga is pretty interesting for such a short read. Natsuo comes across as the throwaway prodigy enemy in a typical sports manga, while Yuzuko seems like the protagonist character that wins through pure hard work and determination. However, in Teppu, Natsuo is the main character instead. Natsuo first came across as strangely sadomasochistic, but seeing her family situation makes a lot of sense.

She's cursed with her own natural talents in a particular way where she succeeds at anything without really trying. This ends up giving her brother a hell of an inferiority complex, who in turn takes it out Natsuo. So, Natsuo wants is to find someone who could beat her fair competition, but also get revenge against everyone who ever bullied her brother, which includes herself. So, by losing, she can properly cry and complain about someone being better than her, despite her own hard work. In other words, she can come across as a normal person, opening her brother back up.

That being said, by the end she still had a terrible personality, so the journey goes on I guess.

Dude... I don't understand. Talking about the meaning, the end is horrible let me confirm if am I wrong or not.
In the end she dremed what happend with her brother and she beated up her mother or something. I'm pretty confused but if thats it she's totally fcked up in the head.
Edit: forget what I said about her mother but about the brother I think she dreamed it by the chat she have with her friend.

yes that was a dream but it's true that her brother came to watch her fight.
We see him in the end getting back some of his old self and getting out of his room while someone was in the living room ( his mom )

Definitely felt like the manga had the legs to go for longer. Shame about that.

Anyway, I really liked this. I always enjoy fighting manga and its nice to see one focused on female fighters. I also liked Natsuo a lot. Not a standard MC but that's what makes her so entertaining.

I agree with almost all that has been said in this thread. Specifically, I wish the manga went longer, I understand the MC is a bit quirky and twisted personality (which made me like them), there were some unfinished mysteries like the family situation, and I especially agree that Yuzuko could be a protagonist. I did see that it was speculated that the artist had health issues and it is quite unfortunate that it ended where it did. But I also do agree with the person who said the update: it’s way better to have a rushed ending than no ending at all. Either way, I personally liked it and its quirky characters. As a bitter sweet person, I find the ending kind of fitting for the quirky MC: choosing an uphill battle with seemingly no end (due to the abrupt ending).
I hope this review finds you well and I hope you have a nice day.

Really interesting manga. I particularly enjoyed the reversal of roles, because the bitter prodigy character is usually the antagonist or rather the rival of the hard working, super motivated main character. Son Goku and Vegeta, Naruto and Sasuke ... You get the idea.

It's pretty obvious that in the real world being a naturally gifted person isn't something that's going to be enough to make you happy, because people are going to be envious of your effortless successes. So unless you find the one sport you want to dedicate your life to, there's not going to be much fun involved. Natsuo specifically went to a sports focused school with presumably some of the best female athletes of her age in Japan, so I imagine her still not finding proper challenges was really frustrating, especially since she didn't seem to understand why people don't like her.

Anyway from what I understand she was really envious of Mawatari because she saw how motivated she was in working hard and the sheer fun she had. She was everything Natsuo wants to be. So losing to someone this hard-working was her very goal, which is why she was thinking that she 'has won' while getting choked out in the final match. I think there was also some lesbian energy involved, all that blushing can just be a weird choice of style, but I think there's more to it. In one panel she was specifically thinking "You're so beautiful" so it's not even that subtle about it.

It ended by Natsuo finally losing despite working hard, finally seeing her own limits for once and also reconnecting with her brother, at least a little. Her continuing MMA can be interpreted in different ways I suppose. The way she's phrasing it makes her seem unlikable because it sounds like she wants to make sure Mawatari won't continue to have fun, so it makes it seem like she hasn't changed, but I think she's simply a little delusional. She finally found something that's fun and a goal to strive for, but she can't quite accept it yet, so she twists it in this way. Guess she can't admit it yet, especially not verbally.

I liked the manga, although the first half took quite a while to get going and I think it could still go on longer and finish the whole character arc for good. I'm fine with the ending though.
