Something I thought of; since we deduced that the right up/down arrows only work in certain browsers, why not replace those with the ones on the left instead as well (since they evidentially work)?

In other words replacing these:

with these

Easier for everyone that way

Well they are the little triangles because they're black arrows.
Aesthetically I prefer to arrows over the triangles. It is a more impactful symbol.

Hmm, i don't know, if the arrows are not displaying for everyone then i think it should be replaced, but it'd be nice if the arrow for rank and score change is different, maybe we try to find another symbol we can all agree on.

I tried looking around with different ascii symbols for a bit and eventually ended up with these:

which look decent enough and seem to work for all browsers so I took the liberty of replacing them

and yes I had a pretty lengthy discussion with Xia last night and that's he decided to try it out starting tomorrow, so I'll do my last update for the moment tonight

Well I've just tested it in Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and Safari at least and it works in all of them

Though they look a bit chubbier in Firefox and a bit skinnier in Safari for whatever reason but even there they're still passable I think

Okay, so i just got home and looked at it on my firefox browser, and i can see Hib's point, doesn't look as huge, i was previously using my phone's browser and it looked big, bold and beautiful, but on PC, it's a bit smaller and the transparent area in the middle makes it even less noticeable, we'll have to either increase the size or search for another one, this is the site i mainly use though.

Ok so I've tried tons of different combos and... really nothing is perfect

The only ones that have any decent look are either the hollow ones I used before or these current skinny ones. Anything else either looks terrible or doesn't work in Chrome. Most importantly though: DON'T CHANGE THE FONT SIZE

Like seriously if you increase it from like 130 to 170, the entire line breaking gets completely messed up. It looked obnoxiously bad

So... idk, either go with what it is now or with what I tried earlier today. Personally I still prefer the old look, I didn't have any problems with that at least

and Hib you didn't have to screenshot it while I was still testing things out >_<

Btw that copypastecharacters site is pretty obvious with what works and not. If you open it in Firefox, everything looks fine. If you open it in Chrome, pretty much the first four rows work, and everything else is just a blank square (except for some stuff in the bottom but there are no up/down arrows there). So regardless of which it has to be something from the top four rows then

So now everything is skinny which I guess is better than the fat one but still very obtuse aesthetically.

Because neither the up or the down arrows looked like that for me. The green ones were slimmer and the red ones were thicker. More importantly they were the same size, like that:

I can't help but feel like this is way more trouble than it's worth... like can't we come up with something simpler which is guaranteed to work? Like instead of using unicode characters, why not use a tiny screenshot of an arrow and post it as an [img]?

Really this has to logically be the smartest solution, right? I think it looks just fine now. Bit off-center vertically perhaps but that's about it

So the art department search seems to be at a standstill her. So I tried to incorporate helping out the MSP with my expansion of the art department in A.G. with giving the people interested tasks to complete for practice here. So hopefully will have a new club picture and banner for affiliations soon ^.^.

I want us to be close affiliates anyways so hopefully this can be the first step in that direction.

Okay so... I was just thinking about something; what exactly are the right-side arrows in the Score Change list supposed to represent here? In the MAL Score list it's obvious but I was thinking that either I've used them wrong in the first list, or the club description of them is wrong

The club description says that they "indicate that the score has risen/fallen" from the last week. I always wondered why that was really relevant in the Score Change list since that's not really that kind of list to begin with, but I just did it anyway. But could it be that what you actually mean to say with them is that they "indicate that the score change has risen/fallen"? Because that's a totally different matter here. If we say that an anime had +0.02, +0.01 and +0.01 the last three weeks. Then the next update is also +0.01. In that case the score will have risen (so it should have a green arrow), but the score change has fallen, from +0.04 to +0.03 and in that case it should be a red arrow. So... which is it? It has to be one or the other given that they can evidentially be contradictory. If it's supposed to be the latter then I'll just say that I've done it wrong all this time but in that case you should probably change the club description as well since it's not really accurate the way it is right now

It's actually the latter but I thought the 'latest 3 weeks ' was a good enough explanation of what that particular ranking was about.

Okay, I just changed the arrows of eight entries (shimoneta, prison school, gate, working, joukamachi, akagami, ushio, jitsu), which should now reflect whether the score change of the last three weeks has risen or fallen.

I'm going to think it was rust but when I started doing the lists I started to feel this giant weight on me and got really overwhelmed where for at least 5 minutes I was staring at my computer and after the first list then I got this giant throbbing headache.

I think it is just the format of the way I use to do the update doesn't flow with the new features and it is something I need to re-evalute how I do to make it go more smoother so this doesn't happen again. For someone who cares about the quality of my work...was definitely not feeling comfortable today.

But once again I think it was just rust that turned into a psychological thing. The lists are pretty intimidating though XD. There is so many steps and if you get very perfectionist about it definitely can eat at you.
