The new OP song is alright I guess..
I liked the previous one better though.

The action was a bit so-so. For Arslan and his group to defend against a damn army, I think they are doing well. Hell, even Alfreed is contributing. Lol, drunk:

Well at least Arslan gets more allies.

A good start to the second half. I'm curious to know if we'll have to wait for a second season because it seems that this second cour will be about this new nation.

Anyway solid progression and the new OP and ED are decent.

Just as Narsus foretold, Sindhura contravened all 3 principals of war, thus paid the price in full, despite having a larger army. They actually didn't have much of a chance to begin with, considering how poorly Rajendra was leading them.

Wonder why Silver Mask didn't take the chance to attack Arslan again when he clearly saw Narsus and Daryun leaving the citadel. What business does he have at Ecbatana that's more important than killing Arslan?

The drinking contest was pretty funny. Of course, Gieve would be the only one to pass out. Not surprised to see how well Farangis could hold her liquor either.

Well, Rajendra and Arslan has now formed an alliance, but for some reason, he still seems a bit shady. Looks like his elder brother Gadevi's underling already sent someone on the move.

Decent episode. New OP is good but previous one was indeed better. Kalafina ED is great though.

Kalafina sounding the same as usual.

Liked the episode, only wondering why Silver Mask didn't take the chance, he could have killed Arslan easily right there.

New OP is a genertic anime opening, but a least it's not a cringeworthy unfitting as the first OP. I like the ED - at last Kalafina's song that sounds differently.

It was a nice episode. Kosuke Toriumi nailed it as Rajendra.

Esp the hype parts along with the awesome visuals :3
Sux to see Sam fighting against Kishward Arslan's side now D:

Gieve coming in between Farangis and Rajendra was so lol

I really wonder the same thing as Daryuun. Can he be trusted? I don't see him in the OP&ED as an ally :P

I like the new OP and ED music-wise. Unlikely they'll top the old ones for me (especially the old ED) but they'll definitely grow on me more.

Prince Rajendra is fascinating :o The drinking scene gave me a good laugh.

They're going to make him king first but when he's king he doesn't have to help Arslan thou.

Looks like he was shaken by that old guy dying for him. Maybe way further down the line, Silver Mask and Arslan will be able to come to a compromise..?

Is that based off the ED? I was wondering whether that was Rajenda or the spy... Hopefully Arslan succeeds in helping Rajenda succeed to the crown, and the spy is so impressed by Arslan that he changes allegiances ? Lol.

Rajendra is an idiot, im not so happy about Arslan trying to help an idiot gain the throne. Here's to hoping Gadevi is an even worse option.

It feels like the episodes are getting shorter and shorter each week.
Though im starting to loose faith, that they can roll up the entire story in just mere 9 episodes.
At the other hand, i seriously hope that means, at least 1 more season is coming.
Great episode a usual!

How dare they change the magnificent ED? and for just another Kalafina?!
Silver Mask gets a perfect opportunity to kill Arslan, but nope the plot armor is in full effect.
Arslan giving orders around, he feels more like a king now huh.
Rajendra is unworthy of succeeding to the throne after having his army torn apart, what does Arslan see in him?

New OP is ok, I like the new ED more (although I liked the first OP and ED more compared to these two). Some nice action, and Arslan and Rajendra formed an alliance. I feel like Rajendra can't be completely trusted though.

That was hilarious when Gieve slid in between Falangies and Rajendra at the party lol

New OP/ED give off a different tone than the old ones. I can't say I like them, but ehh. They're starting off the second half with an alliance; wonder how they'll deal with Rajendra's succession as they're getting ready to deal with their own problems. Lol at the Prince's army falling apart and at Gieve.

Rajendra doesn't strike me as the most useful ally one can find, but he may still surprise. And speaking of surprises, Alfreed actually managed to be useful against my expectations. I wonder how long she'll hold that torch for Narsus though.

Rajendra and his men got rekt lol....Great strategy and battle plan there by Narsus and Daryuun, this guy's never saw it coming

This alliance seems like a good idea but I dunno how this will play out considering that rather than Rajendra joining the actual crew, this hidden spy for his brother's camp will instead so I dunno what's going to happen

Overall it was a good episode and I'm hoping that this alliance lasts because Arslan really needs it....The drinking game was hilarious too btw....Farangies is too awesome xD

OP song wasn't as good as the first one but I liked the visuals of it more than the first one...

lol at Arslan finding his resolve and needlessly stating obvious during generals meeting.
It was nice to see that even Daryus doesn't believe in his abilities.

And why are they leaving fortress instead of defending it with its advantage?

But I still can't believe my eyes that they almost decimate enemy army only to ask them to join... that has the be the worst idea Arslan ever had o_O

Yes, Rajendra the bae! Loving the character designs for the Sindhurans. I was worried they wouldn't portray their India-inspired designs properly but they definitely did. Rajendra's lip ring and goatee, and Jasawant's beautiful abs... I think I'm going to enjoy this part even more than I did in the OVAs.

Feel bad for Gieve. Farangis clearly has a thing for Rajendra.

Also Rajendra seems to shady to trust. But lets see how this works out.
However, for a 25 episode show, this is going extremely slow

Damn, Narsus just taught Rajendra the three principles of war.
Lol, Rajendra and Gieve drink it out for Farangis, but she wins this time.

Rajendra forms an alliance with Arslan to take down Gadevi.
And a spy among ranks? Seems like he'll join Arslan's cause though.

The invading army outnumbers them 5 to 1. It would be a simple thing to lay siege to the fortress and wait for them to give up. By leaving the fortress and attacking them at night with all of Narsus's plans, they were able to win despite the numbers.

Narsus is evil lol. He first had a 50,000 strong army defeated by only 10,000 men and then he set up everything for Rajendra becoming their ally. Rajendra couldn't say "no". He wasn't given that option by Narsus.

This is a rather smart move by Arslan. After helping out Rajendra, they will now get an ally from the outside to support Arslan and also provide some mercenaries if needed. It's a win-win situation. But Daryun hasn't fully trusted Rajendra as he can always betray them once he ascends the throne. There's no guarantee that he'll keep his word till the very end especially considering that he was forced into this situation. This should be good.

The new OP is good, but I prefer the previous OP. That was better. Although the opening animation is better now. The ED is meh, just like the previous ED.

New OP and ED are alright. I like the first ones more though.

I'm growing weary of the nature of this story though. Making a deal with Rajendra is a smart move (assuming he proves trust-worthy in the end), but do we honestly believe Arslan had a place in making that deal? He's nothing more than a mascot as a King. He's not being manipulated, but he's doing nothing himself. I would be less worried about this were the characters not consistently hinting that his "kindness" is his best attribute as a future King....

I say that after every episode, but Arslan really grows on me more and more.
I've never loved very much a character who wasn't a badass and an adult (or looks like an adult). Arslan would be my first.

The fights weren't action packed but they were nice to see, Arslan is forming more alliances.
The only thing I disliked was that no one discussed about Arslan's bloodline and ignored the most intense scene that happened in previous episode.

+1

Not to mention his character developement is pretty nonexistent, even so long into series. He's still pretty much the same boy he was at the beginning. He heavily relies on others with his decisions. And this is even more true when we realize this should be the series about his rise to the throne.

I understand your reasoning but even big army without supplies is doomed when sieging heavily defended fortress in winter (not to mention they weren't used to snow). Whereas their plan relied on three parts strategy that would go pretty bad if one those parts didn't work out.

And am I the only one who wonders how Narsus is always able to gather so accurate informations about their enemies that he can devise each of their plans on it?
