I wasn't a big fan of all that implied bl. Don't get me wrong, I am not against bl, but the way it took over the show annoyed me. Initially, I liked the show then it became all about bromance and not enough plot. So is this movie better than the tv series or the same?

I found both the TV series and movie were equally amazing. Then again I have a huge bias over K Project so....

Tbh, I don't think the "implied BL" ruined the show. There are plenty of reasons why it didn't work out well.

I've heard lots of good things from this movie so far, like how it concludes it better than the TV series.

Hmmm thanks for the replies. Guess I will watch it during my summer holidays (the holidays which are a just a hallucination. I hate entrance exams)

The anime was solely plot driven with little character development while the novels and manga side stories tended more to the character development side of things.

Also K Countdown is the manga sequel to Missing Kings movie and there will be Return of Kings prologue Drama CDs so if you don't read it or listen you'll probably miss out on some stuff that bridges over to season 2's premier in Fall. So if your not a manga or LN reader your missing out on a lot of the story and character motivations and development.

Thats one of the reasons its probably not well received here on MAL. At least thats what I think. xD

I second this. I have read a lot of complaints about "character development" or overall "story" and none of those people seem to care to research that the manga and light novels are part of the whole project.

I agree, this series is a project that includes everything. Moreover the novel "K Side Red" is really nice, everyone should read it.

I need to start with chapter 2 soon. From what I read so far its really great and I like how Anna's Aunt is tied in with the Homra's trios past (Mikoto,Kusanagi, and Totsuka). She was their teacher. xD

K is a show with fan service for both males and females. There is just as much tits and ass as well as good fights and the best OST since samurai champloo.

For example people dropped this show because in ep 1 shiro blushed when kuro grabbed him to run away from the reds... But then in the very next ep shiro was laying in bed with a big boo bed naked cat girl and blushing about that.. So I never got all the hate in regards to that.

About the movie it's all part of the same series. IMO the movie is just a continuation of the first series so if you didn't like first season or didn't watch it there's no reason to watch movie either. K is a show that's supposed to be experienced with season 1 first then the movie then season 2. For people like me who love this show I'm sure we like them all. Only downside of movie is shiro doesn't show up until end. On the contrary it's got some of best animated fights in the series and one of the most epic battle themes I've heard in a while!

This is by far one of the best new animes I've seen in a while. Even though the movie is almost a year older than the new series, I recommend re-watching the movie after the first episode of the new season. Then the second episode as it was probably intended. For whatever reason it was produced this way, the movie takes place after the first episode and before the second of the new series. Explaining most of the gaps in the story between eps. 1 and 2. And it will make it much easier to follow whats going on in episodes 3 and 4.

The movie is more insert than a prequel as it explains what happened to Mikoto, why Anna is the new Red King, where Shiro was, and what happened to all the Gold clan members as well as the Gold King.

I think people are jumping into the new series with out thinking about the connection between the movie and episodes 1 and 2 of the new series. The movie is what actually fills in the huge chunk of story that's "missing". But watching ep.1, the movie, ep2 in that order will clear up a lot more unanswered questions.
