If anything this was one of the stronger chapters of this series and that's saying something since everything so far has been done so wonderfully well. If you recall Watari says that Kousei is the one that Kaori relies upon the most, so Watari always tries to bring Kousei along. Unfortunately Kousei is still stuck in his belief that he is only a substitute friend and Watari is the one that she truly likes. Also we get Tsubaki taking the first step outside of her "frozen time" zone. She's risking their current friendship in order for him to realize that the girl who loves him is right next to her. This chapter was a real struggle to read. It really shows the strength and development the author has ingrained into each of the main characters sans Watari. I'm having a hard time in who to root for because they are all so likable, but I would still love for Kousei and Kaori to get together...even if just for a little bit. |
| I don't think his realtionship with Tsubaki will change to a romantic one. He doesn't see her that way, and frankly I can't see him ever seeing her that way, but just as a friend. I don't think it was a weak chapter at all but I prefer the music ones etc. I can see him winding up with the little sister when they are a bit older more than I can see him with Tsubaki. But I'd like him to be with Kaori. |

| I have to disagree on him on the thinking that she is only a friend, if he is conscious of her presence and that small little blush could be a difference in their relationship. I do feel that their opposite personalities work well together rather than his crush on Kaori, they both have the same goal and she is more of a pretender while as Tsubaki didn't realize her true feeling until the end. |

Confucius said: Cmon guys, I ship Emi x Kousei lol +1 Kaori finally lost my favor with this chapter, but I liked Emi better from the beginning. Kaori has been treating Arima pretty terrible for a while now. It's to the point where I really don't think she can make it up to him in the 5 chapters we have left. My ship preference for Arima, as of now: #1: Emi She's attractive and straightforward, sometimes shy and sometimes assertive, talented and knows what she wants from the beginning of her story. She can be moody and impulsive in an endearing way and that time she went to see Arima play in disguise was hilarious. #2: Nagi: She's cute talented and, yes, manipulative and sometimes acts bipolar, but in a much more tasteful way than Kaori. I like her catch phrase and her introduction where she would throw stuff at him, I thought that was really funny. Her character development is pretty solid too. #3: Kashiwagi: (she's probably not interested but I like her character). She's not afraid to lie to Tsubaki to get her to realize her feelings. She usually has a deadpan expression, but she definitely cares for Tsubaki and possibly others too. She also tells it like it is, which is refreshing. #4: Tsubaki: On the plus side she's dedicated and a good friend. I have to admit, I'm usually annoyed by the childhood friend romance option, so you can take this with a grain of salt. However, I don't like how out of touch with herself she was. You can call it character development that she finally realizes who she has a crush on but I call it gaining common sense. #5: Kaori: On the good side she woke Arima up from his humdrum life, is attractive, a free spirit and talented musician. This chapter she was bumped below Tsubaki. She doesn't have to treat Arima with love if she doesn't want to but she could at least try to be more kind to him. She's taken advantage of Kousei for far too long. Especially since he's doing everything in his power to try to pay her back. |
