This series deserves to be seen for the macabre comedy that manages to express, Nakamura going to sneak back to the two lovebirds and something horribly sick! Then see his reaction to the end of the talk ill of Kasuga is something epic, get to give him a bucket of water to expose him in front of Saeki is a meanness worthy of his folly I hate to think after this appointment, what the future holds that fool of Kasuga!

This was so awkward to watch, I don't know I will be able to watch the part in the mountains (my favourite scene in manga).

I like this version of ending song more.

Please, someone needs to do a .gif of Nakamura running after she has dropped the water in the guy. I mean, that should be the symbol of trolling and running away, putting fire and then watching the world burn. hahaha so epic

I really hated this episode, im getting more and more annoyed by Kasuga's socially retarded behaviour. Really only people with issues (autism for example) act like this.

In my opinion the idea of turning a fictional manga story into a "realistic" environment was a really bad idea, since there are so many things in the story that just don't happen in real life. As much as people wanna call the art and story realistic, it just isn't. I mean, which girl go on a date with somebody that barely says a word, or what person steals somebody's gym clothes in the first place?

In manga you can get away with these things but if your intention is to make a realistic story, don't copy a manga (which is great btw).

Why didn't he took off that goddamned Saeki's gym clothes in some secluded place such as a toilet?

The reason why he can't rid of Saeki's cloth, is he still thinks his crime could be undone by returning it before no one knows. This can be observed in ep 2, typical crime psychology of youth.

Too bad it has already failed due to Nakamura, but if he shreds/combusts/disposes it, his guilt will be irreversible.
So it is the evidence of his crime but at the same time his last hope of innocency. At least in his mind.

I haven't read manga so it may be wrong though.

WTF was that really colorful acid background... it stood out like a sore thumb against the normally drab surroundings of the show.

Lol, he hadn't listened to a word of her chat in the cafe. That's a terrible thing to do during a date... but then again he had bigger problems to worry about. I thought the "Heaven" scene and water splash scenes were too long, though.

I seriously hate Kasuga's weak personality, it frustrates the fuck out of me. Why would he be scared of Nakamura telling his entire class that he was the one that stole Saeki's cloths? Nobody in his class likes Nakamura so chances of them believing her is very slim. All Kasuga's gotta do it act confident that he wasn't the one who did it and throw away Saeki's cloths. Watching Kasuga being forced to wear Saeki's cloths is just painful and when Nakamura poured water over him made me cringe.

Me too ! I soon started to count the number of times that the "heaven"
scene was repeated. I kept expecting that they HAD to stop soon. They
repeated that scene to the point where 100% of the viewers would
surely be seriously irritated by it.

I am pretty sure that the director intentionally does a lot of things to irritate,
insult, and make fun of the audience. There are many examples of this.

Maybe the director thinks that we are masochists, and that we crave this
mistreatment. Maybe he is a sadist and enjoys treating us this way.

If he is "S" and we are all "M" then everybody will be happy.

Do you even Japan? He would have to commit sudoku if people found out about it. Or just go far far away and ruin the life of his parents. You've seen it yourself that she's stronger than him. Bitch is crazy. She may even kill his family if he doesn't listen to her.

Seppuku (切腹, "cutting the belly") is a form of Japanese ritual suicide.

Harakiri (腹切り, "belly cutting") is a slightly different way of saying exactly
the same thing. But apparently the connotations are a bit different. I think it
is a fair statement that "harakiri" is a synonym for "seppuku".

The character 切 is the verb meaning "to cut".
The character 腹 is the noun meaning "belly", "stomach" or "abdomen".

Jisatsu (自殺, "self-killing") is the normal word that means "suicide".

自 = self. 殺 = to kill.

If Kasuga gets upset and jumps off a bridge, that would be suicide (jisatsu,
自殺). But it would not be Seppuku (切腹). If he just cuts his wrists, it would
not be Seppuku. There is a very specific ritual that has to be followed, if I
understand correctly.

While I am on this macabre topic, there is a very widespread stereotype that
there is an extremely high rate of suicide in Japan. However, that is just a
myth. Here are actual statistics:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate

However, I think it would be correct to state that the seppuku rate in
Japan is higher than any other country in the world.

Hmm, interesting episode. Poor Kasuga's so distracted by Nakamura his whole date ... and wow telling him to kiss her?! Ouch D:
Still though, I liked that he got her the book. He was completely different at the bookstore ... the park scene was so awkward though. I mean the "confession" ... the subs said he wanted a "purely platonic" relationship right?! So were they trolling?! I mean I didn't think he'd actually CONFESSED confessed ... or well whatever. The way it was worded I thought he just wanted to be friends :S
THEN THE BUCKET. LIKE WTF LOL O_O He seems to have covered it up pretty well, so I wouldn't think Saeki noticed ... anyway, it'll be interesting to see how their new relationship develops, especially since Nakamura said she wouldn't interfere ... :O
Also, new ED? Or well just without the bass and stuff - I liked this version :P

Loved the "sasasasa" think, thought she was cute then, and even may like her.. but then she comes out and make everything even creeepier.. before it was just awkward and embarrassing.

Why does Kasuga even listen to her? Why did Saeki told she like the date, when it was clearly a misunderstanding?

love it... though it's extremely slow paced, actually under-slow-paced.

The only thing I do not get about this series is why hasn't he thrown the gym suit away by now? He had plenty of opportunities to ditch the sweater in the bushes, in the river, maybe cut the gym suit up in a billion pieces and flush it down the toilet.Heck he could have even went to his homeroom after school and just stick the gym suit back into Saeki's little locker while no one was looking.

And why did Kasuga act like he one the lottery when Saeki agreed to be in a platonic relationship with him and why did Saeki treat it as a confession?Does platonic mean a completely different thing in Japan? Because it in the US platonic means no romantic relations or friends without benefits.

Nakamura is totally despicable, ugh. The date was cute, apart from her being there.

I don't hate Kasuga either, the classmates MAY not believe Nakamura if she told them he took the gym clothes, but they were saying previously that Kasuga and Nakamura have a lot in common etc... they're basically on the same rung of the social ladder lol. It's kind of a risk, plus he sees the whole thing as a "sin" and probably wouldn't want to take the easy way out of burning the clothes or throwing them away or whatever (although that would probably solve his problems! but even so, he couldn't stop Nakamura stalking him or making his life hell in other ways. TEENAGE YEARS ARE HARD).

Oh and I'm p sure he meant platonic in the sense like... working up to being romantic or physical lol. You see it pretty often in other series.

Feel bad for Kasuga. One of the biggest moments of his life and he can't even enjoy it. Nakamura is a terrorist in the most plain definition of the word.

Gotta say, I like that the plot revolves around something relatively simple and mundane (stolen gym clothes) and manages to spin out every form of teen angst and fear from that. I think while so much of anime occupies a high school / middle school setting, very few capture the atmosphere of what being a student at that age is actually like. In that sense this show really is a cut above the rest, in no small part due to the fantastic performances given by the cast. All of them are really believable. I knew people like Kasuga in high school. Hell, at certain times I'm pretty sure I *was* Kasuga in high school (though admittedly never quite as wimpy).

Another great episode, keeping things moving along nicely. Can't wait to see where this goes next.
