Another good episode starting with the early morning wake-up scenes with Touko and Kakeru, where it is obvious that the first thing they think about is the other person. This episode made it clear that Touko has no interest in Yuki as anything else but a friend and it also featured Yanagi stepping forward again as a good candidate for best girl (or at least the most straightforward girl). While mystery still surrounds the glimpses and fragments of the future that come to Kakeru and Touko, it seems that the audience is shown much less than the two characters see and hear--in this episode we mostly saw the sparkly eyes when they had a vision of the future.

So why is Kakeru acting like this? Maybe it is because he can catch fragments of the future and either thinks this is the way it has to be, or he sees a way clear to the best ending possible (not necessarily a universally good ending). Given knowledge of the future, however imperfect, those are really your only two choices: to accept it as inevitable, or to seek to change it. In this episode it seems that his actions, however unexplainable at the time, seem to have resulted in Touko and he getting closer, while Yanagi has kept the possibility open that Yuki will come around.

And Hiro and Sachi are just sweet... Sachi seemed a little more enthusiastic this time around, so hopefully Hiro's love campaign is bearing fruit. However I still see upcoming drama with her going into the hospital.

That was really not Kakeru's day lol..... and he even got slapped on the same side he got punched too. The relationships are now starting to deepen but I feel this is really going to end badly for everyone and the group will break up. Also, I feel like Sacchi is going to either die or get seriously sick since they keep stressing the point that she's sickly and that Touko had a vision of her hospitalized.

So Tsumugu's and Chisaki's son realised he and Touko are destined to be together ? What?
Furthermore I don't think the nearly shown kiss is between Kakeru and Touko. Looking at the hair it could also be Kakerus mother and they want to fool us :D.
Still I'm not sure if Kakeru wants her as a lover or as a friend. I think there's still the chance that they won't end up together and the couples will be different or maybe even a tragic ending and everyone ends up alone.

The second hald of this episode was really entertaining because I was sitting there and the whole time I was thinking: WTF?!...What are they doing!? This escalated just too quickly.
I'm sooo confused.

Yanagi is definitely the best girl. I like Kakeru, but her slap was wonderful!

...What the hell did I just watch? This show is written so fucking badly that I don't even know what to say anymore. I'm just going to give up on them explaining the future-sight bullshit, but I at least expect them to provide some believable drama, but they can't even do that! What was the reason for Yuki to punch David? There wasn't one, but hey, it's dramatic! Right?

Today is a grave day for KakeruxYanagi shippers. All the forced KakeruxTouko moments. And the preview where Yanagi's voice says "I don't like David-kun." Though that at least shows there's some consideration. Still hoping for ToukoxYuki and KakeruxYanagi ending, or even one where Touko goes all friendship mode and doesn't get with anyone and Yukinari goes off to college and gets a girlfriend outside of their group. All Kakeru talks with Touko about is the future. The part where Yanagi slaps Kakeru was great imo because it shows she understands him, and that Kakeru was willing to give up Touko for free. The part where he's with Touko at the end seems really forced and made no sense as far as the rest of the series is concerned. And this is kinda a conspiracy theory, but the kiss vision isn't necessarily Touko and Kakeru, because you can only tell the right is Kakeru by the hair, but the other one doesn's have any defining features.

Honestly you guys. . . . .When did Okikura start to like Touko?!?!?

Am I the only one who feels NO chemistry between them at all????

When did Chisaki start to like Tsumugu? Its just anime logic. You just have to accept it. I know what u mean. But thats good for me since I ship Yuki and Yanagi :P

Chisaki actually spent 5 years living with Tsumugu while Hikari and the rest were frozen underwater, so she has an excuse. Really the only thing between Kakeru and Touko are Touko's naive "feelings" for Kakeru that came into existence because he's interesting and has future powers. There's not really any grounds for them to like each other, especially not Kakeru. Because she doesn't really say anything meaningful to him and it's not like they spend enough time together doing anything meaningful.

I honestly am done with this series.
I wasn't expecting this series to be as good as Nagi no Asukara but I was expecting something that wasn't crap.
The animation and music are very good but plot is just awful and non-existent at times. I'm tired of how the characters act towards one another and they're like 18 years old but still act like they're in middle school. It's been 6 episodes and there is little to no chemistry between the characters whatsoever so I really am done with this series.

Overall, 3/10.

Davide is just having it tough, wow. He got punched, then he got slapped, then Touko didn't say she is on his side. And he's got so many haters.

I feel bad for him.

Right now the most broken and awkward ship for me is Yana and Yukinari. Like, I don't even understand how can they do this. What Yano did in my opinion is cruel, she confessed to him, then immediately started acting like it never happened. How can you tell somebody you love them then basically stop giving a sh*t whatsoever. That teasing, not affection. So she needs to get her sh*t together. Watching them is awkward for me. Yukinari is indecisive too, though. It's very annoying imho.

I do enjoy the Kakeru x Touko ship and can't wait for it to develop. It's just like it was said in the 1st episode - everything in the "group" is falling apart.

Think the kiss is probably not Kakeru and Touko. It really looked like Kakeru x Yuki, tbh. Is Sachi into Touko and just leading the other guy on? Touko is so annoying. All she ever does is say, "Ehhhhhh?!" and blush. Wish there was more info on this whole future thing and glass. I do like the Yanagi x Kakeru ship, though it reminds me of Chisaki x Tsumugu. Chisaki is more similar to Yanagi than Touko. Also, if Kakeru likes Touko, why would he plan to lose? There is barely a plot, where they start kinda something then do something else.

Saying "if I win Touko is mine" implies I want her to be mine, which means I love/desire her. Therefore it required guts to say it. It's definitely much more adult than not talking to the girl you like, which is the cause for other males in this show.

I don't think Imi would agree to the "race" anyway, because then 1.he would hurt Yana's feelings 2. He would never be able to make Touko happy anyway, either. The "race" was just a wordplay to make everybody realise Kakeru's motives. Anybody who thinks they would really go and actually run in that situation is a dumbass.

I really liked Kakeru.. this episode changed my opinion.

-- If you win, I'll never see Touko again, if I win Touko is mine, you have Takayama--

Ok, Kakeru not only treated Yanagi but also Touko like an object, but he was really , really rude to Yanagi.
He portrayed her as if she was a consolation prize.
It was like he's saying:

-if you win , touko is yours. If you fail, I get Touko , but there is also Takayama left, so you can have her.-

But i do think that there is a reason he did this; Kakeru and Yanagi got along well so there has to be a reason:

1) He knew what Yanagi's reaction would be. Imi seemed impressed.
Maybe Kakeru wanted their relationship to slowly progress . ( -> he also asked Imi why he didn't answer to Yanagi's confession)

2) He did it without reason->After Yanagi slapped him , he returned to his senses and he was quite shocked.

This episode really was for Kakeru X Touko shippers, but I feel like there is no chance for them.
Reasons:

1) I think it is quite early to really see who ends up with whom ( there are 7 episodes left)
2) Let's imagine Kakeru and Touko get together.
in the preview of Glasslip we get told that nothing will be like before ( -> the friends falls apart).
But if Kakeru and Touko get together, Yanagi gets chances to be with Yuki. Even if she can't be with him, she'Ll be content by the fact that he didn't end up with Touko -> The point is, I don't see any reason the friends should fall apart by this.

Here is what I think will happen:

I think Imi slowly falls in love with Yanagi. The look he gave her when she said - let's go-.
Kakeru wants to help Yanagi and he wants her to be in a relationship with Imi, but I've got a feeling and this feeling says that he also slowly begins to fall in love with Yanagi ( how he looked at her when she slapped him., how he looked at her when she told him she wanted him to be her ''diary'')
These two guys fight over Touko... But afterwards it'll be Yanagi (-> Yanagi has a very important role in the anime, her role has more meaning than Touko) ( -> Yanagi finishes the conflict between Kakeru and Imi; she progresses by confessing to Imi...and so on..)

it's always the same, at first someone(a) is in love with someone(b). But this someone(b) doesn't return these feelings. someone(a) decides to go on and live her(his life. the other someone (b) notices that he/she was in love with someone (a) but it's too late.

Anyways, yeah that script. The lack of experience really shows in this newbie script writer. Like parfaited said, it was definitely cringeworthy...I also see 0 chemistry between Touko and Kakeru, and Kakeru is just a weirdo. What's up with Yuki too? That was so random. Is the scriptwriter just bad or is this how they really intended the show to turn out? David's intentions are too vague; too vague to make me even interested to know what the heck he is thinking. I have a feeling that the author just made him the way he is to create melodrama.

Should I remind you that "adults" used to race for the beautiful lady back in time?
Or should I remind you about the roman history?
We all know that Aphrodite was a whore but anyway.........
Kakeru forced him to choose between those 2 girls , fight for Touko or keep what he already have. Kakeru knew what he was getting himself into. And even if he'd give up Touko he'd still have someone. Since the fight , apparently , is between them 4 while the other 2 are the outcasts of the main "fight".

It doesn't matter how it was back then. Back then the king pooped in the corners of his chamber. I don't think it would be a very mature and socially acceptable thing to do so now.
We're constantly growing, so it would be a good idea to actually act more reasonable.
Running a race to "win a girl" is quite a childish behaviour nowadays.

Well, this episode was better than the last one, but still, pretty uninteresting.
Maybe it's just be, but all those events that happened in this episode didn't connect well and seemed kinda random. At least some plot finally happened. But all the characters are so annoying in Glasslip, especially in this episode. Even though I disliked Sachi in the beginning, now I don't really mind her (well, she rarely appears so yeah lol).

Going off of how things don't connect, it is never explained what condition Saachi suffers from. We just have an idea that she is "weak" and requires lots of rest and hospitalizations and tests. If her character had more dialogue and development, I would more interested in seeing her relationship work out with Hiro, but at the moment, like you, this relationship seems the most uninteresting.

Also, why did Okikura's mom just show up, out of the blue? That seemed like a strange occurrence and not really conducive to the plot.

Already half-way through this show and it still suffers from pacing and character issues. Will keep watching just for pure entertainment and lovely art sake. Story is still questionable....

How the hell did Yana know enough about Kakeru's personality that she knew he wasn't serious? They talked like only 2 freaking times.

Dude.. the "adult" he mentioned here is the audience's maturity, one that can understand character's feeling and behavior when it comes to love/crush. It is obviously that this show is not for everyone, especially teenage who has never experienced the same drama in real life.

Well this episode was definitely better than all the other ones so far........which isn't saying much since this show set the bar so fucking low.

Okikura got rocked this episode. I could kind of get the slap, but the punch was unnecessary. Yuki is just like the butthurt character of the show for no reason. The girl who has never once shown any interest in you turned down your confession and you're mad that another guy is showing interest even though you have a different girl oogling you. Then Okikura calls his bitch ass out for chasing his crush while not answering Yana and gets mad about it lol.

I think the Touko x Okikura paring isn't bad. I mean despite being monotone he shows some interest. And Touko is showing feelings too. Plus the fact that he can hear the future and she can see it kind of already fates them together.

Honestly with how stupid all the characters are in this show, I kind of hope everyone winds up unhappy. Hiro doesn't have the balls to confess, so Saachan gets hospitalized and he confesses to her on her death bed and she dies. Touko and Okikura get together and Yuki cant handle it anymore and Yana's feelings never reach him so they wind up going separate ways.

...Yea that would make me happy. If it fails at being the Nagi clone it's trying to be, the least it could do it shake things up and have a depressing ending.

The punch was unnecessary but I can let it pass as Yuki being frustrated cuz he clearly realizes that he was losing to Kakeru. I can also understand him being sensitive to the issue of Yana's confession since it complicates his situation. It was an irrational action but human emotions can be like that.

Kakeru's challenge to Yuki is of the same nature. What he wants to do is force Touko is reveal her feelings. He knew he couldn't beat Yuki in a race so if Touko didn't feel that strongly about him, then that would be end of them. If she did feel strongly about him, then she would choose him even if he lost. I think he understands that it was a douche thing to put Touko up as some kind of trophy but, like he said, he wanted to know that Touko is on his side. Forceful, yes, but being decisive and a bit aggressive is definitely not a bad thing. Once Touko makes a choice, it would put an end the conflict he has with Yuki and force Yuki to respond to Yana's feelings.

I take it Touko's attraction towards Kakeru is more of a "love at first sight" kinda of thing since she was already falling in love with him before they even had that much interactions. From what he said, I guessing Kakeru already knew about Touko through his visions of the future, which was why he was so proactive in approaching her but the details are still unclear.
