THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Well. their uniform looks better than they first debuted. I give WuG a little credit on that. Otherwise, episode felt kinda slow. Damn it Yamaken, stop saving budget

Oh well, at least WuG has a few fans. I'm actually kinda cheering for them against I-1 Club too. Shame they didn't win, oh well.

I enjoyed seeing the few fans of WuG cheering for their idol group.
It just seemingly ended with a contract, but I am glad that even though they lost WuG did give it their all.

WUG!!!WUG!!!

10/10

Yoppi manages to pull though and deliver a stellar performance along with the 6 Wake Up Girls. It was nice to see one of the 1-1 Club girls help out Yoppi and I think she wanted WUG to participate and not back out at the last minute.

The downside of this episode was that WUG didn't win, but oh well Bivex one of the top company's wants to sigh WUG so it's all good in the end.

Those hardcore and loyal WUG fans never fail to amaze me.

Probably

But I found it to be a good 'Idol Anime' sort of maybe not an anti-IM@s but.. it showed some other sides .. Was a good watch and id support the idea of a second season.

The ending was so rushed....Random group stole the prize again... Seriously, couldn't they make them win for once? Moreover, what's the point of showing the contrasting in training and mindset between I1 and WUG but nothing seem to be done about it.

Note is, annoying Shiho got a bit less annoying, but still pretty annoying ...

Nice of her to help Yoshino out.

They really got the crowd going.

The tears after the performance were really cute :D

The way the judges were discussing who would win makes me think they were told not to choose WUG.

That ending seriously this is the 3rd cliffhanger ending this season :/ At least it's not that bad of one.

Some more full songs or concerts would of been great, but other than that great anime. I would love a second season.

Ending of a decent idol anime. :3
I never seen an idol anime before, but being that Wake Up Girls! was my first idol anime I've watched, I think I'm into them. o wo
Other than that, it's sad that Wake Up Girls! didn't win the festival...but, at least they got recognized by a major labeling company. o wo

Overall, great anime, had some laughs, and crying, and more! :3

Their singing was off in allot of places (had to plug my ears at a few parts), but damn that was pretty cool :D

@Sonority Agreed, I can't even imagine, probably makes playing an instrument while singing look easy; dancing would make you run out of breath so fast.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but it would have been ridiculous if WUG HAD won against I-1 Club. They have way less experience and work ethic. Just because their view of what idols should be is different doesn't mean they would put on a better performance.

Don't know what exactly to think of this show to be honest. Shitty production is forgivable to a degree, and I liked the songs, but it astounds me that for a show with a claim to a sort of realism and grittiness compared to other idol shows, it showed almost no interest in delving into individual girls' background or psyche. I can't even tell them apart most of the time.

Unrealized potential, in short. I'd like it if it got a second (and better) season, though.

But really... I only care about the overall feel or satisfaction I receive when a series is over...

A good ending!!!

I was wondering how they were going to wrap up everything and I think it was slightly an open one with that incoming phone call from Bivex. I liked the costumes outfit that WUG was wearing and their concert was a success and this was shown by the cheering from the crowd. Yoppi really redeemed herself and decided to make that jump although was quite risky. Seems like Shiraki manager may have felt something and followed by what Hayasaka said about his 'guerrilla' concerts, he most likely did but I guess I-1 Club started out as a small group from the first place. I kind of expected that WUG may no win but this will only motivate them to progress further so I'm happy with that, congratulations to Akamiso All Stars for winning the Idol Festival.

Overall I enjoyed this series but found some episodes quite dull or hard to watch at times. It began with a lot of negative impressions of the in anime people and the jobs WUG were given were quite disturbing and uncomfortable to watch but things progressed and changed a lot ever since Hayasaka decided to take WUG under his guidance. The dancing was average compared to other anime idol series but I guess this is alright. I think the 'realism' is really enhanced in this series compared to other series as well.

The characters were quite normal in my opinion and it took some time for me to learn distinctively about each character. Another thing to note was that the main supporting guy called Oota Kuniyoshi was quite an important role. No one seems to take attention but he really made an impact on the supporting side as he has been always there for WUG supporting from Day One and since a year has already been passed ever since WUG's debut, I can honestly say that he is WUG's most devoted fan and he also made an effort to defend Mayu's case of why she quite I-1 Club on forums/discussions (IRC) and even made a fan club dedicated to WUG so it was quite an important aspect.

It seems like the series is hoping for a second season and since I heard that WUG has not been officially listed of having 7 members, this opens a lot of questions but I guess we will have to see if the series becomes popular enough to show this.

Final Scores:

Art/Animation: 8/10
Story/Plot: 7.5/10
Characters: 8/10
Music: 7.5/10
Overall Score: 8/10

the art got better from the previous tohoku preliminary audition
glad they're not winning here, means that the girls is still far from perfect.
i cant believe they can move the whole audience to chant on them :o

At least Yoshino gets a temporary treatment.. Shiho isn't probably all that bad.

Good to see they got the audiences' attention!

Yoshino didn't have to jump.. A bad decision..
Still a good performance though. :)

Kind of expected WUG to lose. Though it felt like the result was biased.

Bivex wants to sign Wake Up Girls.
-- A possible hint for a second season.

Good show. :)

Really liked where this went. Don't like shows about idols, but this one is an exception. My favorite part is how they showed the emotional and "oh shit" faces.

And how they didn't use CG.

And the comedy. I didn't expect the jokes, and that surprise element had a positive effect like the 9/11 one.

And the songs, I honestly found them good even though it was 2 ;/\

I've seen some Sentai-alike pose from WUG in this episode, like Tokkyuger (when they move their hands like kids imitating choo choo train movement, reminds me of "Tokkyuger! All aboard!" pose) and Goggle V ("Ookiku ookiku change!" reminds me of "Goggle V jump together before shouting their role call" pose).
Or is it just me who watch too much Sentai?

Random-from-nowhere (Akamiso = red miso or region name? Their uniform color are miso-alike) gets the prize.
WUG meets same fate like Muse from LL, lose in competition they wanna join (Muse lose because of lowered rank of idol chart, while WUG lose due to "dat boss attitude")

Anyway, I enjoy this show. Now I'm waiting for Gokujou Smile WUG version, will it be released?

I enjoyed WUG and rate it 8/10. I liked the overall positive message of the last episode. Even though I've watched several shows that drive home a 'teamwork' message, there's nothing wrong with that.

It was nice the way the last few episodes showed WUG coming together more as a group and Yoppi and Mayu resolving their differences.

In the end Yoppi turned out to be a more competent leader then she had been early on.

I was expecting them to lose as well, thought I wish they won.

Even thought they didn't won the prize, they've won the hearts of many in the stadium.

It was kinda average but an enjoyable series nevertheless.

One look at the I-1 club's GM and you know he'll manipulate the results lol.

Oh well, WUG lost the battle but won the war. The fact that they managed to get the whole stadium fired up is already proof that they made it. On top of that, Hayasaka seems pissed at the GM so he'll probably keep helping WUG.

I don't think they mentioned I-1's record company (or I just forgot) but hey, they hosted the idol contest in I-1's arena and sponsored by the GM so pretty sure they won't just give the winner away to a competing label :p Judging from everyone's reactions to Bivex, I'm guessing it's a different record company so maybe not winning is really a good thing, otherwise their growth will definitely be stifled.
---

I like the show. Definitely a different feel from the other idol shows I've watched (currently doing a marathon of Im@s). This one's serious, maybe a little too serious but hey, it felt real and I found myself really cheering for them instead of just wanting to see what's next.

7.5/10. I'm going to ask my trusty magic eight ball if I should round it up.

Well, WUG didn't win Idol Festival. Anyway, nice episode. It was an enjoyable Anime after all. Then, when I watched this final episode, I think It obviously will be a second season (?). Well, That's what I think after all.

The first episode was a snore, but once the second episode came out with the intended fan disservice it got my attention and I was committed to the ride. And it was laid back, and a pleasant experience and I enjoyed the journey to the conclusion, but it left me curious for more and I really really hope it did well enough to get the green light for a second season and if it does I ESPECIALLY HOPE they have a better budget so we get less derpy animation and for us to get more detailed artwork.

Favorite Idols were Minami(The glutton) and Miyuu(The maid). I liked them for being the more optimistic and energetic of the girls. Plus Minami got heavy respect points for not letting the swimsuit incident effect her like it did the other girls.

7/10.

Well it was predictable that they don't win (you know, in case they need as 2nd season ^_^) but whoa being signed by AVEX??? *cough* sorry BIVEX??? talk about jumping levels.

In terms of story and everything else this easily tops any other idol shows. Too bad it doesn't have much budget. A lot of shows have minimum budget but I don't think I've ever seen one that's as painfully obvious as Wake Up, Girls!

That being said it has been a fun ride. The songs are great and the girls are cute. I'm more attached to these girls compared to the ones from other idol anime. For those who wants to check out 7 Girls War full PV and choreography this is the link http://www.jpopsuki.tv/video/Wake-Up%252C-Girls%2521---7-girls-war/441e2b256e013878b955f0b377de36e8

It was great, just perfect. Yoppi trying her best, Mayu and the girls sacrificing their dreams for Yoppi, the hardcore WUG fan's loyalty and bravery, WUG being acknowledge by the I-1 fans. All of it was enthralling. After watching the movie and the entire TV series, the performance WUG displayed in the I-1 Arena touched the deepest depths of my heart. I would say they were victorious in the '7 Girls War'.
