Psyche hadn't said much since the lights went out. Her heart was pounding, and, as she allowed Mark to grab her hand, she could feel herself become at least a little calmer. His arms around her shaking shoulders were comforting, and she buried her head in his shoulder thankfully. All the while the teacher was talking, Psyche stayed quiet, until the last moment when the door was shut and the knocking began. And then she was being pulled away, and it took a moment for her legs to respond, but she was running after that and still holding Mark's hand. "Mark, we need to get Sean and Jas and Julie and get out of here," she said, her voice regaining it's control and her mind and instinct setting back in. At first the lack of light had scared her, but now that instinct was coming back, that fear was chased away from her brain by pure impulse and need to protect, need to get everyone out of the building. |

Darkeiko said: "Be careful guys!" Giuliette called as she watched the two make their way out to investigate the sudden explosion. "Call me if you find anything suspicious, all right? We need to be kept in contact at all times." She was scared beyond recognition, but now wasn't the time to lose her head. People's lives could be riding on her. Now think...riots, dead coming back to life, news stations out of order...all the makings of a Resident Evil movie. What they needed now...were weapons. But where to find some? "Hey Sean, doesn't the Karate dojo have weapons for black belts stored in the back?" "Be careful, you two" Sean said before they left. Sean sighed and sat on the couch. "If I didn;t know any better, I would say we were in a fucking horror movie..." He looked at Julie as she spoke. "Yeah, I think so..." Now that he thought about it, he kept a gun and a katana his father left him. Sean stood up and ran into his room. When he came out five minutes later, he had an CZ75 automatic handgun in a shoulder holster and a japanese katana in his hand. "Ok, let's head out to the dojo" |

Jasmine sat on the couch thinking. " Where did I leave my sword? My dorm room.....Yes." " I'll be right back. I need somthing importent." I said as I left out. The power was out and I could see a thing. Luckly my room was two doors down to the right. I walked close to the wall and reach my room. I feeled formy key and opened the door. I walked to my bedroom tripping as I went until I mad it to my bed and grabbed the sword under the bed. |

Giuliette peeked around the corner before signaling the others to move on ahead. Clutched in her hand was her purse. She knew it wasn't a fitting weapon for this situation, but at least it was something she could use. Somehow everyone else had gotten weapons and she was the odd woman out. For now she was defenseless save for what she had in her grasp. She could only hope there were a few more weapons they could use against whatever the heck was going on. She was scared, that much she was sure and she hadn't heard word from Mark or Psyche since they had left which either meant that nothing was wrong or that they were in so much shit that they didn't have time to call. And by how desolate the dormitory seemed as she, Jasmine, and Sean made their way down the hall, she's up to guessing the latter. Passing by another set of vacant rooms with nothing in sight, her suspicions rose dramatically. Someone, maybe the teachers, must have evacuated the students and faculty and they were the only ones who hadn't. A loud rapping broke the silence, making her put up her arm to stop. It was coming from somewhere, maybe downstairs. "Do you guys hear that?" she whispered. |

Jasmine had made it back with everyone. " Do you guys hear that?" Giuliette asked. " I hear it too." I was holding tight to the sword at my side. The noise seemed to get louder. " What the hell is that?" Jasmine said as she kept close to them. |

Suddenly the door to the stairs was busted open. Mark and Psyche emerged from the stairway gasping for breath. Mark practically feel to the ground having been so out of breath. The fact that a sword was pointing at him didn't help, "W-what the hell... you guys..." he managed to say as he lie there gasping for breath. Psyche wasn't in as bad as a condition, being a track team member and all. He looked at his pale faced friends who sat there trembling. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to slam his body into the door rather than turning the knob... Mark rolled onto his back and held up his hand signaling 'Give me a minute' with it. Regaining a rhythmic breathing pattern he sat up, "My phone doesn't seem to have a signal anymore..." He rose an eyebrow at Giuliette, "You okay Julie...?" ((lol I just had to do that XDD Random silence breaker after all the characters were sitting on the edge. BAM! Mark slams the door open lol) |

Giuliette responded with a swift strike to his head with her purse. She was scared half to death and he's asking if she was okay?! Here she was, clutching her purse for dear life wondering what the hell was going on and he JUMPS out of nowhere and scares the crap out of her. Of COURSE she wasn't okay! "You almost gave me a freaking heart attack!" she said in a hushed whisper. "Did you have to slam the door like that?!" The rapping resumed. "You could very well attract whatever the heck's making that noise." Glancing at their worse-for-wear expressions, the dread in her stomach rose steadily. Momentarily forgetting that she was scared shitless after the stunt they pulled, she asked, "What did you guys see? Heck...what happened to you guys?" |

"We didn't see anything," Mark said as he rubbed his head after getting with her purse. What the hell was in that thing? It felt like a brick, "We walked down four fucking flight of stairs, and then ran back up then! I don't know who or what the hell is down there, but apparently the entire was evacuated earlier with us being the last one here." He stood up and shot a glare at Sean, "I thought you said you fixed the fucking intercom too!" he barked in a hushed whisper. After calming down he looked at each of them, "Well... whatever the case is, we have to get out of here," he let out a heavy sigh, "Gotta go back down the stairs I guess... but not that flight, no fucking way." |

"Well, I think there's another flight of stairs on the other side of the dormitory. We could use those to get downstairs and get to the dojo." At his questioning expression she continued, "Look, whatever the hell is going on it must be bad enough that everyone evacuated the building. Our plan, before you guys so RUDELY scared the crap out of us, was that we go to the Karate Dojo and get some weapons just so we're prepared for whatever...or whoever made everyone hightail it home. My purse and Karate skills can only do so much damage." Digging her phone from her purse, she pressed down on the keypad for Internet Explorer and waited...waited... With a sigh, she shoved it back in with grim satisfaction. Like Mark's, her phone didn't seem to be getting any service which was entirely odd in itself. Today was getting weirder and weirder by the moment and she didn't want to stick around to see how weird things would get. Slowly and without a second glance, she gestured everyone to start moving. |

Jasmine almost jumped out her skin when Mark came clashing though the door. They didn't see anything and everyone is gone. What in the world is happening. Also to make things worse no one has any type of service. I couldn't see a thing in that darkness. " Sean......" |

Sean stayed silent through whole thing. He put a comforting hand of Julie's shoulder, "It's alright. Calm down" He turned to the door. "We need to get to the dojo. this is getting out of hand." He walked out the door and turned the corner. CRASH! An apartment door was slammed off its hinges by two men. One of the men was ontop the other. the man ontop seemed to be trying to bite the other. Sean swiftly kicked the man off. As the man hit the ground, Sean noticed something strange. there was a wound on his neck. It looked like a bite. The man's white, lifeless eyes looked back at him. Sean was now starting to believe the rumors.... The creature let out a spine-tingling moan before getting up. It's eyes were now on Sean. Sean took out his CZ75 and aimed it at the creature. "Stop!" He ordered. When the creature did not respond, Sean shot it in the right leg. No effect. He shot the chest. Still nothing. The creature was now are arm's length. Sean placed his pistol right on it's head and fired. That did the job. The creature fell to the ground, dead. "...You..got to be fucking kidding me." Sean breathed. His heart was racing a mile a minute. |

Jasmine walked up to the now dead creature. " What the fuck is that thing? It can't be a...." Jasmine stopped as more sounds starting coming from down the hall. " Don't tell me there is more of them." Jasmine said gripping the handle to her sword. That thing had no soul. Jasmine didn't know what the hell was going on but she knew they needed to get the fuck out of there. |

Psyche, who had originally been closest to the door where the zombie had entered and was only just straightening out from the run, jumped hard at the first shot and darted towards Jasmine and Julie to get out of the way. When the body toppled over, she had only one comment, "Oh, fuck." Taking her hands out of her pockets, she gestured to the fire escape. "I think now would be a good time to use that," she said. Her breath was coming fast from the running and the zombie's attack, but her words and eyes were steady. Now that she had adjusted to the dark, she wanted desperately to take control. |

"Ho-ly shit." The moaning sounds seemed to get louder the longer they stood there. There was no time to stare at the once living creature no matter how surreal it was. Right now, the only reoccurring thought in her mind was getting the hell out of here and to the dojo where they could properly defend themselves. And even then, her decision to go there was beginning to wane. Based on the approaching moans, there were more of these... zombies - she said it - navigating their way around the dormitory. For all she knew, other students may have gotten the same idea, gotten bitten, transformed into these rotting creatures, and are now occupying the very room that seemed like a refuge in this madhouse. "We've got to get the fuck out of here," she said. She was clutching desperately onto the single strand of sanity and rational thought as their once peaceful reality was torn asunder. Things would never be the same. They weren't living in a peaceful reality anymore. They were living...in a nightmare. |

Mark had been on his feet for a while and then the "zombie" attacked. Sure he was a little freaked, but he shot a 'are you serious' look at Sean after having wasted so much bullets. Precious bullets that was, "Sean! Are you an idiot? You should know to always aim for the fucking head!" he barked as he slammed the door shut and blocked it off with a chair. He then looked at the guy that was bleeding from the attack, "You guys go on ahead... I'll... I'll be right there ," he said as he bit his lip. He made sure to not move until he sure that everyone had gotten a safe distance away. He took out the pistol that was hidden by his coat. "I'm probably going to hell for this..." he said in a quaking voice. Sure he fired a gun before, but not like this, "Sorry... but if I have to choose between saving my friends or saving a stranger. The choice is obvious," Mark said with cold lifeless eyes as the man begged for him not to do it. Although his voice was slightly sympathetic as he whispered sorry one more time under his breath. BANG! The floor was painted by the mans blood, tears, and brains. Mark felt like he was going to vomit after having gagged. Maybe it was the him from his dark days that started to leak out at this time of pure survival. He hated that monster and was sure he bound it with chain in a chest in his heart. He slowly turned around just to see the girls crying at what he did. His heart shattered, but this was because of the look that Psyche gave him. He hung his head and slowly followed the group, leaving the two dead bodies on the floor. Both with a bullet in the brain. One being a monster, and the other a monster in the making. And the man that walked towards his friends was a monster in his heart. A cold blooded killer for what he had just pulled... but if the situation called for it again, he'd do it in a heartbeat. Maybe that was just the demon in him talking. (Dark post is dark o.0) |

"Fuck off! I didn;t know...It's impossible..Zombies can't be real..." Sean was breathing heavy after yelling at Mark. He looked at Mark. "...I know you had to..But you don't have to be so heartless about it." He turned to Jasmine. He could tell that she was tense. He walked up to her and put a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Relax." He turned to the others, "We got to go." He looked down the hall Jasmine was looking down. He heard the moans. He began to see many undead walking out of rooms and joined the ranks of undead walking down the hall from the first floor. "The fire escape! Lets go!" |

Giuliette didn't waste any time climbing out the window onto the fire escape. The sight of someone being brutally murdered, no matter what the situation was, was gruesome and made her want to shrivel up in a ball. She wanted to curl up and hide, escape from the horrible reality that this day had become. But as much as she wanted to...she couldn't. Under these circumstances, to show weakness was like resigning yourself to death. And although she was against everything that Mark had done, she knew that he had no choice. It was either become strong and do the inevitable, or be weak and allow that person to stay and possibly become one of them so that he may kill us in the end. It was a horrible way to define strength, to take someone's life so callously, but that was how it was now. It was either live or die. There were no two ways about it, no time to think, no time to decide. The line between good and evil had blended and molded into something amorphous, something that she could hardly see anymore. There was no good in killing these people nor was there evil in doing so. There was only staying alive, the sheer instinct in keeping yourself or the people you care about safe from harm. There was only the single thought of getting away, going somewhere where you didn't have to worry about looking over your shoulder to see if the next second would be your last. This was how things were now and how she hated it. Adrenaline and leftover pizza coursed through her system, moving her along the fire escape slowly, taking in the disgusting sights as she passed each window going down. Blood was splattered all over the walls, some coagulated some fresh. Crimson hand prints stained the once pristine pane and she could tell, even through the blurry red, that there were multiple bodies, literally torn apart, strewn throughout the hallway. Choking down bile she continued moving, taking heed of the screams that echoed from below. She was afraid, so damn afraid, but she could never voice it. Right now, their biggest concern was getting out alive. Her fear would have to wait. |

Jasmine was next going down the fire escape. She wasn't the least upset about what did. It had to be done. No ifs ands or buts about it. Slowly going down the fire escape she saw it all . Blood, gore, even a couple of those things feeding on something. The impluse to vomit came but Jasmine paid it no mind. Long as they got out alive but what awaited them on the ground? |

Sean was the first out, but he waited for the others before going down. He looked at the ally below. "Empty..." Right now he was regretting moving to the inner city. He also regretted not getting his copy of The Zombie Survival Guide from his room. Sean was the last one down. Three zombies feed on someone. Sean couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman because the face was ripped off at the skull and he couldn't see most of the body. The ghouls paid them no mind, too busy feeding. Sean felt his stomach churn. He ran with the others. |

As the shot rang out, Psyche closed her eyes and held her face away from the scene. She'd known from the look on the man's face, but her stomach was still doing flips. She felt dirty because she'd been there, dirty because when she opened her eyes the walls were bloody and the man was lifeless, dirty because she knew who did it. Mostly dirty because she was helpless. She hadn't been able to say anything. It was them or us, she told herself. It didn't help. It didn't change her mind. Turning her back on Mark, she stepped out onto the fire escape. The cold air bit at her face and the unstable metal underfoot, and she grabbed the hand rail beside her, following Julie and Jasmine down. As soon as her feet touched solid ground, she felt better. That only lasted for a few blissful seconds. Her eyes had barley brushed the scene, but it was clear what was happened: someone had been caught, and their mangled body was now being gnawed on by various of the zombies. She thought she might of known one of them from track, but their faces were too distorted, and she didn't want to think about knowing one of the abominations. "I think we need to leave the city," she said, forced calm in her voice, Sophie in her hands. |

Heartless huh... Mark knew that at the least. He glanced at the ghouls feasting on the body and felt nothing. He didn't feel sick, didn't feel sad, he felt just that. Nothing. Perhaps he was a heartless person... "I think we need to leave the city." Rummaged in his pockets for his keys and tossed it to Sean. He gave him a look that said he should drive. Hell in this situation, Mark was a good driver, but they needed a reckless one, and in this case it was Sean. Saying nothing still, Mark lead the way to his car as he had the pistol in his hands again in case he had to fire it again. He paid no mind to where he walked, or what he walked on. Bloody footsteps made a trail for his friends to follow as he stayed at the front, not talking in the slightest. Maybe he did feel something. Maybe it was disgust. Yes... he was disgusted with himself probably. His vehicle sat four. So all but him would ride in it, with him doing the same as now. Leading the pack with his motorcycle, hopefully he had enough gas in both to get out of the city. With that explosion earlier, the gas stations were all most likely gone. |

Sean caught the keys. "What kind of car you got again, Mark?" Sean knew, that depending on the car, their daring escape would be made harder or easier. He agreed fully with Psyche. He wanted to leave the city quickly. He knew how bad cities get whne Zombies are around. If George A. Romero and Max Brooks taught him one thing, it was to keep away from population areas. |

Psyche kept her eyes away from the foot prints, walked close to Julie instead. She was breathing deeply, but her nose was wrinkled against the smell of the rotting carcasses and blood. She didn't want to be in the car with Mark. She didn't want to be anywhere near him for a long time, but she forced herself to take the steps, forced herself not to think or look or feel anything. It was simple to do that. She slid into the back seat of the car and pulled her knees up to her chin, closing her eyes once again. She would be strong: she could promise herself that. But Mark. What had happened with Mark was something that would take a long time to forgive. Sophie's button eyes told her she was doing to right thing, but she ignored them for once, settling into her seat. |

"Jeep. It seats four. Only four... that good enough?" Mark asked as without feeling the need to look back. He knew that Psyche would just give him the cold shoulder. He glanced over to another feasting that was going on. It was a senior at the school that was in one of his clubs. Mark gritted his teeth and placed his finger on the trigger, but knowing if he shot a bullet, they'd all look at him. His face twisted with rage as he quickened his pace, knowing if he stayed he would shoot. He waited for all of them to get in and closed the door before getting in. Instead he pulled a cover off of a object next to it. A shiny motorcycle, Harly Davidson in fact, was parked next to the car. He signaled for Sean to start at the same time. Both engines purred in unison as Mark made another hand sign to Sean to tell him to follow him. With that being done, Mark launched forward and his bike took off down the street as the Jeep followed. |

Jasmine sat in the back giving a calm expression on her face but her insides were screaming. Zombies......people.....blood...everywhere. She thought as the jeep pulled off. Sean was following Mark who was on bike. He was so quiet. The guys have been doing most of the work at keeping us girls safe. They reasure us just enough to keep us going. We flew past lots a dead bodies and topped building. The city was a mess. It looked a bomb has destoryed it. Jasmine sat with her face in her hands. She couldn't look outside anymore. |

If anyone had asked her right at this very moment what she wanted to be when she grew up, she never thought she'd answer to be alive. As she scurried into the back seat and the Jeep took off, she saw the many people whose future was destroyed much like the city was now. People, no, zombies eating other people, mass mayhem, people fleeing much like they were doing right now. And she was helpless to save them. "Ugh," she dry-heaved, the sight becoming too much to take in. She had never seen such violence, such gore ever in her life, and she didn't think she ever would until now. Now she was hoping, praying, that nothing would happen that would jeopardize their escape. She was wishing that they didn't have to stay in this hell any longer than they should. This place has become a den where only the dead reside; there were no more people scurrying about their daily lives to and from work, no people to take another out on dates, not anything. Everything has become Topsy-turvy, up has become down, wrong has become right (at least that's how she thought of it) even though the line was so skewed she could hardly tell the difference anymore. Looking from the backseat at the sights that greeted her eyes, she had a vague sense of dread. What if a zombie were to make its way into the back seat? The only person who had a weapon in the back seat was Jasmine and even then, a sword was pretty difficult to handle in a confined space. "Sean," she tapped the front seat to get his attention, "if you pass Mark can you ask him if he has a weapon or something in here? I feel kind of uneasy with only a sword to protect ourselves in the back." |

As her seat belt wasn't buckled, it was easy for Psyche to pull herself into the front seat next to Sean. She left Sophie in the back; it was time to let go of the cat for now. It wouldn't help her now. "I want to drive," she said. "Next time we have a chance to stop." The look on her face was determined, her lips still set. She was done being protected by the two boys, she wanted to take some of her control back. She almost wavered when she looked out the window, and then felt the bump as they ran over something. She assumed the something was a corpse, or a chunk of rock that had been blown out when the gas station exploded. "I know a place we can go to shelter. It's close, so we can't stay long, but we can warn the people there before the... zombies get there," she said, her heart sinking into her stomach. Hopefully they wouldn't make it there. |
