Well, so far I like how it's going. The song when the fight started sounded something like punch out. They were being very explicit with some the bgm this episode and I like how the fight has been flowing.

havent seen the episode yet myself, but did they go overboard with the still/slow motion shots again like they have been doing?

EDIT:

Okay just watched it and i liked the episode, the 2 new guitar tracks where pretty good, the animation for this episode and just judging by the preview is pretty basic but then this isn't a long fight so i hope they pour all the budget into takumra v hawk. However it's really annoying me now how much they keep abusing still and slow motion shots.

Now that's more like awesomeness of the first season. Seems like the fight will conclude in the next ep.

WoW!! O.O

Ippo went all out against nao, ippo pwnd him in ther first round, 2 downs in one round.
Still nao did well with his dirty tricks but will they be enough to take out ippo, I dont expect anything more from nao now thats he's shown us his best attack (illegal dirty trick's), I think he's shown us all he's got, once ippo counters his dirty tricks all nao's gonna be seeing is stars in the next round.

Good first half, boring second half. I really thought they were going to use this arc to develop Ippo's approach to fighting, but it doesn't really seem like it. I want this fight to end as quickly a possible.

whatever..my opinion of Nao is exactly the same as it was in episode 9. he's an asshole.
dirty tricks? wow, good job there buddy~

Yeah...I hope so too.
Nao only needs...one more down....soooo....the match should end...next episode..
Unless....they have a flashback episode...with Nao training...sigh.

I find it very entertaining...how Nao's ear is all cut up...Previous matches?...Or maybe intensense training sessions?

I think the three down rule is going down three times in one round. So if he goes down in the second round he can get up and continue.

Nope, 3 times and it's a technical knockout. Doesn't have to be in the same round.

The 3 knock down rule is in the same round, but the referee has to make a judgment to see if the fighter can still fight or not

Broken and ripped ears are common for boxers from all the punching they recieve.

They kinda do, but i guess the point is to make him look more threatening.

Yea it's 3 downs per round. Nao is a god damn cheater man! Although he is one that guard break is ingenious . Also notice how Takamura is right about anything boxing related? Even the true feeling of Ippo fighting Geromichi was noticed by him.

pure awesomeness. i wish this season was longer than 24 episodes. if it was as long as the original series i would cry out of joy.

about time ippo learned not to be soft as a champion or even a boxer. how does he expect to ever challenge the mexican boxer.

i just realised something, but if the anime truly does end at 25 episodes, then this will likely be ippo's only real fight during this new season which is quite crazy when you consider he is the main.

Wow, now that i think of it, you are right. Not that i like her much, but it's weird for a major character to just go missing.

I wouldnt really call her major =/ If you look at the first season, you wont see that much of her, or rather just casually. She doesnt even pay that much of a role... I mean theres practically no progress between her and Ippo since they befriended each other.

But her being the main part of the ending sure irritates one :3

Not the most exciting of matches especially the fact that Ippo got hit so much at the beginning didn't feel real at all =/ but I guess it was an important match for his character, hmm now who will his 3rd opponent be =O

It sort of frustrates me how immature Ippo can be as a fighter sometimes, I'm sure it must drive his coach nuts even with all the potential he has. This should be a two minute fight. End of story. Beat his ass properly so he can go ahead and retire.

This fight is exciting, that Solar Plexus Blow from Naomichi is tough, although he has to use his palms to actually use that blow, it's pretty effective. I wonder how Ippo will try and get out of that, and I like how Ippo's going all in on Naomichi, I was expecting him to be kind of scared and not hit at all, but he's the champion right now, so I'm glad that he's not being a chicken.
