Lil' question here : Should I watch Achiga-hen right now or it's not really important and I could just watch it after this season is finished? Thank you.
You should probably watch Achiga now, it looks as if studio is changing source material a bit and putting in more Achiga in Zenkoku-hen. In manga, Achiga didn't even exist and the Saki-Achiga encounter happened in Achiga manga but it looked much differently - http://www.batoto.net/read/_/63306/saki-achiga-hen-episode-of-side-a_ch3_by_u-scanlations/70 and next few pages.
Only Akado (pro) and Kuro (100% ability user) noticed Saki's power. Shizu and Ako were oblivious to it. They didn't manifest a tiniest bit of special power either. They only reacted to her uniform because it was the same as Nodoka's and Shizu rememebered Koromo's words.
Spoiler from Achiga manga:

Terrible retcon.

Achiga takes place simultaneously, following a different school where the team partially consists of Nodoka's friends from when she played back in middle-school. You can see from time to time when it takes place in the timeline compared to the original series, but the vast majority of it is more alongside Zenkoku-hen rather than the first season, so yes chronologically-speaking it is more sensical to watch Achiga-hen in-between the first anime season and this one.

So the anime actually happen during the tournament but with different school. Well that make sense to watch Achiga. I thought it was a different story and I was gonna ignore it for some time. Thanks for the info btw.

It's basically like this: Achiga and Kiyosumi are on the opposite sides of the Nationals bracket so you can see what happens on both sides without spoiling the other very much

Literally all of them are no pan. Concept of underwear doesn't exist in 2050.

True but Zenkoku-hen already kinda spoiled a bit from Achiga-hen so it's probably better to watch Achiga-hen first. Also, main Saki anime likes to add small bits here and there compared to source material so the studio might incorporate some scenes from Achiga-hen.

Though I did notice at the end with the skirt scene, I had no idea they were all nopan. I clearly haven't been paying attention.

Definitely watch Achiga first. If not for the sake of their team, you'll get plenty of backstory for Nodoka! And the main continuity here will eventually take things farther than Achiga.

It's a spinoff, but you can make your own opinion of it. Be wary of the Achiga haters. There seem to be many around here.

I'm so happy Saki is back. I've been waiting for this since the last season ended. I would love for Kiyosumi to win the nationals but more importantly, I want to see what happens when Saki finally sees her sister again. They talked about it so much in the first season, I was so disappointed that they never met there. Plus, with the Achiga girls wanting to see Nodoka so badly. This will definitely be an interesting season.

I'm also happy to see Kanbara this season. Love her 'wahaha'.

I don't think we even got to see it in the manga yet. So if we're lucky we'll get to see that fateful encounter in a couple of years >_< Wahaha.

Makes me wonder how many chapters the finals will make up. XD
Right now, it seems for each player for the semi-finals in the manga go as far as 6 chapters each match. So weill probably have to wait 18 months for the 3 remaining matches to see the finals start in the manga if it remains a monthly release...

The prequel and the spinoff series were mediocre sports shows at the very best but since I've seen them I might just as well keep watching.
Ep. 1 wasn't exciting either. It might turn out better though when the actual games start, we'll see.

So is there a female archetype that this anime hasn't done yet? Lmao.

Was also wondering why Saki was wearing a long skirt, back in Achiga, I guess that explains why.

Also ew at the priest girl made purposely for lolicons.

How is Saki manga? Is it still in semi final? Are they still in vanguard, sergeant, lieutenant, vice captain or captain?
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

There was no retcon. Ritz Kobayashi is involved in the production of all manga and anime series. The Saki–Achiga encounter is all a matter of perspective. Recall that Saki also has the ability to gauge the strength of players, albeit not as accurately as her sister. All she knows is that Shizuno has some sort of hidden ability and not her friendly personality. As a result, her view of Shizuno is different from what we know her to be.

I'm glad Gokumi redrew the opening ceremony to correct the mistake in the first series and Blu-ray of labeling this tournament as the 89th Inter High.

It seems they've also put a voice actor for Mayuko Tajihi in this episode. I hope we get more backstory to her in the future.

Well it's finally time to continue the series where I don't know what's going on half of the time but still pulls me in and keeps me watching. I'm guessing the team Saki passed by was from that other season, I should probably get to that eventually since I'll be out of the loop on any references to it.

Looking forward to how these nationals shape up, so many contenders. Also that announcer Kouko is really hyper and funny, hope to hear her throughout the season.

And after the enjoyable Achiga-hen, is time to go back to the main cast! Loved to see everyone back, including the characters from other schools (Butler still best!)

Calm episode, classic fanservice (now with levitating towels) and lots of hype.

I have to make a confession tho, I honestly started the Saki series due to Kasumi Iwato's character, I loved how she looked, I can't wait to see her in action!

Nice start.

Those new teams are quite interesting. Hatsumi and Toyone are two the most distinctive girls. Hatsumi's headdress is pretty cool. Toyone is so freaking tall! The official Saki Wiki says she's 197 cm which makes her even 6 cm taller then me.

That announcing duo, Kouko and Sukoya are so hilarious.

Poor Saki got lost again. xD
