An emotional episode... with Fate having been absorbed. I guess it's up to Nanoha. I knew there was something up with the twins and Admiral, but even they were doing what they thought was right.

With three episodes left, I doubt Nanoha will defeat the book of darkness during the next episode. And I didn't expect her friends to show up like that.

Fate got absorbed and we have Nanoha going head to head with the book of darkness. So now we have to wait for Chrono to save the day with Durandal?

This is the grahams error and the twins fault if they didn't anger hayate in the form of nanoha and fate this wouldn't happen. They made a big mistake.

While it's bad for Nanoha and Fate, i liked that the eay way out, as in, talking, doesn't work so far.

Why would the book care about what they say? Even if it has a heart and feelings, which is stupid to assume it in the first place. The tears where Hayate's according to the book, and words can not be sad by themself. "xy died" may be sad, if it's someone you liked, and it may be reason to rejoice if it's someone you didn't like - especially in the context of such a setting, where true evil defintively does exist. And the face wasn't particular sad besides the tears, and it may also still be influenced by Hayate.

To sum it up: The books master had a clearly defined wish, fulfilling this wish as fast and exact as possible is the sole purpose of the book as far as we know and should be the most logical way of making it's master happy anyways.

How the hell did those two get trapped in the barrier?! And why just them? This is stupid -__- Like come on okay they're going to know soon anyway but not like this.

"May those who defy their fate be granted glory."

Wait, what? The twins were the guys accelerating everything because of their father and Chrono finally found out about it, great detective work by the way!

The two classmates have seen them, maybe they could do memory wipe or something.

NOOO!!! O_o

Even after the reveal, I don't understand why the twins transformed into Fate and Nanoha when they tried to make Hayate activate the book. Did they do it because they wanted the book to stay in one place while they cast the freezing spell instead of running around trying to find the masked men?

On another note, I sincerely hope we get to see Signum again. It would be way too cruel to part with her like that.

I wonder, how Alisa and Suzuka will react later to all of this.. Well, I can guess..
Em.. What the hell happened to Fate?.. Though, next episode preview suggests that maybe Fate will get chance to speak with Hayate like this, or something..

The 2 masked people were actually Aria & Lotte, in a previous episode we saw Chrono looking at info on Gill Graham, he was definitely onto something and was correct.

Turns out Graham was a friend of Hayate's father and has found a way to completely destroy the book, I don't want to see Hayate be sacrificed for that to happen though.

This new being is very powerful as expected, can even use Nanoha moves like that starlight breaker due to Shamal capturing the magic form the core linker.

Wrong place and time from Arias & Suzuka to appear, Nanoha & Fate are on the scene to protect them, good thing Yuno was also there to teleport them away to safety, they will obviously need to explain things to them eventually, Fate won't be doing any of the soon though she just got absorbed by the book.
I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

So all my theorizing about Chrono's dad was wrong. But I was right about the Admiral trying to permanently deal with the Book of Darkness! I'm chalking this one up as a mixed win and loss for my predictive skills.

I don't have much to say. This episode was awesome. I can't wait for Fate and Hayate to talk. You can save the girl, Fate! This is your time to shine! Just kidding, literally 100% of your screentime is your time to shine because you're amazing.

As an aside, I want to mention the transformation sequence in the opening. It's short, but I love it so much. It gets me excited every time. The quickness of the movement and how it lines up with the music is just so satisfying. Also, anyone who has mixed feelings about the barbie-doll nude shot at the start of it: go watch Kill la Kill, it will cure you of your instinctive disgust reaction to nudity. In Kill la Kill, nudity is one of the major themes.

It represents a lot of things at various points of the story, but the biggest and most lasting impression it gives is one of purity, honesty, and vulnerability. There's a reason the final moment after the climax is of literally every single character in a big pile naked together, and it has absolutely nothing to do with sexuality - they have put aside their differences to save the world, and in this moment of victory they are all truly connected. All the walls they put up, all the lashing out they did to stay isolated and safe from anyone who might try to hurt them - all of it has been stripped away.

Nudity in a magical girl transformation sequence serves the same purpose. The character is stripped of their mundane self, reduced to the purest expression of their soul, and only then is their magical power layered on top. The magical girl side of the character is neither separate from their mundane self nor the same as them. They are just both different expressions of the same fundamental person. Two contexts, two lives, two outfits. One person.

Honestly thinking about it as I write this out, I can't believe I never realized just how much of a magical girl anime Kill la Kill is? Its themes about clothing strike a real chord with the genre.

Anyways.
