Do you guys know of any anime that surpass even Mars of Destruction? I certainly have never seen anything like it. Discuss, suggest, and maybe we'll take a look and decide.

Reiteration for great justice.
I said:
Moekan is far worse. Oh, how I hate Moekan. At least one of the characters in it was a bit cute, very cute even, she saved it a bit.

But oh how I hate Moekan. It isn't only absolutely retarded, it is badly researched too, which is a real feat when dealing with an android-battlemaids-combat-training-school (which is inexplicibly assaulted by the bosses of it because they want the headmaster off the island. They could just have fired him. But then none of them should even exist as bosses and headquarters are impossible to have in a fucking anarchist "nation" (how do you have an anarchist nation? Seriously? HOW?)).

Oh, it makes my blood boil with indignation. A -nation anarchists actually can have.

Goddamn Moekan.

Rant-inducing slight that one.

In terms of pure concentration, I think Mars of Destruction wins over anything else I've seen. If you take my collected irritation at Black Cat over 23 episodes, it might stand a chance, though. Honestly, how many secret organizations of people with special powers does one series need? Plus it has an extremely cheesy attitude towards life and death which was not just condescending and overly blunt, but often self-contradicting.

And then you have...

Strange, I feel like I've seen him somewhere before. Is it the long white hair? The black robe? The crazy obsession with the main character? The 7-foot-long katana?

I always got that confused with Chrono Crusade lmao.

I do admit that Mars of Destruction (henceforth, MoD) is pretty overrated. I mean when you have such a big name studio and famous voice actors and directors, combined with awesome flashy art sometimes the plot or dialogue is slightly overlooked. Though the plot is still a beautiful, tearjerking tale of young lovers in search of their destinies, I think it could have been developed more if it were a 26 episode series.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a close second for me, but Mars of Destruction definitely tops it.

I gave honestly a 7, it wasn't all that bad. I pretty much enjoyed it more than some other anime which are ranked much higher. I wouldn't say it's 'wasting 20 minutes of your life' since others do the same. They were being smart to make just one episode instead of 12-26 worthless episodes like others. Now, I would call THAT wasting time.

With a straight face, I can logically argue a 4 for MoD because of enjoyment. But yeah a 7 is impossible for me.

I gave animation a 3, sound a 4 (hey, it may be misused but it's still Moonlight Sonata dammit!), characters and story a 1, and enjoyment a 9. Round it out and it sits at a 3, which feels right.

Erm, overall ratings for me are low but it was pretty funny. Comparing to some, I had to give it a decent rating to surpass the ones I didn't like. And again, it's just one episode. What do you expect?

With great well-developed characters and plot, how can it not be seen as the greatest?

I agree. For instance, a single minute of Lucky Star is much more painful to watch than 20 minutes of MOD.
I'm still giving it a 4, though.
