| Everyone is hating on Shoko, and it really bothers me… Here’s why… I feel very sorry for her. She feels betrayed that Haruto kept something so huge from her, and he didn’t remember one of their most personal and private memories. You have to remember, Shoko hasn’t seen all of the stuff we have seen, and doesn’t know what Haruto and the other Kamitsuki have gone through. All she knows is that her best friend and crush is immortal and a vampire. As far as she knows, he could have had his body taken over by an evil entity, she doesn’t know if he’s even her Haruto anymore. Then when she finally realizes what she’s done, she has to put on a brave face for all the people who still don’t trust him. She wants to help him, but her responsibilities as Prime Minister takes that opportunity away from her. She has to deal with both her own interests, and the interests of the people of New JIOR. So, she isn’t a jerk, she has to make the right decisions to keep everything in order, and she isn’t perfect so she will make mistakes. Of course you have to remember, we as the viewers have seen everything, and most of the other characters in the series don’t have that ability, so they might make the wrong decisions. But, she’s a strong person staying calm and composed despite the fact that her world is caving in. Plus, you can’t forget the fact that Haruto did kill her father, and as far as she knows, her Haruto might as well be dead along with her father. She’s a very complicated character, and that’s one of the reasons I like her. TL;DR: Shoko is not a jerk, she’s a strong character who is in a bad situation. |

Furthermore, this might be debatable but even if she told the rest of the student body about the info in valvrave 1, they might not be convinced and might turn against her. | I can't fathom how anyone can hate Shoko. She risked starting a Civil War even after she found out how Haruto had become a Kamitsuki for her. She wanted to help him, but instead had to restrict him to the hangar to not cause a riot or a civil war among the other students she was with, think of it as Iori's faction. It was even commented on how Shoko was having to put on a brave face for everyone, but it goes to show when you are in a position of power, you have to sacrifice the things you want, for the good of everyone as a whole. She wanted to be with Haruto, but not at the risk of splitting Module 77/New Jior in half. You have to remember Shoko didn't have any idea about what being a Valvrave pilot entailed. She just knows that her childhood friend is now immortal, and no longer has the memories of times when they were young, possibly even the moments when they began to fall in love. In many science fiction shows a person gets their body taken over by an evil life form, and no one can tell the difference, and the viewers can easily call the characters stupid, because they don't know what is obvious to the viewer. If someone you knew was missing their memories, and no longer human, could you logically assume that they were still the same person you knew? Memories make us who we are, and even without the whole Kamitsuki aspect, if Haruto began to lose his memories, he was beginning to lose track of who he was as a person. This is why when Shoko finds out that Haruto became this "monster" for her, she was overcome with grief, and wished nothing more to apologize, but couldn't in order to maintain a sense of calm among the people of her country. She had to sacrifice what she really wanted to do, to try and keep a peace going. Sure, she made a mistake, but from her perspective she had no idea what was going on, so she didn't know she was making a mistake until later. Also, you can't forget that she is 17 years old... the human brain doesn't completely mature until about 25, so she's going to make some bad decisions. Her only fault is not knowing what was obvious to the viewer, and we can't blame her, because no one told her. Perhaps if Haruto or any other of the Kamitsuki had told everyone early on, things would have turned out differently. They chose not to tell everyone, and they had their own reasons for doing that, so the wedge that appeared in Shoko and Haruto's relationship really couldn't have been prevented. |

You can hate a person, you can hate her but you can not hate her for those reasons because it's unfair. No way in hell you can call an anime character human. She was annoying as shit. Even if we imagine they found a way, this is another reason as to why the ending is close to being a nonsense. SHE SO SPESHUL that her memories never run out. Half her head is filled with musicals. |

| If I remember correct, all students are special, and all of them can Valvrave... (first season) that's why when somebody from outside school couldn't pilot Valvrave... so they aren't special enought to live longer than others? I belive she isn't pilot... She just wear his outfit *.* |
| You have to remember Shoko isn't the only character at the end if the series who became a Kamitsuki. Satomi did as well, and presumably others did as well. That way the runes aren't all drawn from a single person, hence why their memories don't disappear. The students collectively became Valvrave pilots so what affected Haruto and Marie wouldn't happen again. If people hate Shoko because they find her annoying, I can't argue that because it's subjective, but if they hate her for supposedly betraying the Kamitsuki, I can't fathom why. It seems like people are having a lot of knee jerk reactions and are failing to think about her situation logically. |
