| I happen to like those parts as well, usually anime doesn't have enough of those scenes where the characters are just hanging around and we get to learn more about them. If done right it really lets you know more about the character.....not sure if you will understand what I mean. I was surprised when that little dog ripped a mans throat out, it was cool though. |

| That dog reminded me so much of Hachi I can't help but compare the sword fights to Rurouni Kenshin's so my standards are high lol. The last fight was sick though, imo the best part. It was awesome when Nanashi finally unsheathed his katana I'm just glad the doggeh's alive. |

| I knew it was good, but I had no idea it would be so well recieved. I first saw it at the theater when the dubs came out. The people in the forum I used at the time thought it was mediocre, dirivitive and trite. I haven't heard anything like that here. I always knew they were wrong. =0) |

This is the loose end, the unanswered question. Did Nameless live or die? He sounded okay* but he was still bleeding heavily. It all comes down to whether the boy was right about the town being close. I think they left it this way on purpose. They wanted us to have this conversation. *I wonder how well he sounded in the original Japanese? |

| Just now watching it, about 14 minutes in, love the dog!! Like it so far, but does anyone else think the music is a little awkward sometimes? Like i said only 14 mins in but that was the first thing that struck me about this anime. :/ |

| I gave it an 8/10. It gave off a feel of a Ghibli film imo, the music and the animation created this. Which isn't a bad thing to me. My music weirdness is a little hard to explain, basically, the tone of the music didn't fit the tone of the anime. (This was only a two or so times throughout the whole anime) It could be just me, i just happened to notice it right as i started the anime and it stuck. Overall a very good anime, the action sequences were phenomenal and i absolutely adored the dog. I feel like i missed information while they were talking in Chinese. :| |
| Yeah we missed that as well, until the last part you could understand by the tone but I would still like to have known exactly what they were saying. Agreed the fight scenes wee great, the dog was great. |

| If anything, I thought the music was overly dramatic, FA. I loved it, so I didn't care. I have a few new things to say about the movie. I took my copy with me to Ocqueoc. I spent so much time deciding what anime to take with me that I forgot to take any regular stuff for my anime-hating friend. Then we couldn't get the satellite working so all we had to view was whatever little broadcast gargage we could pull in and my anime. So my friend relented and asked if I had anything he might like. Turned out he liked SOTS so much that he insisted we see it again the next night when his nephew arrived. Turns out my dvd copy had subtitles for some of the Chineese stuff. When Blondie sits down to die at the end, he talks about how he has never been stabbed before and how strange it feels. Very un-Blade-Runner-like. |
