THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Seems like the whole problem with Mihara is sorted out now. Him uncollaring was a pretty decent scene. I don't really see the next match as being all that interesting, though. What's really left?

And plenty of One Outs Drinking Game Material:

1. The Lycaons batting lineup - Even the Pirates aren't that bad
2. Tokuchi's intentional balks - nobody throws that many intentionally
3. Shirooka's shock that Tokuchi/Ideguchi's pick speed went up by .03 seconds - I mean, really.

hm, we are now at approximately 6th manga volume from 19
but eah, it might get more boring.
It was difficult for me to watch Kaji after 13th episode. But here I like the setting better.

Yeah, it was to much intentional balks.
It is very Japanese about measurements and statistics. Actually I was a little sceptical (but tried not to think much about it) about those numbers/secondsw, because no one can make this results consistently.

With Mihara it is clear now. What is with owner. Is he stupid or what. Every time he thinks that he is going to win and then gets angry, when Tokuchi makes it his way.

Definitely agree. I can see Toua's explanation now:

"I cut off .06 seconds by..."

lol, it hardly counts as plotkai. I'm pretty sure anyone could increase their throwing speed by a whole 1 mph under pressure.

Alternate explanation: Toua moved 3rd base back by 2 inches while no one was looking.

lulz. I was just messing around. the shortcoming could be very well on Johnson's end with some mistake on his slide to home plate. either way, its still KEIKAKU DOORI for Tokuchi.

Well, he's got a slow throwing speed to begin with, perhaps he's just concealing his power level.

Little did everyone know, Toua could really pitch Over Ni... Ah, screw it. However, that is really the perfect explanation. I'll go with it, it's exactly the kind of shit he'd pull too.

Lol at the manager turning into a dog with a pink puff of smoke! But man he only just realised that something is going between the owner and Toua? -_-

Stopping any changes on the field, while manuipulated the manager to disobey the owner, thats some epic 'keikaku doori' right there!!!! Seriously never get tired of the owner realising he's been had! 'Miharaaaaaa!!!' ;>

Also Johnson's face was hilarious when they moved in for the nine player infield. Although I understand since it looked like they were going to beat him up ^^;

Lol at Toua moving the base!! XP But yeh from the 2.6 seconds recorded doesn't seem Johnson changed speed, so the pitch must have. So either concealed power, or an external factor, e.g. like the rain in the Mariners game?

In conclusion, tentative yearly salary 4.2 billion yen!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol, I said that, not naikou.

But yeah, if it's some weird external factor like humidity, I'm probably going to get annoyed but then forgive it.

I'm sure it's no big deal to through the ball slightly faster.

Up until then he had no need to really.

He is just toying around with the tricks

Plus maybe the catcher moved a little faster

Maybe it's because he beat Johnson psychologically? His confidence was destroyed and he wasn't able to run as well as he usually does. The base moving is also possible though...

Good episode, excited to see what the next team will be like.

In episode 11 they said, that Tokuchi needs 1.94 s to throw a ball, but in this episode it took him only 1.06 s.
Anyway, Tokuchi`s lips looked kind of weird. >.>

That's what I thought! And his speech might've influenced Ideguchi as well.
(Base moving? XDDDD)

The next team I read online a while ago, is the BlueMars and it said something like:
Scott Williams, the relief ace. Throws the knuckleball?! Pedro Rodrigo, the league's top home runner.

its probably because he forced the batter to bunt, so that he could throw outside his batting range which put the ball in the perfect spot to put Johnson out.

Right that's his point..and the batter is only good with bunt, but never thought about how Tokuchi want to prove to the world that Johnson speed is useless

I'm really not a sadistic person but I can't help but lmao everytime the owner realises he's been had by Tokuchi. xD How can he still think that he'd be able to outwit Tokuchi, anyways? It should be pretty obvious by now that he won't get a single Yen from him.^^

Great episode and I loled at the dog costume.

Personally I think Toua just increased his pitch's speed, but he could of thrown without winding up as much as normal or maybe the catcher increased his speed.

Badass.

I wonder how Toua managed to beat Johnson this time since he couldn't use any tricks?

Watching the owner rage was so satisfying. Hope owner has learned that multiplying the earnings and losses from the One Outs contract just ends up hurting him more than it helps him though knowing that greedy bastard, he probably won't.

I'm going to miss Johnson's engrish. It's so glorious.

Awesome episode! 9/10

Well the obvious explanation is this time the catcher dodged to his left to catch the ball . . . This puts him directly on the 3rd base line, as opposed to having to dodge right putting him on the opposite side of home plate. Of course if it doesn't mention this (which should have been the obvious solution against left handed batters to stopping Johnson), then I'm going to guess that it had to do with Johnson's mentality.

Ahhhh, seeing the owner lose his shit is always priceless. 4,200,000,000 yens... And they aren't even mid-season!

Like Toua demonstrated, Johnson ability was only made of smoke and mirrors. It had a nice surprise effect, but if you keep your mind cool, you can easily detect the flaw in a batter that can only run and bunt.

It was nice to see the manager reject the orders. Oh, poor him... He's gonna eat it when he'll meet the owner.
