So the fake Akagi is dead. I was hoping that the crooked cop would have died with him. That cop has A LOT of nerve facing Akagi after he walked around with that impostor and made money off of him too.

Why is Akagi walking like a rhythmless drunkard in the new ED? I hate that!!

What a timing. Why do they always come when the MC is on the verge of death.

I think that he understands that Akagi doesn't care about that at all. If he even thinks about it, its probably just to laugh at a mildly amusing joke.

They should be more honest with Akagi. He's not the only one that could stop the murderer (the police could with a simple sting operation) and everyone in that room knows it, and knows that everyone else knows it. This is about money and taking insane risks for the sake of taking insane risks, and nothing else.

The episode was great, it shows this series can still turn better and more interesting.
Killings make it more dangerous and the life of Akagi is threatened more often now.
At least I understood everything with no mahjong involved.

Those other gamblers are such sore losers, they just couldn't admit that the dice roll was even, even though it was even.

Yikes, some of the comments are a bit concerning. Sure the guy was a fake but being happy that he got killed and wishing that the crooked cop had died as well is pretty fucked up. That's the internet for you I guess.

Probably because the shows revolve around the MC? xD Only a problem when it happens multiple times tbh.

Too many 'nasty' comment out here. That police cop is really nice guy and thanks to him Akagi escaped from unneccessary trouble on the very first arc.

Anyway that man-eating tiger opponent pumped me up for this arc! Nice to see Akagi finally found first-rated/worthy gambler.

The second half begins and it shows a string of sadistic serial murders ordered by the Yakuza boss of a lot of other Yakuza bosses with the most current victim being Fake Akagi of all people. Getting so much of his blood sucked out of his forearm enough to kill him must've been a very agonizing way to go...
The episode further escalated by showing Akagi's resolve spitting in the face of death by sticking to the truth despite having a blade dug into his shoulder. It was really fortunate for Yasuoka and Ohgi to be there because dying by the hand of cheap cowards who turned back on their word in a dingy gambling house would've been very pitiful.

Akagi wasn't fazed by the fact that he nearly died and he was actually looking for a more dangerous challenge. Ohgi has just the thing for him and looks like he's definitely in the hunt now.

About time Akagi is facing a real monster.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Finally, some real stakes, no borrowed money, and no weak opponents.

Also, I see now that due to Akagi being an extraordinary person, he is bored with life, he wants to feel the risk of being alive and the chance of dying for no reason, rather than dying because of some sort of ideal or "fake" narrative that he can put through his head. He sees the "bullshit" through everyone's eyes, everyone is faking it until they make it but he doesn't want that, because he can't feel the risk of bluffing at all. I think that I understand his character a lot more now.
