I usually respect all opinions, but that's just wrong. Sure, Tomoki was reluctant at first because of the wings, but she grew on him, and by the end of season two he 'adopted' another 3 Angeloids, giving up his 'peace and quiet'. I don't see how that makes him bad male lead, on the contrary.

Sure, Ikaros deserves a little more, but that's no excuse to hate the male lead.

Yeah I think he warms up to her, I see that picture of Tomoki's grandpa online a couple of times that says even if it isn't human what's the problem if it has boobs.

Okay. Not making a move on her because of his lame excuse of her not being a human is a lie. He has sexually harassed the other two and pursued a romantic relation with another until she died, was erased from existence, came back, and restored to her old life. Personally, I think he is like that because Ikaros is not very good at knowing her own emotions and expressing them. He feels that since they were once slaves, it might be wrong to take advantage. He is wrong in believing that, but time is needed for him to grow and realize his own feelings. A male MC is a male MC and they are usually and stereotypically dense regarding people who actually love him. and he is not good at expressing himself in a non-perverted and mature way

yeah tomoki is just a little bitch. The guy peeps on school girls like a creepy pervert but he's too much of a little sour puss to actually capitalize on the harem of girls just begging for his attention. I used to like this series for the comedy and the girls but watching a MC who doesn't appreciate his amazing living situation at all has become more annoying than anything. I'm really not sure I want to go through another season of wishing he'd just sack up and make a move already.

We need an MC who wants to go balls deep every damn day, enough with the kiddy bullshit if you're gonna make a series that is literally all about hot girls and pseudo-sexual encounters then they need to be not afraid to go all the way with it. Quit worrying about what the 15 year old Japanese kids parents will think I mean an ecchi anime is what it is.

There are always guys like Tomoki, but seriously, just think what the show would be like without him. It'd be more romance then comedy, and that's what "Ah! My Goddess" is for. But I'm betting in S3 he'll start taking his relationships more seriously, I mean he'll still be a pervert but if you saw what happened in the Season Finale of S2, he had to think about the whole wedding thing before Chaos crashed the party. Either way, Tomoki kind of makes the show.

Well, Tomoki definitely is not Itou Makoto level. I can see why some ppl can hate him, but really, I think he is a great male lead for we can see altho on the outside, he looks all reluctant, he truly cares for ALL the angeloids.
Hence the reason I dislike the over-used chibi in this show. It kinda undermines Tomoki when in all reality, he is a respectable character.

This anime is an ecchi-action-comedy. Romance is just on the side.
I think Tomoki's an OK main character for such a show. I do prefer a character like that to one who's gonna be all shy and over-react all the time to girls hitting on him. I don't know why Tomoki is blamed for having all the girls fall for him. It's a typical harem setting, and it doesn't need to make sense either. I guess he lacks some depth and development, but this show is more of a comedy than a romance, so I think it's ok.
Also, you can't blame Tomoki for not being more dedicated to Ikaros, as he's completely oblivious to all the girls falling for him (as 99% of all main characters lol).

But I do find his over-used chibi form to be annoying lol.

i think you people don't get it there is not gonna be real romance on this no matter how many seasons it gets because it is a harem ecchi thats the genral rule of this genre i don't know why writers decide it that way but it can't be helped

Isn't that the point of a Harem though? If you pick one of the girls, then it will no longer be a harem. This might be why so many Harems including this one, try to avoid the main character picking one of the girls. That is why the scene where they were going to get married was more of a appeaser for people who were saying "have him pick a person!". Just a thought, though.

Tomoki is the broad generalization and overused template of a main character in most any Comedy/Romance anime. He is a completely useless idjit with no consolation for any respect out of anyone on the outside, but a completely caring individual who'll go out of his way to protect the people in his life in the inside.

This isn't porn, or straight up romance. He's not trying to gain any type of relationship with any of the girls within his life. His perverted side is for the comedy and nothing else. No he is not in there just to be a "fucking pervert." No he is not "fucking annoying." His actions are SUPPOSED to be shallow and undermining in an attempt to get the fucking viewer to take pity on his sorry ass. That way, in the parts where it DOES matter, it has a much more emotional impact; thus, bringing a stronger ending to the actual events, which happen to be what end the series.

The main plot boys and girls, which MAY surprise you, is NOT the relationship Tomoki has with the Angeloids, rather, the action which takes place in the angeloids' attempt at escaping the synapse. Tomoki is the poor SAP who got mixed in with the ordeal, the story is not based off a fucking visual novel where the MC has sex with whatever he can fucking get.

i can understand if people bitch about his character at the END of the series/manga but to bitch when its not even finished? there is still so many unanswered questions.

It's true, Tomoki get's on my nerves... he has 4 girls madly in love with him (with the exception of Astraea), and he doesn't go for any of them... and now with the inclusion of Chaos... I don't know what to think anymore... but my best guess is that eventually he will go for one of them, if not go with the ways of polygamy and marry all of them. I wouldn't say I hate him though, just because he brings the comedy we all love to the anime. :)
