I don't think they actually subbed Ryoko Case files slow. That doesn't really matter if that take 2 weeks for them to subbed one episode. Hope they can do something like that on this

There are like a hundred different groups that are supposedly subbing this and no one has put out the first episode yet? Either no one cares about this series or it's intelligent dialogue must be translated just right to fully convey the deep meaning behind an undead high school girl fighting...well, other undead stuff. I'm guessing it's the former.

They're streaming it for free, that's usually enough for most people. Be glad they're doing that at the least. It wasn't long ago that when stuff was licensed all groups dropped it and it wasn't available at all until released in R1.

Of course, somebody will probably torrent the downloads anyway, so you can just get those.

When was this? I remember if one of the 'big, established' groups dropped it because of licensing issues, usually another smaller(one man job?) group took its place, well that's if it was popular enough to warrant it.

I heard that Tomodachi is doing it now. Their website is

They have episodes 1-3 released so far. Hope that helps some of you guys. -_-

They're also providing a downloadable (and presumably higher quality version), but you'd have to pay for that. Though at $2 per episode the series would only cost $26 in the end (around the price of one DVD).

And it's only available in the USA. :( Well, their loss if they don't want my money. Not necessarily for this series yet, but a couple of the other ones they have there I'd definitely pay for.

That group release their files under [TMD]
The quality are extremely good as their files are less than 150 mb...I hope someone can do HD version but it is unlikely because of the license....

That is not a sign of quality, at least definitely not of translation quality. And the quite weird differences between their and Lunar's translations make me doubt their quality a lot. I might not know much Japanese, but even I can see which translation actually makes sense.

As mentioned beforehand, let's not be choosy if TMD's translation is 100% correct or it's HD. Beggars can't be choosy, as the saying goes. Most of us don't give a rip. I compared Lunar and TMD and because Lunar dropped it, we are left with TMD, and that's the reality of it.

Apparently Tomodachi (friend) dropped it but Teki (enemy) has picked up right where TMD left off. Teki is even using their styles and linked OP.

So far they're only releasing HD though, so if you want SD, wait a couple of weeks and watch it streaming.

I don't like the fact that they're releasing chapters, but I don't have much of an option at this point.

I will just be amused one of these days when Funimation forgets/is slow at releasing one of the videos on their youtube channel and then fans simply come bashing them for slow release like they do with fansubbers (WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF FANSUBS!) XD

Well Kit, the difference is that they PAID Funi for the release so they have every right to B*tch about it. You get what you paid for $1.99. On the other hand, ingrates who whine about the fansubbers not doing it fast enough should be hanged. DL'ers always forget that this is a free service (free until they ask for donations on their sites/irc) and they should be thankful that someone has the time & effort to do this stuff.

Rubbish! I have been downloading fansubs for years now and you haven't seen H264 under 150 mb?? Try Yakushiji ryoko no kaiki jikenbo(AonE and partner subber) and most of their h264 subs turned up at 105 mb, and just because it's smaller mb doesn't mean the quality went down. Aero subs recently produced subs at mkv at 848 resolution IN 125 mb and the qlty is hi def amazing.

You know who the amateur/lazy encoders are when a 704 reso sub encoded in avi or mkv turns up at MORE than 200 mb. It's the process of compression which is also important when "poor" downloaders don't have the space in their hard drives to keep all those fansubs unless they buy a separate hard drive.

Regarding TMD's subs, they are what they are and at par with Lunar's subs unless you could better..

Yes, Kaiki Jikenbou was pretty small and had decent quality. I admit that Lunar's are 220 mb and are no better than TMD. But the point I was making is not that only TMD are bad. I'm saying that there are no HD releases yet. And especially this series has a lot of dark scenes, the contours are not clear (Even the Lunar one).

And I have watched FSN with only 100mb files with pretty quality so I perfectly know what you mean (I have a friend in encoding btw). The point was that not yet one subber has provided a statifying video quality for this series. This is probably due to the quality of the original raws which can be bad. In the case of Yozakura Quartet, there isn't even widescreen because the broadcasted version are like that. And don't assume I just simply said TMD sucks because their file size is small. FYI I actually WATCHED their version and DID notice small differences in quality.

I DID NOT say that TMD sucked but I said their quality are NOT EXTREMELY GOOD. By not extremely good, I mean that they are still GOOD. And I am in no way complaining about theirs subs. As a GENERAL trend, low file size often results in reduced quality even though there are exceptions. Big files does not equal good quality. (my tone is starting to sound like angel999..lol..use of capital letters)

Since now it's licensed, I wonder if someone will actually torrent the official subs....

And by the way, shinsen-raws are really awful...

And also, I am one of those ""poor" downloaders don't have the space in their hard drives to keep all those fansubs unless they buy a separate hard drive.
" so I like small file size.

seems like it unless they're really slow. As far as I know most if not ALL groups even the minority and newly formed groups got C+D from Funimation. Of all sites, Tosho even got a C+D. If you try to search for the series using the name: Shikabane Hime, it gives you the C+D letter they got rather than any results

What we need are people who will sub it without listing any name, so Funimation cannot trace it back to a specific site. Just do it, throw it on some trackers, and run.

But we have to live with Funimation. It's not great, but it's...tolerable. Not as bad as some jobs, though not better than many, and not as good as most.

Youtube quality is terrible...even with their so called HQ feature. Also, I'd like to have an HD subbed version on comp without the Funimation logo. They have trashed my favorite shows in the past and even to this day, thus I'd prefer to have it straight and clean from Japan itself.

They could track the trackers since the trackers have all received C+D....what we need is IRCs and upload sites that protect anonymity (can share links around then). Many of which do.
