I liked this episode, though not as much as the others. I mean, Chikage was adorable and Tachibana was HILARIOUS, but I didn't like to see Ono get beaten up. Jean Baptiste should learn to control his temper.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next episode!

Why do the characters in the anime have to be so great? I'm not complaining though!

Pessimistic people like Ono really get to me. Even though he is a good person, he thinks mistakes of the past make him unworthy of good times? That is really quite sad and depressing. I smile every time Chikage cries for him, because that's what he really needs to realize - that he actually means something to someone.

Jean Baptiste is an ass and should have gotten punished for what he did -_- Blargh. Seeing him just walking away frustrates me.

Tachibana is hilarious and awesome and I love him.

God, I love this anime.

I loved it... I thought the whole drama with Jean Baptiste, although painful to watch at times, was really interesting. And that epic line of Tachibana's... AHAHAHA xD Chikage crying for Ono was so touching as well... I thought that scene was perfect <3

BUT, I wish they would stop trying to speak french. IT'S SO BAD IT MAKES ME CRINGE. Watching it makes me feel like my language is being raped right before my eyes T__T *is french*
I tried listening without the subtitles and I couldn't understand them... I think one of them attemted to say "aurevoir" at one point, and it sounded like "oleboa" to me (which in my head went to "oh le bois!" first - as in "oh, the wood!" ROFL). Sorry, but the french thing really annoyed me >__>

Haha, I know xD it's terrible when they try to speak foreign languages. At least there were subtitles to help.

Poor Tachibana... Ono doesn't really want to sleep with him. His pride has been srsly wounded.

Jean Baptiste was a bastard, I can't believe he beat up Ono for not going with him to France again.

I'm glad Tachibana and Chikage got there in time so his hand didn't get broken.

It's sad Ono doesn't find his job fun though :(

So he stayed there for Eiji, how sweet and then Eiji offered him his salary even though he had no money! awwwww! ;__________________;

Despite the comedic setup, I don't think I've seen an anime that's dealt with domestic abuse in such a straightforward and non-exploitative manner without becoming overly dramatic. No, because of the comedic setup, it allowed the show to return to its pleasant status quo, but the transition was eased into, preventing a stark whiplash from the previously heavy subject matter. It's probably because the comedy has never been overblown, allowing the atmosphere to maintain its slow nature in both comedy and drama. Wow.

They talk about domestic abuse so casually, I mean, it's kind of normal for victims to try to shake it off but eveyone? I guess is from a different time but also it looks like it's quite cheap to be an abuser in Japan.

Agree, I found that it wasn't handled very well. I think it has to do with the fact the it's also m/m violence. If Jean was beating up a woman, I think people would have way more issues with it but it's okay/ not as bad when it's a man. I'm sure there are people out there who call male victims weak. There's a big double standard around that. It was implied that Ono and Jean's relationship was toxic and abusive but I didn't think they'd actually go as far as to show Ono being beaten up and Jean threatening to break Ono's hand. The fact that Ono even said it was his fault too and apologised to Jean later for not going with him - hell no. Jean should've been arrested. Even today people don't really take violence or abuse against men seriously.

Liked the humor, but not the part where Ono said, that he deserved a beating. You can't say anything to get beaten up. Violence is bad. He has nothing to be sorry about.
