That's why it's mind numbing and how the heck did he really get convinced? There is nothing that explains that at all nor its main reasons.

The project needs to stop but if that's how the series will end with the school being demolished it will be a BAD END. That's all.

He's just the Principal so even if he doesn't like the idea, he probably can't do anything about it. The decision was probably made by whoever is funding the school.

School shutting down! o~o

Kona and Wakana made me really happy in this ep though, especially Wakana finally finishing that song, she looked so happy. I have high expectations of Kona making something good happen from this though. I'm looking forward to seeing their performance no matter where it is!

And dat dancing. <3

It's all about money as mentioned in my previous post the number of students is dropping each year.
Meaning less money comes in for the owner and funders of the school it also seems like a old school building so maintenance is expensive and then there is also the salary of the teachers.
By making it a luxury apartment complex the owner can make more money from the property and he won't have to worry about teachers salary anymore and depending wether he is selling or renting out the apartments he won't have to worry about maintenance either.
The teachers will probably find new jobs again since there is a shortage on teachers and the students will simply graduate or transfer out.

This still leaves quite a sour taste. I for one hope it is all stopped. There is a lot of memories from Sakai's mother in there and Sakai herself along with the gang so I think it should not be done just cause it's profitable. The question is how it will be stopped? Power of Music?

After watching this episode, i had the same feeling just like when i watched the last episodes of Hanasaku Iroha. Just like when Kissou Inn is closing, in here, their school is closing. Still, their bond is becoming strong, which is a big plus for characterization. Now i would want to see how strong it could them until the end.

Damn, i remember Hanasaku Iroha again, great ending. I feel like the same thing might happen here, so I can't wait to see what the last 2 episodes can show.

Sad that the school is closing but more importantly that the culture festival is cancelled T_T It's so cruel letting everyone get excited then tell them it's off.

Can't wait to hear Wakana's song in full, I'm sure it's going to be absolutely beautiful.

Wakana's song sounds so good. I'm definitely downloading this Anime's OST once it comes out. <3

We finally have the main conflict of the show.

I have a feeling that Sawa and Taichi are going to end up together. lol

If they somehow stop the school from being shut down by song, there is literally no God and this show would go from a 4-3 to a 1.

Finally? You don't count her undoing her shirt out of anger (who does that), fan-service?

I guess I should have been more specific.

Its been a while (3 weeks?) since we got some Sawa fanservice.

In any music-based medium, music=magic.
Did you not see what singing did to Wein and that thief?
Just rate it a 1 already, while I leave mine as a 10.

Yes I did, and it was dumb. I won't just rate it a 1 already though, because I enjoy putting at least a small amount of thought into my ratings. I say it looks to be in the realm of 3-4 not because I'm "a hater", or because it's the worst ever, but because it's well below the average show I've seen. That's all.

Edit: I just rewatched the last few minutes, and the dialogue is much more ambiguous than I thought. The initial impression that I got was that they were renovating the school, and the principal's defense was that the impact on current students would be minimal. Now, particularly noticing what Wakana said afterwards about the school shutting down, I can see it going either way. I'm not sure if it was the actual dialogue of CR's translation, but that whole scene definitely could have been conveyed better.

They are building condos where the school used to be. They have suspended applications for new students, and are setting up temporary facilities to house classrooms for the final two years for the first and second year students that are already at the school. Didn't seem that ambiguous to me... The renovations to the main building are to change it from a school to a condo. (Did you watch a fan-sub or CR? Just curious cause it might be a bad translation that is the issue...)

Sawa wore quite a revealing outfit in the beginning even if it was just Konatsu's imagination and I bet Taichi was happy to see her panties when she danced. I would like to see some consistency in her breast size, I felt like they were smaller again.

It's pretty fucked up that their school is essentially closing down, I wonder if it can still be saved.

It is amazing how much a blazer can mask a woman's figure. It isn't really that unrealistic that her breasts look smaller when she is wearing loos fitting clothes than they do in a bikini... (She may also wear a sports bra at school so her breasts don't bounce as much in PE class, which would hold things closer and tighter than a bikini... I'm sure she wears one when riding.)

When Konatsu said, that the vice principal was robot like, I really hoped to see an imagination of hers, where the vice principal looks robotish. Would've been funny. =(

Other than that, I'm pretty glad this show is over soon. Really not my cuppa tea. Way too overdramatized and shallow in presentation.

Well, fuck.
What's up with the government not waiting for the academic year to end before starting any building works and seeting up provisional classes instead? This is plainly ridiculous and offensive to all students and teachers.
I just can't grasp how they can do it just like that. A really big dick move there.

Well, one big part of it is that it is not a public school, but a private school. The people who own it can pretty much do whatever they please, though they seem to need to have official approval from the parents.

Realize that high school in Japan is not compulsory. The vast majority of kids do go to high school, but it is not required. They chose their high schools more like the way we choose college here in the US, as opposed to living in a particular district and going to that school. There appears to be a higher percentage of private schools there than there is in the US as well. (Or perhaps it only seems that way because of all of the private high schools in anime...)

I was impressed by the smoothness and quality of animation again, as expected from PAWorks not to mention Wakana's lively smile at the end. I never thought a spice of life show like this could make me keep watching it till it ends, tari tari never bored me at all.

The scenes where every main character got their moments being alone is kinda reminiscent of the moments on Angel Beats episode 11. I can feel the emotion on this anime even though Tari tari is less emotional than AB!.

I agree with you that it's rather sad to see it all torn down because of profit it's a really nice looking building and it could still serve as a school for generations to come.
But a school can't function without students and with the student body getting smaller each year the owners have to do something with the property's.
As mentioned before child birth rates are low in Japan and even if it goes up drastically the coming few years it will take at least 15 years before high schools notice that increase in there student body.
No one knows what the future brings but it doesn't look like the child birth of Japan will increase anytime soon however this doesn't mean that it might increase over the next 10 to 20 years.
Still keeping a school with a small student body running for that long is very hard and for a property owner or investor it's much to long to wait.
It's sad but it's reality.

Because of that building project the whole festival has to be cancelled? What a load of bull! The headmaster is getting bossed around. Declining birthrate and loss of student appliances warrants the destruction of a school mid-year? Yeah right.

Anyway, Wakana finished the song and now they're going to organize their own White Festival! Looking forward to it.

This anime has just one sad thing after another. =/ The whole school just getting taken down like that would suck so much, hope things turn around and the students/ principal actually try to fight back. Situations like that always remind me of sad good byes.

At least one good thing came outta this episode with Wakana finishing her and her moms song. I can tell its gunna be great.

Oh, please. I for one am so happy that there is basically no fan service. Fan service ruins things for me - I don't need to see boobs bouncing around and panties being shown to cater to horny little teenagers. Go fap to HOTD if this isn't satisfying your needs.

This anime, while it has some generic things, is a breath of fresh air to me; I have thoroughly enjoyed every single episode so far. I have never cried at any anime besides the ending of Air but this one caught me off guard several times. It's nothing special at all, but this has to be one of my favorites of the season.
