| @Debaser The manga criticizes bullying and entitlement. It's shown through two characters, Manami and Katsumi. Both feel entitled to others and use their power to get it. They are both massive bullies as well. They're not good people, and this manga isn't trying to make them good people. They're depicted as evil, which they should be. Sure they have some sad backstories, Manami being bullied in middle school and Katsumi being abused by his strict father, but it still doesn't give them any excuse to be terrible. Several characters have attempted to break through to them and help them, but Manami and Katsumi chose evil, each and every time. It mirrors some people in real life who do bad things and don't feel bad. There's an ex bully of mine who is a really terrible person. He's as evil as these two are. He had no empathy for anyone. When a girl fell out, due to malnourishment, he laughed. He laughed at a guy getting beaten up, he has beaten up guys, he's smacked women across the face, has sexually harassed women, has brutally mocked others, etc. There was no redemption for him. He transferred to another school, and caused trouble there. People even asked why he was such a bad person, but there was no answer other than "he hung around a bad group of people and was influenced by them". |
