| Okay, so it's finally out, and compared to the original, it holds nothing to it I think being too rushed and what not. But doing my best to forget the original, it wasn't that bad. Would it be something I'd read? Yes, though not one of the ones where I couldn't wait for the next chapter. So I for one will continue reading it for at least one or two more chapters and see where it goes. |

| While I'm less than enthused about this take of RK, I will nevertheless read it. Ugh, why can't Shueisha just give the fans what they want and instead of all of these butchered adaptations of RK that just laugh in the face of the original, provide a fully animated 26 episode series of the Jinchuu arc. Gah!! Also, if any of the translators lurk this thread, there are instances where keeping the japanese word makes things much easier to read. In this case, "this lowly one," although correct (or "this unworthy one" is also applicable), should probably just be kept as "sessha." It makes it much easier to read and flows better, imo. If you guys left in "hitokiri," I don't see a reason not to leave in "sessha." |
| Not as good as the original (duh) but if I don't compare to the original then it's not bad. The changes are interesting and I wouldn't mind reading more of it to see where it goes. |

| I don't really like this version too rushed, strange Kenshin, and a very shonen-like plot (its on SQ, I think it's okay to add some blood since SQ is semi-seinen magazine) well, I shouldn't get my hopes high for the next chapter |

Gah!! This. IMO this is completely unnecessary. The original stands well enough on its own merit, and anyone whose read it I'm sure would agree. Even those new to the series would probably be better served by starting with the original. |

| How long has it been since I've heard Kenshin's "Oro"? ^^ I knew if I kept comparing it to the original I would be disappointed. So I treated it as an alternate take of Rurouni Kenshin like Watsuki's oneshot of Rurouni Kenshin where Kaoru, Yahiko and Megumi were siblings with slightly different personalities. I wonder how far this will go? As for Kenshin referring to himself as "this lowly self" I replaced it with Viz's translation "this one" which read more smoothly. |

| I thought it was pretty good, my only question is will this be similar to what was done with Evangelion. A remake that branches off in a different direction at a later point. Or just a remake that stays true to the principal story of the first iteration with a few twists. Because if its the just going to be a straight forward remake with hardly any plot difference then it really serves no purpose in my opinion. They should just remake the old anime like they have done with Hunter X Hunter update it to 2012 standards. |

| Yea I had to keep an open mind, to a certain point if you never read the original RK, then this would be entertaining, but of course it just does not compare at all. I just cant ignore the entrance of Kenshin in the original, that mix of goofy and awesome when he defeats Gohei and the gangster behind Yahiko, as opposed to this mash up. |
| Here's hoping this rendition is as memorable as the original. |
| Awesome... is what I wanted to say, but unfortunately for me, compare to the original, this looks like a perfect script for a crappy movie. It felt boring, rushed, and completely forgettable from start to finish. I expected better. |
