| I figured that it was why she had to go to Oda's restaurant. To get heart. I actually relate to Momoe in this chapter, in regards to cooking for my mom. I remember making a big meal for her, and spending hours doing so. I cooked collard greens, cornbread, macaroni and cheese from scratch, and baked chicken. Needless to say, it took me a while to do so. What did my mom say? "This chicken ain't crispy enough. You didn't leave it in the oven long enough. This is why I prefer to have your brother cook for me". It irritates you to spend all that time cooking, and people are ungrateful. Same thing with everyone else. Like... I'm bi, so I like both genders. Though working at a sandwich shop made me never want to date a certain group of women, ever (if you know, you know). They were always whining about complaining about the tea. The tea wasn't fresh enough (even though we made it in bulk about 30 minutes ago). The tea wasn't sweet enough. The tea was too sweet. And it's like... "Ma'am, this is a sandwich shop, and we have a tea made for the machine. If you're that particular about your tea, go to the tea shop across the complex! Oh wait! You don't want to pay extra for a cup of tea? Then shut the f-ck up! You get what you pay for!" That is why I'm more apathetic about cooking and doing extra things for strangers, if I'm being honest. Working as a retail and restaurant worker let me know that people just want too much or too little. And honestly, most people, aside from nitpickers, really didn't care that much. I was actually going to compliment Oda for being mature for laughing off the harsh insults and being a good sport about it. Then I realized... Oda is in his 30s. He SHOULD be mature and laugh off the harsh insults. My number one rule is to never praise men for basic shit. |
