Well he has a point but it's not right to force others to fight if they don't want to.

There's quite a lot to mention so I'll start with the small things. The way Kurosawa cradled Akane like a baby and rolled was so awesome. The democracy line made me laugh really hard, and so did the 'YOU WILL ALL DIE SOME TIME', 'That doesn't have anything to do with this!'. Lastly, even though the 'WE CANNOT EVEN PROTECT ONE WOMAN?!' trope is done in so many things and kind of reinforcing ideas that men protect women/they can't protect themselves, I always love it anyways, so cool.

On to the meat, Kurosawa has embraced living. I think this is what truly living does mean. Fighting against Nakane was the most visceral and pure form of feeling alive, but choosing to fight for the things you care about like Nakane and Akane, or choosing to fight for yourself like Kurosawa has done ever since he was reborn, that is a life of living. That's what I think at least, and even though Kurosawa isn't happy through all of his victories I think he recognizes this is what it takes to be fulfilled, to not live with regrets, and to live every day like its your last. It goes back to Tonegawa's speech in Kaiji, and Kurosawa basically gave it verbatim, but instead of what Tonegawa said his about, this one was about fighting with your life on the line for an old lady! It's like what it means to live is to find fulfilment by refusing to give up no matter what crosses you, the thing Nakane admires Kurosawa for. Perhaps the final panel was to signify that this is a man worthy of being aniki!

Even if ultimately it ended with this is what women have been attracted to, a core desire is still someone to love. :>
