AWKWARD + EPIC FAIL = the events in this chapter. That said, I literally LOL'ed reading this chapter. I know Mariko & Akiko's relationship hasn't progressed... AT ALL. But this is still an entertaining ride. |

| Akko got very lucky. It's not about virginity; that was basically an attempted date rape. (She woke up, asking where she is, and realized that she was naked under the covers.) It would have been edgy even with "consent" (inb4 "but what if the child constents tho" meme) because she's a minor and the guy was old enough to buy drinks. I'm not sure if I should be glad or worried that Akko doesn't realize the reality of the incident. Even if she does, it's left ambiguous because she only says that she's ashamed that a guy didn't get aroused from seeing her naked. It makes the guy even more of a creepy bastard, since Akko was (and apparently still is) too young or inexperienced to know any better. Sigh. Good thing this is just fiction, huh. What confuses me is that in this chapter, Akko told the creep that she never told anyone about that night. Yet, in chapter 9, Akko's friends clearly know about a certain "first guy Akko had sex with". This could either mean that Akko lied to the creep just now, or that Akko's friends were referring to a different situation. "First had sex with" would already imply that there's been more than one guy. |

| Well... at least I'm glad Akko didn't lose her virginity with a random guy... but seriously, her not realizing that she was about to be technically raped by a guy of 21 years old or so is beyond me, I don't know what the author tried to achieved by portraying that scene as something funny... man, now I'm even more relieved Mari didn't go to that mixer because I'm sure things wouldn't be that funny if it were her the one who would have ended up in a situation similar to Akko's. And on a side note, until this chapter I have found Chiharu rather adorable with her "happy girlfriend" attitude but now that I saw her boyfriend and who he is... poor Chiharu, she definetely deserves something better than a guy who takes advantage of drunk underage girls. |
