Oh, he doesn't know which side to debate, so he just said he doesn't want to save Horizon (actually his side)/quit. He cannot answer the good point about saving Horizon for debate.

Interesting "debate". Toori and the blackness that were with Horizon want her, as a politician, to save Horizon, too. "Using of inflation and Horizon not having memory to sacrifice people" vs. "going ahead with improving the world/ world of peace"

That guy attacking her and revealing the gender... lol @ Toori!

So this is Horizon vs. world of peace?

All the world is not allow to conquer and fight each other to get Far east because its not written in the testament history. Each world need land and they are desperate.
All the world will fight each after the history reenactment is stop. Each of all of them carry one super weapon in its pocket, and thing doesn't look well if they use it just for fighting each other over Far east. Many people will die, thus this is called "Apocalypse" imo. Collecting All those "toys" will prevent "Apocalypse" and this is Motonobu's plan on saving the world ^_^.
note:Testament actually read history 100years above, so even thou now the history stop producing, testament still have its remaining authority at hand. There is a time limit of 100year lol

awesome talks, laying down the motivation and objectives of the faction while justifying their future action.

Toori is such a genius utilising the best debater to do the work for him, and relieving the pressure when things got tense.

so now the groundwork is done, time to get cracking

Despite the episode being boring in regards to action, the tremendous talks gave out much background info that is crucial in understanding Masazumi’s point and Toori’s point. Toori reclaimed himself! Naturally since he is my man! Loved Toori in the following,

The man got such a nice sniff and look at Masazumi’s private it was amazing while proving she is a girl. While having extra shots in the spoiler
now that was quite good ecchi placed. Not only that but he defended her here! Now that is a nice gentleman.

What really got me is the end and THAT END! OMG that was totally a surprise! Is it safe to say? Is it?
It’s war! War! War! Testament GTFO from the ship and go away!
We are going to kick you ass. I was so into it! Lovely! Best is Kiyonari VS Galileo in the following,

Now that was amazing! Bravo for the action! Kiyonari’s start in the spoiler
was marvellous. I was quite baffled as to why Galileo could stop him but then again I suspect he has a Sins Weapon since it looks like it was made from the same material as the one of Muneshige.

I am still WTF at the spoiler
how the heck did Mr. Fist fighter’s punch become ineffective? He has to fix that problem.

That is not even to mention of how Galileo pawned them in the spoiler
wow! One concentration of energy defied gravity and it looked like he controlled it to make both of them roll around? Well it certainly looks overpowered.

I did love Toori my man saving Masazumi from Galileo in the spoiler
EPIC! That is my man! That is why I love him! Because not only he is a pervert, not only a goofy guy with an amazing face but of all things he is a gentleman! Yes he is one in this episode! He argued to protect a girl and even saved her at the risk of getting hurt himself! That is a man! IMO of course.

About the preview, very very interesting line up. First of all Toori’s sister fan service? Wonderful, she did not have much anyway. The most I am interested in is in the spoiler
Asama….that blood on her face? I am worried along with Kimi’s avatar! Finally revealed! Furthermore I am curious of this person and what looks like Horizon? Is that you? Well if it is then it’s a flashback. Maybe more later.

BTW I did Image Stitches in the spoiler
last episode too but have to upload them. I totally noticed way more than before that Galileo is really huge in the panoramas. You have to see its massive body up close. Nuts he is as a race.

The entire episode was basically a political debate, that's fine, it's a bit weird that the show is trying to be clever, but it was fairly interesting. As for the arguments, there were real debating tactics in there that were appreciable, but the logic used in Seijun's argument "If we can come to an agreement in the future, it doesn't matter if we do whatever we want now" was just retarded. Ah whatever.

And what a way to deal with gender identity issues, I was surprised at how maturely they dealt with it.

Btw, who the hell are the people in the ED sequence?

The only problem I have with this anime is the fact that you would assume from toori bring the Main Character that he would be either smarter, stronger or more relevant. The truth is he is none of that I would really like to see him get a more interesting role instead of the role of "comic relief" and either be a tactician or just a straight up badass fighter

Sent out the only, albeit unexpected, guy in the group with enough collecting power to face against the giant mecha alone, which i doubt any other students is capable of doing so.
sent out a timid girl to ensure the honorable knight will not disgrace herself in front of the ones she wants to protect. Not to mention the first one to realise Neito's plan to make the situation a lot worse, and pass down the message to stop her from doing so.
use the rules of the debate to make the best suited person in the academy to lay down the ground work for him, instead of him being put on the spot.
solved the gender problem in an elegant way to ensure the argument holds ground

Now if that's not awesome tactician work I have no idea. He knows how to use his people, and is a lot smarter than most people here gave him the credit for. He has the intuition and charisma of a great leader, and that's all you need to command a faction. He won't be the first one to charge into the enemy field as he already has plenty of friends to handle the job better.

QFT.

And I honestly feel like this episode was one of the most successfully executed of this series... I enjoyed the dialogue for once, and although there were stagnant moments, I felt every minute was necessary.

The pope want to show the way how Testament work is rational and understanding toward Far east....Seijun use this as an advantage to do whatever she wanna do.Both party want to be fair to each other's agreement and it end up like this.
Of course to be fair, the testament doesn't wish war upon Far east but Seijun's action are all against Testament's...lol
and it seems that the execution of Horizon is an act of martyrdom according to the Testament.

Uhm.. The episode was good and all for me, with the interesting debates and the start of the war, but I'd like to ask this, this series is only 13 episodes right?.. well, assuming that it doesn't have a second season, it's already in episode eight, and Toori still ahsn't showed any signs of fighting yet, can he really fight?.. well, I like his personality, bein g perverted and funny, but in all eight episodes, almost all of his parts were for the comedic part only, he's the main character here, I think he should be fighting the most here.

But still, this series is looking good for me. 4/5 for the episode.

And Oh,

This was a very interesting episode i really loved all those arguments.
It's a shame that in the end it all turns out that the Catholic church wants to rule everything story again then again this does go hand in hand with history so they aren't of on that part.
I liked Masazumi's way of dealing with the Pop using his own words against him at one point.
It's a shame that the Pope interrupted her in her speech tho it was very nice and she finally has some confidence.
As for the story line it's starting to get really interesting now i wonder how it will turn out.

Toori needs a beating for pulling down Masazumi's pants a guy should not behave that way.

No way, he deserves a medal for that. :D

Anyways, looks like the goal now is to get all the Sins/Emotions and return them to Horizon? They're either gonna rush that or pull a dues ex machina because there's no way they can get all of them within 4 episodes.

Well yes he proved it but still pulling down ones pants is going to far there should be other ways to prove that she is a girl.
Besides the Pope was aware that her surgery wasn't finest so he should have known she was still a girl.
From what i am able to tell the only thing that's changed about her so far is the fact that she doesn't have any breasts.
Which she seems to be ashamed about.

THE DEBATE!!!

"I wish to reclaim the emotions that each country stole from her in the form of the Deadly Sin Armaments"
LOL Masazumi, you kicked ass there. Not only she freed Musashi from being a criminal but she also turned Musashi into a victim instead.

Also lol@ Toori for making his life much easier by using all the questions that were sent to ask him and used them as his weapon to ask Masazumi instead. Now he got his questions answered for him and he didn't have to come up with a question, one stone kills two birds.

I think his point was not that. He just wanted to prove that she is a fine girl which was not what the Pope was trying say. The Pope was saying she is neither man or woman, a creepy person and this will make their situation worse by weaken her moral down. His point was trying to make Masazumi regain her confident and stand up and fight again. That said, that action is too much in real life but this is just a show and this is not out of his character to begin with.

From the utter confusion of the first episodes, we have moved to an almost coherent plot and action. If this keeps up I may have to consider bumping up its rating. What is it about this season and shows that require you to have intimate knowledge of the source LN/VN to understand the action?

Yeah, this episdode was quite hard to follow. It's way easier to follow a debate in written form rather than watching it in real time.

And Toori, there are far better methods to prove that she's a proper girl. Pulling down her pants isn't one of them.

I doubt that. It's more likely that they will remain faithful to the books and leave it open for future adaptations if it turn out to be successful.

They will be doing a disservice to both new watchers and LN fans if they decide to do a JC. They are not that incompetent, I hope.

At the moment it's going according to the pace of the LN, so just sit back and relax, and hopefully the franchise will remain strong so we can see more of it in the future.

Haha Toori is legit, he does something goddamn awesome every frigging episode. He also protects Masazumi, props to this guy. Toori has got to be one of the best and manliest mc in a lonngg time.

Good to see Futayo make her decision in supporting Musashi. Shit is getting intense now, war is starting and a fight is already in the way. I wonder if Toori's got any abilities to fight with. This has got to be my most anticipated anime every week even in a great season like this.

All I got out of this was now Musashi is going to fight against Testament Union in order to collect all these Deadly Sins shit to save the world. So what I've gathered from all the episodes so far, Musashi is the Divine State ran by a bunch of kids? Then what the fuck does that make Mikawa? Who controls who? Why the fuck are kids in charge of such an important ship? Were the Armaments created from the original Horizon or from P-01S Horizon? Who created them again? What the fuck is going on? Why are there basketballs attached to the majority of the female characters? What the hell is going on?

Sadly 13 isn't nearly enough to cover what the series has just so far in what 6300ish pages? so I certainly hope for more... I mean bad anime originals get 20+ episodes .. finally a horizon adaption and it only gets 13 -_- and has about 10x the detail , character and plot development. not to mention infinite faction-ism and detail overall

It is suggested as of the Blind girl arc and that Commie subbed the letter and what was written there that they should be followed. Hadena did not do that. This is a very hard series to sub and the terminology got me @_@ at the RAW, which usually does not happen. Usually I can immerse myself into understanding anime RAW but this was hard. So yeah pro subbers of years are best with this series.

On that point Political terminology with a taste of era history correctness does stand challenging. You have to understand history and politics. That's a bitch because the level in this series is over high school or at that level at least.

It's to say the least this series is serious stuff even thought the ecchi may undermine it at times. I will leave it at that and Commie IMO are the best for this series but they only do their stuff in 10bit.

I calculated the VN->anime adaptation speed and settled on around 100 pages per episode. So if Sunrise wants to finish this series, and there's every indication they do, we'll see at least 60 episodes and probably closer to 100.

Don't give up hope till we see BD sales records, which should be around 5k per volume or enough to barely fund the series.

Great episode, great series, the smartest show in years. Definitely my favourite this year and I was about to drop it at first...

Well, normally I love debates. But here it just was built up totally wrong.

Toori made up for it, though. He alone is worth watching this show.

Fantastic how this anime is going. Definitely the best of the season (Fate/Zero is pretty damn close, though). Obviously at this point the series is not going to be one cour. I expect it to go into different seasons for sure; no way they can hope to finish the plot they are doing within 5 more episodes.

Yet again, I praise all of you who can keep up with this anime, and laugh at all of you who cannot.

For those of you who cannot, go watch your moeblobs or Naruto or something brainless like that, because this anime is obviously not for you. That is all.

When Far east done something wrong in the past, it is valid to blame them and give all kind of possible restriction.

The world control Far East, Far east is under Mikawa, and Mikawa is the owner of Musashi

Were the Armaments created from the original Horizon or from P-01S Horizon? Who created them again?

Yes, the armaments are created using P-01s,if you put "lust" into Horiaon, she gonna be sexy and attracting lol.It was created by Motonobu(sensei).

What the fuck is going on? Why are there basketballs attached to the majority of the female characters? What the hell is going on?
Kawakami love big boob and blond hair. This is official info from his main website.

Isn't there rumours that this show is a split cour with the second season airing sometime next year?

Another brilliant episode, admittedly it was hard to keep up with at points but i was hanging on there every word. It was a great mental exchange between Masazumi and the Pope with both trying to assume the position as the one trying to avoid conflict. The use of Ad hominem was a dirty low blow but Toori was there to help out and diffuse the situation.

I wouldn't say that it's the best episode ever (mainly due to the lack of emotional involvement like in ep5 :P), but I was highly entertained and intrigued to the debate.

never knew that an episode with 98% talks in one place (and not a first ep exposition) could be this interesting

Pacing and ending-wise, this would be just like Deadman Wonderland. Do things quickly and "end" it haphazardly.

And the show's almost always uses stereotypes. The Tropes are just staggering in number, and they're not even always justified.

Like I'd said above, I highly doubts it since it is still following the pace of the light novel nicely. If it's "rushed" then it's done so according to the pace of volume 1 of the book.

Season 2 already been confirmed, so there's no need to rush it.
