Rules and General Information

To start off, you must import one of your approved characters from existing RPs you're currently affiliated with. One chosen character per user. Using your desired character, you can join modes officiated by GMs.

Rules

1. Respect begets respect. Si fueris Rōmae, Rōmānō vīvitō mōre; si fueris alibī, vīvitō sicut ibi.
2. Absolutely, god-modding is our enemy! Unless of course, you have a special card.
3. Please refrain from displaying profanity in broad daylight. Use censorship.
4. Out of character conversations are posted at the comments only.
5. When a Mode follows a turn order, don't post out of turn.
6. Under normal circumstances, you can only use characters that are genuinely yours.
7. We encourage you to write your post in a grammatically correct way.

Penalties are imposed depending on the offense by a GM.

Modules

What are modules?
Modules or mods are scenarios created by game masters. These are threads with their own stories and rules in which you, the player, will use characters from another RP club and interact with other players and their respective characters.

Story-wise, modules are distortions within the void that causes a character from one universe to be sucked into an unfamiliar dimension, thus creating a bridge between two worlds. In other words, a mod is an alternate universe. In these alternate universes, your character will be given an objective that they must fulfill in order for them to return to their own respective worlds.

How do mods work?
Each mod is different with their own set of rules and mechanics. A mod's story, plot movement, win/lose condition are officiated by the Game Master. Mod creation is further discussed in the next post. At the end of each mod, participants are awarded aRPees and possible special prizes.

How to join a Mod?
To join a mod, you will choose one character from any other RP clubs you have joined. You may only use one character per mod unless stated otherwise.

There are also chances of using a character form the OC thread or another player's character with the use of Cards. (see below for Banks, Cards and Vault).

At the beginning of each mod, the participants' first post must have a link to the character's profile of their chosen character. See example:

GM Handbook of Instructions

What are GMs?
The role of a game master (GM) in a role play is to weave the other participants' player-character stories together, control the non-player aspects of the game and create environments in which the players can interact.

Who are the GMs?
The Admins and Creator posses a Permanent GM Card which is non-trade-able and cannot be stolen at any circumstances.
Users having Fake GM cards may possess GM abilities for a given time.

What are Fake GMs?
A player possessing Fake GM Cards are called Fake GMs. They may create and officiate a mod and during this time, they are promoted to officer positions. They may create an OC, as well. However, they are allowed only one mod and OC(s) that are created for that mod.
Of course, everything is still subject to the Creator's approval.

What a GM can/can't do?
  • Can create and officiate mods.
  • Can god-mod.
  • Can control NPCs.
  • ...

Creating a Mod

Guidelines:
  • State the title of your mod
  • Create a description/plot and setting of your mod.
  • Specify special conditions. No conditions means its open to all.
  • Specify how many characters (open to all/ maximum of n characters)
  • Amount of aRPee awarded to the participants.
  • Must be submitted to the Creator for approval.

    Sample:
Title of Mod: Rose and Thorns
    Description: Blah blah blah...
    Conditions: Male characters only.
    Awards:
    Champion ------- x aRPees
    1st Runner Up -- y aRPees
    2nd Runner Up - z aRPees
    Consolation ----- a aRPees

Officiating a Mod:

Guidelines:
  • Write the description/plot starter and setting of your approved Mod.
  • Specify special conditions. No conditions means its open to all.
  • Specify award/s.
  • List the characters involved (with links to their profiles) by order of their turn (if the mod is turn-based).

    Sample:
    Plot: Blah blah blah...
    Conditions: No usage of cards.
    Awards:
x aRPees ---- For completing the mod.
y aRPees ---- For defeating the BOSS.

    Order of Turn:

    Gabon Maglangit
    Myourin Foucs

In Choosing a Character To Use:

Guidelines:
  • Players are discouraged to choose pair characters(e.g. twins, characters with familiars) unless permitted by the GM of the Mod or by the power held by the cards. You either pick one of them or the creator wouldn't allow it.
  • Please pick a character that has actually a chance of winning the mod that you'll enter him/her into. (e.g. Sending a character, whose only ability is to glitter under the sun and has no fighting experience whatsoever, into a wolves' den to fend for him/herself.)

Bank, Cards, Tokens and Vaults

CARP Bank
The Coalition has a resource called aRPee, which is used for various purposes - of the most common are purchasing services and privileges via cards (see explanation below). This resource is kept track at the CARP Bank by a GM. Your bank account will be automatically created once you join your first Mod.

aRPees can be obtained by participating in the The Coalition's various Mods. The officiating GM is given the freedom to decide how many aRPees to hand out to the participants, which is usually stated at the very beginning of a Mod.

However, aRPees can also be taken away when a person disobeys the rules, or when a GM deems it.

The bank also keeps track of the cards each person holds.

Cards
Cards are manifestations of a GM's power. Each GM has an unlimited number of these, but the ones in the Card Compendium are for sale in order to extend that power to the people to a certain degree.

Cards can be obtained by making a purchase at the the Card Compendium. After a purchase has been delivered, the corresponding deduction is applied to your bank account. The card you purchased will also be recorded in the bank.

Card effect last only as long as is says on the description. Most card effects don't last for more than one Mod.

To use cards, the following must be included in your post.
aquielleoz said:
Card: <insert card name here> Card

Depending on the Card's effect, it could be at the start of a Mod, at the start of a character sheet (hint, hint), or in the bottom of a regular post. If a Card requires additional parameters (e.g. a target, specific color, age) it should also be stated.

Tokens
Tokens are items that have been awarded to a player by participating or winning a mod. These tokens are exchangeable to aRPees or special privileges that can't be bought with currency.

Vault
The vault keeps track of awards and achievements as well as souvenirs from the mods they have completed.
