How long since AN was actually good?

How long since AN was a good forum?

Face it. Most of the people you liked at AN are gone.

There might still be people you like, and god knows I could name a dozen or more worthwhile members who still post. However I could name two dozen more who are borderline inactive or banned.

The place is stagnant and no fun at all these days. I'm not going to miss it.

I know this usergroup is somewhat dead these days, but still... talk about when AN was good. How long ago was it, what made you realise it had changed, can you point to a reason? It must have been decent once, right? Otherwise why did we all spend so much of our time there once?

I know I have only been around for a year and a half but I still really enjoy hanging out on AN. There are still a good number of you long-timers that offer great suggestions and informtion. My $.02 anyway.........

AN gradually started declining by early 2k7 for me, with a few bursts of old glory here and there.

But then, somewhere along the way, AN died. Now, we're just the maggots feeding on its corpse, giving it the illusion of life. :(

I'll say when they started deleting forums (music for instance which had a lot of discussion) and lots of threads.

I really only post in the VG section, it's been that way for years. IMO the cooler members hang out in the VG section, we all seem to get along for the most part...

Other than that, I check it out of habit. It's really one of the only two forums I regularly go to.

EDIT: And for the record, I was latetotheparty and I guess I either grew out of all the old drama or all the drama on AN became boring to me. I dunno. I just got bored is all.
