Also that "Herbal" Tea that was given to Yumeji sure looked bad in sense that it could kill someone. Also Merry's quote "If the whole world is taken over by Dream Demons, who will make the donuts"?... |

This episode was amazing in fleshing out Yui and Engi. It was also amazing to get a background story of Engi's sister as well as some nice Merry/Yumeji development. Furthermore there are hints as to Isana and Iijima's developments mainly in thoughts/reactions. I really love how they showed Phalos being bad ass and evil, now that is one hell of a nasty guy. More than Treesea looks. About Merry, I loved Merry's expression here. She looked so enthusiastic in escorting Yumeji to the hospital. She was so cute when she smelled the donuts. ROFL at the doughnut bear that can talk but also Merry was cute at that part. Lovely expression of Merry towards reacting to Yumeji suggesting to her that if she wants to stay at the doughnut shop to eat she can. The ways her face was stuck the window sure made the guy eating his donuts be surprised. I loved this MOE part of Merry in the spoiler About Yumeji, it was really unfortunate that Yumeji twisted his ankle as he tried to catch Merry at the beach in order to convince not to despair. IMO it showed how much more he can push himself for her to help her out. I liked the face he made when Saki mentioned to him about school exams. It was like, don't remind me about them. Isana's father map to the hospital was cute confusing but I would try to figure it out somehow. I loved the part where Yui's father dental flies out only to hit Yumeji in a position that looked it was biting him. That was great comedy right there. I would sure not like from how that medical tea blend looked to drink it and in fact would most likely spill it out of my mouth as Yumeji did. It must have tastes that bad for him to do it. I did like the following part in the spoiler About Engi, sad story about her sister. It is definitely a fact based on Engi's sister Patty expression that her fear of Phalos is intense to say the least more like pure terror. As she was running away being in constant fear her halt in the run caused her death as Phalos looked like he created some sort of quicksand that locks Patty in place. Besides who would not fear such a gruesome face that is of Phalos. He truly is the bad ass person he is. More so than some other villains I have seen. From the looks of Patty's last moments, Phalos showed no mercy to her. Ripping out her hair and most likely in a (as Yumekichi11 shivers) rips her head out even though it is not shown, I still think the grab means a lot. As gruesome as Treesea was, Phalos is a literal “don't fuck with me or I will smash you out” though train. Apart from that I loved how happy Engi and Patty were in the spoiler About Yui Kounagi, I loved meeting her family and the place where works being a assistant to her grand-father. Looks to me like she suffered the feelings of Engi while she reminded herself of Patty's last memories. I loved how much she cares for Engi, it was so well shown with her hugging Engi, one of the most unconditional signs of caring for someone. I liked after that hug her pose. It's hilarious yet nice. Yui's room looks colorful and many articles of whom I am not too familiar with. I like her caring expression while being serious with that care to involve herself in the revenge, my take is that she saw exactly those memories that Engi was reviewing of Patty. Her joyful poses in the spoiler Yui's grandfather and family, they are all hilarious, particularly the grandfather. Upon seeing the skeleton model it already got me laughing because of the feathers it had on its head with the headband. Yui's grandfather first impression to me was that he looks like some crackpot wacko. His expressing of his astonishment of Yui bringing him a grandson is what kept the comedy at a better level. As if it was not enough I though of the father with the diary to be comedic also since he is way too conservative but that's what kept the comedy going and the the mother joining was great since I got to see how she looks. TBH they don't look like Yui at all in how better looking Yui is. The grandfather going after to father in pretense that he wants to succeed him and taking over the practice with what looks to be a wrestling match between kept the comedy going on. In general I loved all that skit because it shows how fun Yui's family is, which Yui gets her comedic times from. Rest in spoiler About preview, oh shit here comes Treesea again with a smile that may be deceiving. Looks like Engi will go rough on Yumeji as Yui herself in reality. Wonder how that will end. More Chizuru development. Will we see her muma finally? |

| After watching Episode 8 :smile: I really like how they are doing this show so far, the animation quality is still appealing to me and considering Yumekui Merry manga art style with all those dream worlds things going on, kinda reminded me of Tweeny Witches. I can say they are doing a fair job.... I started to really like that zoom in scenes like how they focused the camera on Isana's eyes when she was talking to Yumeji and showing more of her expressions and the other characters alike. The Direction works by Yamauchi Shigeyasu is something unique. As for the story parts, Now it becoming more clear that Yumekui Merry got a really good story and that scene when Engi remembered her older sister's last moments then trying to catch what's left of her older sister's memories with all that nice background music playing in then Yui catching Engi's hand IMO. It was really something touching... Now the most interesting part, is The Seiyuu, I don`t know if you guys noticed that but regardless of main male lead Fujiwara Yumeji/Okamoto Nobuhiko, The voice actresses for the females lead characters of this show They are doing a main character role for the first time like, Sakura Ayane for role of Merry Nightmare and Kayano Ai for the role of Tachibana Isana and even Kounagi Yui role is done by Akiya Tomoko. I guess you could call this is their debut work. Well compared to some boring shows that we've seen in the last fall season, Yumekui Merry has quite good potentials, so guys what do you think? |

| Finally the pacing didn't feel off in this episode, however it certainly lacked Merry, needs more of her. The teacher was suspicious until this episode, but now it's just plain obvious. The twist would be not having him as the big bad of the season actually. We'll see, looking forward to the next episode. |

Seriously, this show should be renamed "Donutkui Merry" -_-;;  Yui's my favorite side-character in Yumekui Merry :) like her outfit. as for the donut part, i swear i've heard other forms of that in other shows, including dumplings and dango. |

| Super slow, but interestingly tense episode. I kind of feel an awkwardness from the humans being able to do nothing when they get dragged into ''Daydreams''. And, why are they so random? They guy was just sitting in a doughnut shop, no big deal, and all of a sudden, he used as a vessel. Cool. Looking forward to the next! |

| Engi is a hypocrite, talking about this cyclops demon "ruthlessly killing" people, as if she didn't drag Merry into a dream to try and do the exact same thing. The cyclops snowman demon that showed up looks to be fun. Obviously he has a circus theme to his dream world, so the next episode might be more complicated than the usual straightforward action sequences. |
