| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I was really hoping for more action-packed animation along the lines of what we saw last week with the volleyball game. But I guess that was kind of a one-time experiment which was intended as a demonstration of what was possible. So perhaps there was no point in doing it more than once. I really enjoyed the care of the hallway background. They did a fantastic job of drawing the stairs. It was extremely accurate. For one thing, they included a realistic depiction of the handrails. Typically, handrails are omitted. I guess that not many viewers would buy the Blu-ray based on good stairway air, so this was a demonstration of the 3D aspect. I assume this is not regular 2D art. I also liked the rooftop scene with all of the photovoltaic solar panels. This is a nice example of what 3D modelling can do, since they only have to enter the 3D data for one of the panels, and then use many of them. It is good to see them making more use of creative facial expressions for the girls as opposed to simply doing straightforward and realistic motions of the eyes and mouth. That is definitely necessary. |
| I loved Hiina's impersonations in this episode, both her VA's performance and the animation of her expressions and gestures. Also love how straightforward they were with marketing their CD. The new ending was... interesting. The art style sorta reminded me of the disc covers of K-On!! character song CDs, except those didn't have full body versions (as far as I know). |
