Which name do you think better?
| You know Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai feel like half assed name to me. I think Kikou Shoujo wa Kizutsukanai or even Unbreakable Machine-Doll is more fitting name. What is your though? |

Fancy (i.e. laughable) Japanese authors like to use kanji and then give a totally different English name for the said kanji. Honestly they could have sticked to the Japanese version, which essentially means the same thing. |

Well MAL has policy to keep Japanese name. However, it's IRONIC the Japanese themselves blatantly use an English name even though it has a Kanji name. Thus, MAL stuck on with the Hybrid naming. I was never fond of using an English transliteration to pronounce a kanji name. However, that is actually how kanji was originally integrated with the native Japanese language. In other words, it's like English in speaking but Chinese in writing. Now imagine you writing an English essay in 100% kanji with English sentence structure and that you pronounce it exactly like you would in English. |

| It's because the novel title has the furigana Machine Doll(マシンドール) above the kanji of Kikou Shoujo(機巧少女). And like wakka9ca said, MAL uses the hybrid naming since the author intended that name to be used because it's fancy.
